Victorian, British, Militia Pattern, W.W. Greener Martini Metford Mark II .303 Service Rifle, Leather Sling & Wilkinson Pattern 1888 Bayonet. **EU 2024 DEACTIVATION** - D 6010 The famous W.W. (William Wellington) Greener English sporting shotgun and rifle manufacturer was established in 1829 and is still in business. This is an excellent, original British .303 Martini Metford Mark II service rifle by this famous maker. The rifle in that it does not have provision for the top wooden handguard and has Rigby nose cap for the Pattern 88 sword bayonet without a cleaning rod hole. The rifle has the mark 3 fore end and the small cocking lever. The rearsight is graduated to 1800 yards and the barleycorn foresight is fitted with a blued spring steel sight protector. The receiver is stamped on the left hand side WW GREENER BIRMINGHAM. The metalwork retains most of its original blued finish and the woodwork is in excellent with only minor marks from age service use. The fore end fitting lug has WD ordnance marks to it and are the only government marks on the rifle. The barrel when originally proofed was for nitro powders at Birmingham. The rifle has a barleycorn fore sight, flip up 1800 yard ladder rear sight, steel butt plate, 3 sling swivels and a leather sling. There is an old small inlet repair to the fore end near to the lower barrel band that has been well executed in the fitting and finish. The rifle is fitted with a Wilkinson London Pattern bayonet and is stamped on the ricasso with a crown over VR and WILKINSON LONDON with 10 90 (October 1890). The other side of the ricasso is stamped with WD and various inspection stamps. **ALL MATCHING NUMBERS INCLUDING BOLT** WW2 1945 Dated, Russian Izhevsk Arsenal Mosin Nagant, Model 1891/30, 7.62mm Calibre Bolt Action Rifle, Folding Bayonet & Sling **UK 2008 DEACTIVATION CERTIFICATED** - D 6009 The Mosin–Nagant is a five-shot, bolt-action, internal magazine-fed, military rifle, developed by the Imperial Russian Army in 1882–91, and used by the armed forces of the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union and various other nations. In spite of the age of its design these weapons have shown up in various conflicts around the world until the modern day, being rugged and effective, much like the AK-47 and its variants. The Izhevsk Machine building Plant is a weapons and motor vehicle manufacturer based in Izhevsk, founded in 1807 at the decree of Tsar Alexander I, and is now one of the largest corporations in its field. The Plant manufactured Mosin Nagant rifles during WW1 & WW2 along with AK47 assault rifles and other arms for the Russian War effort. The Plant produces arms for the Russian Military today. This is an excellent WW2 dated Mosin Nagant rifle. The rifle has undamaged metal work that retains most of its blued finish. The bolt has a nice bright surface finish. The original wood furniture in excellent condition and retains the original stampings. The wood has several inspection marks. The barrel shank is stamped with Russian Script and arrow within triangle Arsenal marks of the Izhevsk Plant together with 1945 date. The weapon is serial number BK1075 which is stamped on the breech, barrel, bolt, magazine plate and butt plate. The weapon has its original cleaning rod, adjustable rear sight & shrouded post fore sight and folding bayonet. The fore stock and shoulder stock are correctly slotted for sling anchor and fitted with original webbing & leather sling. Heckler and Koch G3, 7.62mm Calibre Infantry Rifle **EU 2024 DEACTIVATION** - D 6008 The Heckler and Koch G3 rifle was a select fire rifle chambered in 7.62 NATO and was developed in the 1950s by Heckler and Koch in conjunction with CETME. The rifle was in service with the German Bundeswehr until the 1990s when it was replaced by the G36. The rifle was used by other countries. This is a G3 7.62mm semi-automatic rifle complete with its original wooden stock and fore end together with a black plastic pistol grip. The rifles cocking lever lifts and cycles the slide, the trigger and safety catch all move and the magazine can be removed. The side of the action is stamped G3 FMP 9/63 (September 1963 manufacture date) together with the serial number 904853. The rifle is in good used condition with its original muzzle protector and has the usual knocks and bumps with service use. The bayonet for this rifle is available separately on our web site. German, WW2, 1941 Dated, Matching Numbers, byf (Mauser) Mauser K98, 7.92mm Calibre Infantry Rifle & K98 Matching Numbers Bayonet in Superb Condition. **UK 2008 DEACTIVATION**. Sn - 21681:11 This is an excellent German WW2, 1941 dated K98 infantry rifle by Mauser with matching serial numbers including the stock together with a matching numbers K98 bayonet by E.u.F. Horster. The rifle and bayonet retain all of its original woodwork and metalwork and most of their original blued finish. The rifle has the serial number 6963 stamped on the breech, barrel and the stock together with various acceptance stamps. The rifle was made by Mauser and the breach is stamped 41 (1941 date) byf (Mauser-Werke KG, Oberndorf on the Neckar). The stock is in excellent condition with only minor bumps and knocks. The metalwork retains most of its blued finish. The rifle has a block & blade foresight with the hooded protector, adjustable rear sight, bayonet slide, cleaning rod & leather sling. The rearsight and some of the rifles inspections marks still have the original pale yellow highlights. The matching numbers bayonet is made by E.u.F.Horsterand and most if its original blued finish. The bayonet is stamped on the ricasso E.u.F.Horster together with the serial number 8272 which is also stamped on the