*Rare* Parker-Hale Dragon MkI .22 Sporter Single Stroke Pneumatic ‘SSP’ Side Lever Air Rifle (1 of Only 2000 Made). AI 743. - AI 743
Parker-Hale Limited began manufacturing high quality precision shooting accessories in the heart of the gun-making quarter in the year 1880. The founder, A.G.Parker, was a well-known rifleman of the 1st Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment and recognised the need for the supply of shooting aids to his fellow shooters. With walnut and blued steel the lever and bolt handle are fully knurled, the lever opens around 110 degrees. This rifle is in excellent overall condition with the bluing on the barrel and action in very good condition. The walnut right handed stock is also in very good condition also with no splits or cracks and with only a few minor marks to the finish. It is fitted with a Parker-Hale moderator. Parker-Hale Dragon Made in England is imprinted to the side along with the serial No; 0155 and the factory warning sticker is still in place. A very nice example of this now collectable Air Rifle. 1971 – 1974 BSA Airsporter MK V .22 Air Rifle with Weaver Scope and Moderator. AI 742. - AI 742
The BSA AirSporter is an underlever spring powered Air Rifle first produced in 1948, by the Birmingham Small Arms Company and remained more or less unchanged until 1962 when the Mk2 was produced. The Mk1 had a one-piece barrel and receiver assembly with a leather piston washer, while all other marks had a screw-in barrel with most having a PTFE piston and breach seal, giving a "legal UK power" of 10 ft/lbf (14.2 J) of energy. Manufactured in .177 (4.5 mm) and .22 (5.5 mm) and marketed above the BSA Meteor and Mercury, it came in seven different marks plus another three for the "S" model, a special edition Stutzen style with a full-length stock and a "Centenary" model marking 100 years of BSA piled arms. This is an excellent condition MK V B.S.A Airsporter .22 Calibre Air Rifle. It’s serial number is ‘GJ 5495’ which dates it to between 1971 and 1974 (see page 52 of Hillers Book 'A Collectors Guide to Air Rifles'). The metal work is all original, showing a few signs of use. The wooden stock has a lovely grain and only minor signs of use *small chip on the underside to the front of the near the cocking lever*. It is under lever cocking and the top of the air cylinder has the correct two continuous grooves for telescopic sight which carries a Weaver Tip-Off 22 scope. The top of the barrel has BSA Airsporter inprinted to it. Its loading and firing actions work as they should with a strong spring action. The price includes UK delivery. Boxed, BSA Airsporter ‘S’ Stutzen ‘BSA Piled Arms Centenary 1982 One Of One Thousand’ .177 Calibre Under Lever Commemorative Air Rifle Number C0852 With Correct Centenary BSA 4x40 Telescopic Sight, Certificate Of Issue & Centenary Leather Carry Case. - 19 - 19590
During the Game Fair of 1982 held at Tatton Park, Knutsford, Cheshire BSA launched a centenary air rifle to commemorate the now famous ‘piled arms’ trademark of BSA (although the Company was established in 1861 it was not until 1882 that the trademark was introduced). Based on the Airsporter S with a new ¾ length stutzen stock the centenary air rifles were produced in a strict production number of 1,000 rifles. Serial numbers of these rifles ran from C0001 to C1000. Accessories that accompanied these rifles included a 4x40 magnification telescopic sight & padded leather case (see page 59 of The Collector’s Guide To Air Rifles By Hiller). This is an excellent example of the centenary edition set in .177 calibre. The rifle measures 45” overall with a 19 ½” barrel. The rifle has an undamaged ¾ stutzen walnut stock with contoured cheek piece and rosewood fore end cap. The stock has a finely chequered wrist and fore stock panels for grip and is fitted with sling swivel lugs & a rubber recoil pad the end of which bears the BSA stacked rifles logo. The weapon's barrel is stamped 'BSA Guns England .177 Cal' also with the BSA stacked rifles logo. The left side of the barrel is stamped with the correct limited edition serial number 'CO852'. It has a ramp blade fore sight, adjustable rear sight & telescopic sight grooves. The top of the air cylinder has the correct commemorative script highlighted in gold ‘BSA Piled Arms Centenary 1982 One Of One Thousand’. The weapon's metal work is in excellent undamaged condition and retains all of its original finish. The weapon loads and fires with a strong spring action. It is complete with its original BSA Centenary cardboard box with BSA labelling & Centenary edition accessories consisting of its BSA 4x40 telescopic sight marked with BSA and magnification detail (the optics of the sight are excellent and the lenses are fitted with removable see through protector covers), limited edition certificate of issue numbered ‘CO852’ & padded leather carry case with shoulder strap and carry handle (one carry handle is absent). The case is clean and undamaged & has the correct BSA centenary ink stamp. In the box is the rifles telescopic sight box, original factory test label, illustrated parts / instructions leaflets, BSA centenary bottle of oil and cleaning rod. 1969-1973 B.S.A Super Meteor .22 Calibre Break Action Air Rifle 'TE' Prefix Serial Number. Sn 10791. - 10791
