**RARE**Boxed 1946-1956 Schimel Arms Company USA GP-22 ‘Gas Pistol’ (Luger PO8 Type) .22 CO2 Air Pistol. Sn 23484:25 - 23484:25 The American made Schimel is said to be the first production air pistol to use CO2 capsules. Examination of the portion of the frame where the model number is situated will reveal that the “G” prefix to the model designation is stamped into the frame, whereas, the rest of the model designation, “P-22” is raised, and formed as part of the casting process. This process may at first seem curious, but when one considers that Schimel had initially planned to produce two different models, utilising the same frame, the rationale becomes clear. Those guns that were destined to become the CO2 versions were duly stamped with a letter “G” prefix, whilst the frames destined to become the multi-pump pneumatic version would have been stamped with an “A” prefix. Due to unknown circumstances, no AP-22 pistols were ever known to have been made. According to David Schimel, the Schimel gas pistol was manufactured from 1946 to 1956 by the Schimel Arms Company. The pistol uses an 8g CO2 capsule that is housed in the grip and has a rifled .22 calibre steel barrel. The serial number is ‘G5583’ which is to the left hand side above the grip. The cast zinc alloy frame (Mazak) has developed a nice patina. The black plastic grips are undamaged and intact. The pistol has new seals and fires with a strong action. The scarce original box is worn but intact one edge is loose but intact and the original loading and firing instructions are on inside the lid (illustrated in image 3). **VERY RARE** ONE OF 2000**Cased, 1946 -1949, British Abas Major 2nd Type (A.A. Brown & Sons) .177 Calibre Air Pistol With Correct Smooth Brown Plastic Grips & Accessories. Sn 23484:24 - 23484:24 A.A. Brown & Sons were established in 1930 at Whittall St in Birmingham and mainly concentrated on making sporting guns but towards the end of the thirties and during WW2 they were producers of weapon components and machine tools. After the war both work and the necessary materials to continue with their normal line of work dried up and the company were scratching around for things to enable them to survive. This inspired them to produce an air pistol entirely of their own design which was marketed as the “Abas Major” (the name Abas derived from the initials of the company name). One of only three English air pistols that use a tap loader, the Abas Major was produced between 1946 & 1949. Only 2000 Abas Major’s were manufactured. The underlever (trigger guard) cocking air pistols were produced in three variations which can be identified by the grips. The first model had walnut grips, the second model had smooth plastic grips and the final model had chequered plastic grips. Although work like this helped the company though a difficult period, they soon returned to their normal product line and were a renowned manufacturer and customiser of high quality sporting guns. This is an excellent original example of the 2nd pattern Abas Major with correct smooth plastic grips in .177 calibre. The pistol retains its original blue finish and the grips are undamaged. It has a blade fore sight and adjustable rear sight. The top of the cylinder has the correct loading port marked ‘Load’ and the correct thumb operated loading lever which has a hole for pellet gauge. The right side of the cylinder is marked ‘Abas Major’. The front of the cylinder has ‘.177’ calibre. The trigger guard lever is stamped ‘Abas’. The grip frame is stamped with serial number ‘916’ (of 2000). The pistol loads and fires correctly. The pistol comes with its associated custom-fit faux leather covered wood, baize-lined case. The case contains an oil applicator and a vintage Webley .177 pellet tin which contains a quantity of lead pellets. The case has a carry handle, hinged lid and clasp fasteners. Boxed, 1950-1970 U.S.A. Hy-Score Arms Co New York Target Model 802B 6 Shot Repeating .22 Calibre Break Action Air Pistol With Illustrated Instruction Pamphlets. Sn 23484:23 - 23484:23 The Hy Score Model 802B repeating Target Air Pistol was produced by the New York based Hy-Score Arms Corporation between 1950 to 1970. This is an excellent boxed original example. It retains all of its original blue finish (making it the 802B model. 802C designation was allocated to chrome multi shot variants). The cylinder is crisply marked 'Hy-Score Target Air Pistol' & with the Hy-Score Arms New York Address. It is also marked 'Patent Pending Made In USA' (all illustrated). It has attractive brown contoured plastic target grips with embossed HY-Score shields, blade foresight & Adjustable target rear sight. It has an innovative loading action. The weapon has a break release catch on the right side of the frame. The weapon is cocked by 'top' break action. The rear of the cylinder has a knurled dial which is turned to open the loading port, a maximum of 6 pellets are loaded into the breech and the knurled dial is turned to close the breech ready for firing. The pistol is cocked and fired, the breech then rotated and re-tightened, the gun cocked and fired and the action repeated until all pellets are fired. The pistol fires with a strong spring action. It is contained in its original cardboard box with removable lid which has Hy-Score labelling & imagery. The inside of the lid of the box has illustrated instructions. The box contains 3 original illustrated Instruction Pamphlets. The price includes UK delivery. **SCARCE IN THE UK**MINT**C1949-1977 Sheridan Products Inc Racine USA Air Rifle company ‘C Series’ Bolt Action Loading, Pneumatic Pump Action .20 Calibre (5mm) Single Shot Air Rifle. Sn 23454 - 23454 Sheridan Products Incorporated was formed to produce Pneumatic Air Rifles with production beginning in March 1947. The name Sheridan was reputedly in honour of the Civil War's General Philip Sheridan. Sheridan made their ‘C Series’ (Blue Streak) pneumatic air rifles from 1949 to 1976 when the Company was bought by the Benjamin Air Rifle company. Benjamin continued to make Sheridan Model C air rifles in 1977. The air rifles are well constructed Airguns using quality materials. Benjamin Air Rifle