*Scarce* Israeli Uzi Sub Machine Gun Bayonet and Scabbard. BAYO 261. - BAYO 261 This is a current Uzi Sub Machine Gun (the Uzi is a family of Israeli open-bolt, blowback-operated submachine guns and machine pistols first designed by Major Uziel "Uzi" Gal in the late 1940s, shortly after the establishment of the State of Israel. bayonet of all steel construction in excellent condition. There are 2 versions, the one with steel grips and a metal scabbard and another with plastic grips and scabbard. This one is in near mint condition. It has a parkerised 6 5/8 " blade and as is usual with these bayonets devoid of any markings. It is complete with an excellent condition plastic scabbard with steel mouth piece. *Near Mint* British ‘L1A3’ Bayonet Scabbard and Frog. 20113. - 20113 This is a British L1A3 bayonet, scabbard and frog (see Skennerton’s book, British & Commonwealth Bayonets Book, pages 261 – B322). The bayonet was first adopted on the 31st December 1958. On this example the grips carry the designation ‘L1A3 9600257’ and the blade ricasso carries the number ‘F60’ denoting manufacture in 1960. It has the early waisted crossguard and the pommel carries the number ‘113’. The No5 MkI scabbard retains all of its black paint and has virtually major marks. U.S M4 WWII Bayonet and Scabbard. 20155. - 20155 This is a very nice WWII M4 bayonet (The M4 bayonet was introduced in 1944 for use with the M1 carbine. The M4 bayonet, like the M3 fighting knife that preceded it, was designed for rapid production using a minimum of strategic metals and machine processes; it used a relatively narrow 6.75-inch bayonet-style spear-point blade with a sharpened 3.5-inch secondary edge) it is marked to the crossguard with ‘U.S. M4 AERIAL’ (Aerial Cutlery Manufacturing Co) The blade retains most of its original finish and the grip has the usual leather washers, which are firm and tight. The pommel carries a number 134. The scabbard is the early ‘U.S. M8’ made by ‘B.M.Co.’ (Beckwith Manufacturing Co). A nice late WWII M4 & M8 scabbard combination. British ‘L1A3’ Bayonet Scabbard and Frog. 20112 - 20112 This is a British L1A3 bayonet, scabbard and frog (see Skennerton’s book, British & Commonwealth Bayonets Book, pages 261 – B322). *As Found* German ‘S84/98’ Bayonet (Sawback Removed) and Scabbard with Commemorative Inscription ‘Boche Moorseele Oct 1918’ (Two Available, PRICE PER BAYONET). BAYO 563. - BAYO 563 The word Boche is a derisive term for Germans and ‘Moorseele’ is a town in Belgium where the ‘Moorseele Military Cemetery’ is situated (he village of Moorseele (now spelt Moorsele) was captured by the 15th Royal Irish Rifles on 14 October 1918, after remaining in German hands during almost the whole of the war. The school attached to the Convent of the Holy Family was used by German medical units from October 1914 to October 1918, and they began the cemetery behind the convent in 1915. It was also used in October 1918 by the XIX Corps Burial Officer and the 3rd Australian and 64th Casualty Clearing Stations. After the Armistice, five graves were moved into the cemetery from MOORSEELE CHURCHYARD (which was used by the Germans until October 1917) and in 1929, one from CUERNE CHURCHYARD. In 1930, more than 800 German graves were removed to Mesen. The cemetery contains 98 Commonwealth burials of the First World War. These are standard ‘S84/98 bayonets with sawback removed. There are no visible markings to either blade, however, the grips are inscribed/painted on one side ‘BOCHE MOORSEELE OCT 1918’. The pair were found in his loft by the Grandson of a Royal Garrison Artillery Gunner who served during the Great War, presumably captured by him at Moorseele in Belgium in October 1918 and inscribed as a souvenir. The blades and scabbards are in very nice condition with a nice patina. The bayonets and inscription would benefit from further investigation . The price is each and includes UK delivery. Finnish ‘M1927’ Bayonet and Scabbard. BAYO 562. - BAYO 562 This is a nice ‘M1927’ bayonet for the Finnish modified ‘Mosin Nagant’ rifle (The Mosin–Nagant is a five-shot, bolt-action, internal magazine–fed military rifle. Known officially as the 3-line rifle M1891and informally in Russia and former Soviet Union as Mosin's rifle (Russian: k4;l0;l5;m0;l6;k4;l2;k2; i2;l6;l9;l0;l5;k2;, ISO 9: vintovka Mosina), it is primarily found chambered for its original 7.62×54mmR cartridge). The 30 cm blade (41 ¼ overall) is marked with the manufacturers name of ‘Hackman & Co’ (Hackman was a cutlery and cookware company founded in Finland in 1790). The wooden grips are held with two pins and are in good solid condition. The number ‘72810’ runs down the spine of the grips. The steel scabbard is unmarked and retains 90% of its original paint.