Birmingham Small Arms introduced the Super Meteor Air rifle in 1966. The small frame rifle is 42" overall with a 18 ½ " barrel. This is an excellent example in .22 Calibre. It has an undamaged wood stock with grooved butt end. The wood has just a couple of light scuffs. The metal work is undamaged and retains most of its original blueing there are a few light scratches on the cylinder and usage wear to the finish at the left side of the barrel block. It has a block and blade fore sight and adjustable target rear sight. The top of the cylinder forward of its 2 scope grooves is crisply marked 'BSA Meteor'. The rifle's serial number 'TE70781' is stamped on the underside of the barrel block. The 'TE' prefix serial number dates the rifle to between 1969 and 1973 (See page 44 of The Collector's Guide to Air Rifles By Hiller). The barrel's bore is clean with crisp rifling and it cocks and fires as it should with a strong spring action (10.86 ft/lbs). The price includes UK delivery. The Weihrauch HW77K (carbine) is a full power underlever spring rifle, which comes with the match grade two stage “Rekord” fully adjustable trigger system. 1964-1975 Webley Mk 3 .22 Calibre Under Lever, Air Rifle. Sn 5409:25. - 5406:25
The Webley Mk 3 was introduced in 1946 and production finished around 1975 (See Pages 244 of Hiller's Book 'A Collectors Guide to Air Rifles'). The woodwork and metal work of this example are in nice condition with some scuffs and scratches to the left side of the stock. It has an 18 1/4" rifled barrel and measures 43" overall. It has a block and blade foresight and adjustable rear sight. The wood stock is inlaid with 'Webley' disc. The top of the air chamber is correctly marked with the Webley name and Birmingham address together with 'The Webley Mark 3' model detail (illustrated). The loading port is marked with '.22' calibre detail. It is under lever cocking & has an adjustable rear Target sight together with shrouded foresight and telescopic sight ramp. The rifle is serial number 'B5247' (Hiller's book has a B prefix serial number illustrated which he describes as being made between 1964-75. C1920’s Wyandotte ‘All Metal Products’ Pump Cork Ball Rifle Toy Gun. AI 737. - AI 737
All Metal Products Company was an American toy company founded in 1920 and based in Wyandotte, Michigan for most of its history. It produced inexpensive pressed metal toys under the Wyandotte brand name, and was the largest manufacturer of toy guns in the US for several decades in the 20th century. The company's slogan was "Wyandotte Toys are Good and Safe." To keep costs down, the company used scrap and surplus raw materials whenever possible, often manufacturing their toys from scrap metal obtained from local auto factories. Initially, All Metal Products Company specialized in toy guns, including pop guns, water pistols, and air rifles. Their slogan in the 1920s was "Every Boy Wants a Pop Gun." By 1927 they had become the world's largest manufacturer of toy guns. Wyandotte Toys stopped manufacturing air rifles in 1929, but continued to dominate the toy gun market throughout the remainder of their history by producing pop guns, clicker pistols, dart guns and pistols, cap guns and a variety of plastic pistols. Wyandotte c1920s All Metal Products Co. pump action five shoot spring-loading feed cork ball toy rifle gun. You can find this rare and unusual pump action gun that shoots round cork balls listed in Jim Schleyer Backyard Buckaroos Collecting Western Toy Guns book on page 343 - P44. Chamber can hold 5 5/8" cork balls which will feed automatically with each pump of the rifle. You need to pull back hard to cock the rifle. The rifle is black metal *showing age related wear in parts* with wood stock and 34” long. This is an excellent original early 1930’s 1st Type Webley Service Mark II Air Rifle in .22 Calibre. These rifles also known as the 'Spring Clip Service' due to the spring barrel retention clip were introduced in 1932 and produced until introduction of the 2nd Type MK II C1934 (See Chapter 2 of Thrale's book Webley Air Rifles 1925-2005). The trigger guard of the rifle is stamped with serial number ‘S 179’ which is repeated on the underside of the barrel. The weapon is stamped with Patent & model detail. The barrel is stamped '.22 Calibre' (all illustrated). The metal work retains its original blue finish. It has its original undamaged wood stock with chequered panel wrist & ribbed butt plate. It has its original correct 1st type, spring retaining catch, 1st type flip up rear sight, safety catch and has a ramp blade fore sight. It also has a folding 2 leaf sight.
