Set of Six Books Relating to Medals and Decorations. BO 371. - BO 371 They compromise ‘The 1914 Star to the Royal Navy & Royal Marines’ published by the Naval & Military press in 1995. It lists all known recipients of the 1914 star including auxiliary units., such as armoured trains and Mrs Stobarts Hospital Unit. Next is a copy of ‘Ribbons & Medals’ by H. Taprell Dorling covering British Commonwealth & Foreign awards. The next book is ‘British Gallantry Awards’ by P.E.Abbot & J.M.A Tamplin which covers all British and Commonwealth, military and civilian gallantry awards. The next book is ‘British & Irish campaign medals’, an all colour introduction to medals from 1899 to present. Finally are two shire books which cover ‘British campaign medals 1914 – 2005’ & ‘The Victoria cross’ both of which are by Peter Duckers the acknowledged expert and author of many articles & books.
