American Civil War Era C1862-1865 U.S. Army Rock Island Arsenal Leather Saddle 'Bucket' / Boot Holster For 45-70 Calibre Cavalry Carbines Regiment Marked ‘5.T.C.’ (5th Tennessee Cavalry Regiment). Sn 19738 - 19738
The US Army Rock Island produced firearms, munitions and associated leather work to the Union army during the American civil war. Rock island also housed many Confederate POW’s during the latter stages of the war. This is an excellent Saddle 'Bucket' Holster For 45-70 Calibre Cavalry Carbines made by the Rock Island Arsenal. It is made of black hide leather and has iron buckles with leather straps. The open top bucket has brass plate at the throat to provide protection to the leather when holstering a carbine. Measurements of the holster’s openings can be seen in the images. The bucket is 13 ¾” overall length. The leather of the bucket is impressed by the maker ‘ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL’. One tip of the lower leather strap is impressed with what looks like ‘5.T.C’ most likely to the Union 5th Tennessee Cavalry Regiment which saw action in the Civil war (The 5th Tennessee Cavalry was organized at Murfreesboro, Nashville, and Carthage, Tennessee and mustered in for a three-year enlistment on July 15, 1862, under the command of Colonel William Brickly Stokes. The regiment lost a total of 245 men during service; 1 officer and 68 enlisted men killed or mortally wounded, 1 officer and 175 enlisted men died of disease or accident. A Boer War leather belt for 7.92mm x 50. 43” long and 3 ½ “wide at its widest point, with brass buckle and brass swivel clips. The thick brown leather is intact and the stitching is intact *one round holder is missing*. The buckle is functioning and is in very good condition. The Boer War, 11 October 1899 – 31 May 1902), also known as the Boer War, the Anglo–Boer War, or the South African War, was a conflict fought between the British Empire and the two Boer Republics (the South African Republic and the Orange Free State) over the Empire's influence in Southern Africa from 1899 to 1902. Triggered by the discovery of diamond and gold deposits in the Boer republics, the Boers launched successful attacks against British outposts in the opening stages of the war before being pushed back by imperial reinforcements. **VERY RARE**WW1 1916 Imperial German Holster / Shoulder Stock Combination Rig For Mauser Broom Handle C96 Semi Automatic Pistols With Pouch Containing Spare Magazine Spring & Cleaning Rod. Sn 19446 - 19446
This is an excellent and very hard to find, original, WW1 German Holster / Shoulder Stock Combination For Mauser Broom Handle C96 Semi Automatic Pistols. These pistols were issued to Infantry troops in a wooden holster that doubled as a shoulder stock. Our example is all original and complete. The wood shoulder stock holster has the correct knurled steel button which opens the hinged lid. The hinge plate has a fixed belt bar. The muzzle end of the holster has the correct steel slide with release catch that allows the holster to be attached to the grip frame recess of a C96 broom handle Mauser pistol. The holster has its original leather belt rig. The rig has the correct magazine pouch with flap cover and stud fastener to the front. The pouch contains a spare magazine spring. One side of the rig is slotted for its original wood handled steel cleaning rod. The tool is held in place by a leather stap with stud fastener. The rig also has a leather retaining strap secured by a stud fastener that fits over the top of the wood stock / holster and 2 rear belt loops. The rear of the holster is impressed with indistinct manufacturer detail & dated 1916. All leather & stitching are intact. The price includes UK delivery. Sn 19446
