Czech VZ 24 WW2 German Occupation Manufacture Bayonet and Scabbard by Československá zbrojovka a.s., Brno. BAYO 248 - BAYO 248
This is the scarce WW2 Czech VZ24 rifle bayonet and scabbard made under the German occupation in WW2. "E" (lion) "24" and "CSZ" The "CSZ' marking indicates that this bayonet was used by Czechoslovakian troops during the Second World War. This example was made in 1924 by Československá zbrojovka a.s., Brno. The Germans continued the manufacture of both the VZ23 and VZ24 bayonets through WW2 but not in the same large numbers as the Mauser K98 bayonet. This bayonet has a 298mm parkerised blade and a steel muzzle ring and pommel. The wooden grips are held on by two screw bolts. The scabbard is made of blued steel. VZ24 bayonets made under German occupation seldom appear on the market. See Martin J. Brayley, An Illustrated History of Bayonets, Pages 52 – 54. The price includes UK. delivery. BAYO 248. (Box 1)