Company continued producing Series C's until 1992 when the company was purchased by competitor Crosman Corporation. Sheridan ‘C Series’ air rifles are scarce to find in the UK. Vintage Racine-made models are highly sought after by collectors. This a near mint Sheridan Racine C Series air rifle. It has all of its original blue finish and the woodwork is undamaged . The rifle is 37” overall length and has a blade fore sight & adjustable rear sight. The frame and barrel are stamped with Sheridan Racine markings, together with ‘C Series’ designation 5mm (.20 calibre) detail and serial number ‘551134’. Sn 23453 - 23453 Sheridan Products Incorporated was formed to produce Pneumatic Air Rifles with production beginning in March 1947. The name Sheridan was reputedly in honour of the Civil War's General Philip Sheridan. Sheridan made their Model C (Streak) pneumatic air rifles from 1949 to 1976 when the Company was bought by the Benjamin Air Rifle company. Benjamin continued to make Sheridan Model C air rifles re-naming them the ‘C Series’ in 1977. The Benjamin Sheridan C9A is a multi-pump pneumatic air rifle produced primarily in the 1990s and early 2000s after Crosman acquired Benjamin Sheridan in 1992. It is the modern iteration of the classic Sheridan Blue Streak, chambered in the distinct .20 calibre (5mm). Sheridan / Benjamin ‘C9A Series’ air rifles are scarce to find in the UK. This a near mint C9A Series air rifle. It has all of its original blue finish and the woodwork is excellent & undamaged. 1994-2005 Webley Nemesis Classic Single-Stroke Pneumatic (SSP) .177 Calibre Air Pistol with Single Point ‘Red Dot’ Sight & Illustrated Instruction Pamphlets. AI 853 - AI 853 The Webley Nemesis is a classic Single-Stroke Pneumatic (SSP) model produced in Birmingham from 1994 to 2005. These pistols are a highly regarded Birmingham built vintage air pistol known for its simplicity and accuracy. It is recoilless firing and has a a rifled steel barrel. SOLD SOLD (06/05) Boxed, 1953-83, German, Walther LP 53, .177 Calibre, Air Pistol & Accessories. Sn 23448 - 23448 The LP53 (Luft pistole/ Air Pistol)pistol) was produced between 1953 and1983. It is a .177 calibre air pistol with the same design lines as Walther's famous .22 LR Olympia target pistol. The LP53 is all metal with beautifully formed plastic grip panels. Movie posters for early James Bond films show Bond holding an LP 53 or Olympia pistol instead of his usual service PPK. This example is in near mint condition with excellent finish to the metalwork and brown plastic contoured grips with Walther banners. It has target sights and is stamped on the left side of the frame with the Walther banner and patent detail 'LP Mod 53 Cal 4.5 (.177)' together with 'Made In Germany' & serial number '101138'. The pistol functions perfectly and is contained in its original retail cardboard box with removable lid and Walther labelling. 1905-1914 BSA Lincoln Jeffries Patent Improved Model D .177 Calibre Pistol Grip Stock Variant Underlever Air Rifle With Correct ‘Bayonet’ Catch Lever. Sn 23457 - 23457 This is an excellent original BSA Improved Model D Air Rifle. These rifles were made with both straight hand and pistol grip stocks and in different variations between 1905 and 1914 (see page 50 of the book of the BSA air rifle by John Milewski). This example has its original undamaged pistol grip stock with correct chequered panels on the grip. The stock has a steel butt plate and the shoulder stock is impressed with crisp BSA’s trademark. The ‘Bayonet’ catch cocking arm is marked with Lincoln Jeffries patent information (illustrated). It has a 19 ½” rifled barrel and measures 43 ½” overall. It has a blade foresight and adjustable dial rear sight. The metal work has its original blue finish in very good condition. The air cylinder has crisp BSA Improved Model D information (illustrated). The loading port tap has faint patent information (illustrated). The left side of the trigger block bears the serial number 41692. **SOLD**2/6**CASED Post 1972 Feinwerkbau (FWB) Model 300S Match .177 Calibre Side Lever Target Air Rifle With FWB Sight Arrangement, Stand & Replacement Rubber Eyecups. Sn 23456 - 23456 The German manufacturer Feinwerkbau (FWB) introduced the Model 300S also known as the 300S Match Air Rifle in 1972 (see page 114 of the Air Gun Book By Walter). This is an excellent example. It has a 20" barrel with clean crisp rifling and measures 43 ½” overall. It has a beautiful contoured stock with attractive grain and stippled pistol grip. The metal work retains all of its original blueing. It has a shrouded target foresight and correct weighted barrel. It has an adjustable FWB sight with spare eye cups (one lens yellow shade colour), adjustable recoil pad and adjustable trigger. The underside of the stock has a steel rail for removable target shooting stand which is present. The left side of the cylinder is crisply marked with manufacturer, model and calibre detail together with serial number '146714' and the top of the cylinder with the FWB Trademark. The optics of the sight arrangement are excellent. The rifle's side lever cocking and firing actions work correctly with a powerful spring action. The rifle comes with its composite transit case with hinged lid, carry handles, foam lining & clasp fasteners. The exterior of the has several old competition / club related stickers applied and one edge has an small, stable tape repair. 1954 - 1968 Crosman USA Model 140 Single Shot .22 Calibre Pneumatic Pump Action Air Rifle With Weaver USA Model 244 Telescopic Sight. Sn 23455 - 23455 The Crosman 140 is a vintage single-shot, bolt-action, multi-pump pneumatic .22 calibre air rifle produced between 1954 and 1968, a desirable collector's item for plinking and light pest control. This example is in excellent condition. The rifle is Pneumatic Pump Action. The air chamber is charged by multiple strokes of the underlever pump action and a pellet loaded into the barrel at the breach which has a revolving breach cover. The breach cover has maker and model detail (illustrated). The power of the air rifle is increased by the number of pumps. It has a 20” barrel and is 35 ½” overall length.
