Post 1896, Small Frame Webley MK III .380 Calibre Pocket Revolver With Spurless Hammer**UK / EU DEACTIVATION CERTIFICATED** Sn 17699:11 - 17699:11
Webley MK III .380 pocket revolver's were introduced in March 1896 ( see page 151 of Bruce & Reinhart's book Webley Revolvers). This is a very good example. The small frame pistol has a 4" barrel. The frame of the pistol is stamped with the numbers 'Z7765' and ‘10267’ also 'Webley Patents', Webley 'winged bullet' legend & ‘Mark III .38’. The cylinder frame is stamped signed 'P. Webley & Son, London & Birmingham'. Its metal work has its original blue finish and its Webley signature black chequered composite grips, secured with a screw bolt are excellent & undamaged. It has a spurless hammer to prevent snagging on clothing if carried in a pocket. Deactivated to UK/EU specification in 2021 it has a cut and ringed cylinder & the trigger revolves the cylinder. In 1914, with the beginning of the First World War, Gun manufacturers located in the City of Eibar Spain began equipping the French Army with revolvers. At that time Smiths & Wesson’s American patents did not protect their designs in Spain and the Spanish companies produced revolvers identical to S&W Russian Calibre top break and hand ejector type revolvers. In WW1 the British Army faced a shortage of their standard Officer’s issue Webley MK VI revolvers and ordered supplies of the Spanish made large calibre revolvers (see pages 57-58 of Revolvers Of The british Services 1854-1954) . This example of the Spanish made service revolver which is designed using S&W Russian Calibre top break action designs is in very good condition and is of the type issued to British & French Officers during WW1. It has a 5” barrel with top rib which is stamped ‘Manufactura Especial De Revolvers Garate Anitua Y Oia Eibar Espana’. It has military fixed sights and lanyard ring. Finished in blue the right side of the frame is stamped with ‘Manga Registrada’ mark and ‘Hege’. The frame is stamped with serial number ‘109’. The pistol has a colour case hardened hammer & trigger. The barrel block has British proof marks and calibre information (illustrated). It has undamaged chequered panel grips (the grips look short but they are exactly as they should be). Deactivated to UK specification in 2011 the pistol has a ringed cylinder and blocked barrel & it cocks and dry fires in both single & double action. Also known as the "Zouave Rifle," the.58 calibre muzzle loading 1863 Remington was referred to as "Harpers Ferry Pattern" in official Army documents. These rifles were issued to Zouave Light Infantry Regiments of the U.S army during the civil war, named, so as their uniforms were fashioned on those of Colonial North African French troops. The Remington design lives on today in live firing firearms of Italian manufacturer’s such as Zoli. This is an excellent Zouave rifle made in the modern era by Zoli.. It has an undamaged stock with hinged patch box and blued metal work. It measures 49” overall with a 33" barrel. The barrel has the Italian manufacturer’s details. The weapon has brass furniture, block & blade fore sight and flip up 2 leaf rear sight, heavy hammer, ram rod & sling swivels fitted with leather sling. The action plate is crisply marked with the American Eagle mark. It is serial number 34529. Deactivated to early UK/EU specification in 2018 the rifle cocks and dry fires. The weapon comes with a brass hilt bayonet which has a clean 20” long steel blade with fullers. The scabbard is leather with brass mounts. This is a very good Marlin Model 1892 lever action rifle. It has all of its original woodwork and has blued metalwork. Its has a 24” barrel and measures 40” overall. The top of the barrel is marked with the Marlin Fire-Arms Co. New Haven address & patents. It has an external hammer & full length tube magazine. The top of the action is marked 'Marlin Safety'. The underside of the frame is stamped with number '180400'. The action tang is marked ‘Model 1892’. It has a Marlin signature butt plate, blade foresight & adjustable rear sight. The Remington 1858 New Model Army Revolvers were used during the American Civil War and the design was the beginning of a successful line of medium and large frame percussion revolvers. The Remington design lives on today in the form of quality black powder firearms from Italian manufacturers Uberti, Pietta, and Euroarms. This Italian made example of the 1858 New Model Army revolver is in excellent condition. The pistol has an 8” octagonal barrel and measures 14” overall. The polished steel metal work has Italian inspection marks and it has an undamaged wood grip. Deactivated to UK specification in 2006 the pistol cocks and dry fires correctly in single action only. This Pietta made example of the New Model Navy revolver is in good condition. The pistol has a 6 ¾” blued steel barrel and measures 12 ¾” overall. The barrel is crisply stamped 'F.LLI Pietta Made In Italy' together with ‘FAP diamond cartouche’ and 'Black Powder Only .36 Cal'. It has a brass frame, blued cylinder and undamaged wood grip. This is an excellent Nazi German Portuguese contract rifle. The receiver has the crest of Portugal and manufacture date which appears to be ‘44’ (1944). It has an adjustable rear sight, shrouded fore sight, bayonet slide and steel butt plate. The breech, bolt and wood have matching numbers ‘7307’. It also has other un-matching numbers. It has all original wood work which has just light bumps and bruises to be expected with age and service use. The rifle has its original cleaning rod. Deactivated to UK/EU specification the weapons magazine can be removed, its bolt and trigger move, but the firing mechanism has been disconnected internally so it does not cock and dry fire.