scabbard stud. The scabbard is stamped at the throat 42 (1942 date) agv (Berg & Co, Solingen-Ohligs). . Both the scabbard and the bayonet are in excellent condition and retain most if their original blued finish. The bayonet grips are undamaged. The rifle was deactivated to UK specification in 2008. The rifles bolt cocks, the rifle dry fires and inert rounds can be put in the magazine. WW1 U.S. Army Remington (RE) & WW2 British Home Guard Issue P14 .303 Calibre Rifle & British Pattern Webbing Sling**EARLY UK 1994 DEACTIVATION CERTIFICATED**Sn 21681:10 - 21681:10 This is an excellent WW1 & WW2 .303 calibre P14 Rifle. These rifles were used by American Forces in WW1 and issued to British Home Guard (HG) Units in WW2. The all original woodwork has just light bumps and bruises to be expected with age and service use. The metal work is undamaged. The barrel shank is stamped by the American manufacturer ‘RE’ (Remington). It is serial number 396259 and there is a ‘*’ mark. The bolt is numbered ‘283662*’ (illustrated). There are no external visible Brish WD marks but the fact it is in British .303 calibre and is fitted with British pattern webbing sling indicated WW2 British HG issue. The rifle is fitted with a flip up rear sight, winged fore sight, additional flip up rear aperture sight & long range volley sight on the fore stock. It has a steel butt plate with trap, sling swivels fitted with sling and bayonet lug. Deactivated to early UK specification in 1994 the rifle cocks & dry fires. German, Post WW2, K98 Extended 10 Round Magazine. MISC 1007 - MISC 1007 This is a Post WW2 10 round extended magazine for the K98 German service rifle. The magazine replaces the floor plate on the rifle for the 5 round magazine is fitted from below the rifle and is held in with a integral lug and a screw. The magazine is complete with its milled steel follower which is retained by a steel wedge on a chain for transit is in near mint condition. The slot on the left hand side of the magazine is for holding the steel magazine wedge on the chain when the magazine is fitted. The 10 round magazines are unavailable elsewhere. **BOER WAR ERA** British WD BSA Co South African Military Contract Long Lee Enfield .303 Calibre Rifle With Sling, 1888 Pattern Mark II, Type II, Lee Metford Bayonet & Scabbard**UK 2011 DEACTIVATION CERTIFICATED**Sn 21681:8 - 21681:8 The Lee-Enfield .303 was introduced into the British Army in 1895 and in Canada the year following. It replaced the Lee-Metford, which had been the standard issue firearm since 1889. The latter was a magazine-fed repeating rifle, but it fired cartridges using black powder which emitted smoke when fired that gave away the rifleman's position. In 1891, the British first produced cordite a propellant that burned cleanly without emitting smoke. It also generated more heat, however, which wore out the Lee-Metford's rifling system of seven shallow grooves. A new rifling system was developed at the Royal Small Arms Factory, Enfield, consisting of five deep grooves that could withstand the intense heat generated by the cordite. The result was the .303 Lee-Enfield rifle. The new rifle saw service in the Boer wars and beyond. This is an excellent .303 calibre Lee Enfield Long Lee bolt action rifle made by BSA Co for a South African Union military contract. It is crisply stamped on the right side of the strap BSA Co (these contract rifles were not marked with dates, King’s Crown and model designation as found on British service rifles). The rifle is number 38495 and has other un-matching numbers. The barrel shank is stamped with Union of South Africa ‘U with WD arrow’ mark and BSA's piled arms trademark. It has a stepped blade fore sight, flip up rear peep sight, long range volley sights (as is common the arm on the fore stock graduated plate is absent), ladder sight, bayonet bar, Breech cover, sling swivels fitted with webbing sling & magazine cut off (fixed in place during the deactivation process). The wood work is all original and has just the light bumps and bruises to be expected. The stock has a brass butt plate with trap. Deactivated to UK specification in 2011 the rifle cocks and dry fires crisply & the magazine can be removed. The rifle comes with an original British 1888 Pattern Mark II, 2nd pattern, Lee Metford Bayonet & Scabbard. The bayonets 12” clean double edged blade is unfullered with a medial ridge running from the ricasso to the blade tip. The ricasso of the blade is marked Queen’s crown VR (Victoria Regina)and dated 11/99 (November 1899), with ’05 (1905 date) stamped across it. The reverse and spine have Enfield ‘EFD broad arrow’ WD inspection stamps. The undamaged wood grips are secured by 2 brass rivets and have the correct oil hole above the upper rivet. The steel bayonet release button works correctly and the pommel is numbered ‘380’. The steel mounted leather scabbard is clean with all leather & stitching intact. WW2 1942 British WD No.4 MK 1/2 Royal Ordnance Factory Fazakerley ROF(F) .303 Calibre Rifle With Sling, No.4 MK II ‘Pig Sticker’ Socket Bayonet & Scabbard**2008 UK DEACTIVATION CERTIFICATED** Sn 21681:7 - 21681:7 An original, 1942 dated, WW2 303 calibre No.4 MK II rifle. The all original woodwork and metal work of this weapon are in excellent condition. It has a winged fore sight, flip up rear sight and brass butt plate with trap. The rifle is fitted with original webbing sling. The breech is marked 'No 4 MK II' & ROF (F) (Royal Ordnance Factory Fazakerley). The grip strap is dated 1942 and marked with serial number Y23832. Deactivated to UK specification in 2008 the weapon cocks and dry fires & its magazine can be removed. The rifle comes with an original ‘Pig Sticker’ Socket Bayonet.
