*MINT BORE**C1850 British Enfield Tower Liege Belgium Contract .650 Carbine Calibre British Sea Service Customs / Revenue Type Muzzle Loading Percussion Pistol With Brass Fittings, Captive Steel Ram Rod & Belt Bar. A 586 - A 586 Due to heavy production demands for Sea service pistols the British Admiralty turned to their Belgian allies to produce Sea Service pattern pistols to supplement British made supplies. Liege pistols, although not the fine quality of the British version, were robust, heavy and well made resulting in other nations Governments also contracting Liege pistols for their armed forces. This is an original Victorian, Liege contract Tower Sea Service Customs / Revenue type percussion pistol. It is 12” overall length with 6” blued steel barrel in .650 Carbine Calibre. The barrel’s smooth bore is near mint clean and bright. The barrel is un-sighted. The Walnut full stock is a nice deep brown with regulation pattern brass furniture & has just light bumps & bruises to be expected with age and service use. It has its original captive steel ram rod & steel lanyard ring to the brass butt which is numbered ‘744’. The action plate is marked ‘Tower’ & with Crown VR (Victoria Regina). It has a heavy military hammer. The action functions crisply. The pistol is fitted with original steel belt bar. The price includes UK delivery. C1840 Spanish Form Ladies Or Youth Size Percussion 12 Bore Single Barrel Muzzle Loading Sporting Shotgun. Sn 20512:5 - 20512:5 This is an antique muzzle loading 12 Bore Single Barrel Muzzle Loading Percussion Sporting Shotgun in Spanish form. It has a 28 ½” two stage browned steel un-sighted barrel and measures a short 44 ½” overall making it ideal for ladies or youth use. The barrel has German silver bands and roundel insert at the breech. The barrel's smooth bore has staining & residue consistent with age and use. The action tang, hammer and action plate have engraved with foliate decoration. The trigger guard has extended tang with Pineapple finial. The wrist of the stock has chequered panels. The top of the wrist is inlaid with void German silver escutcheon and it has a German silver fore end block. The stock is fitted with a steel butt plate with extended tang & under the barrel are steel ram rod mounts. The stock is all original with just light bumps and bruises to be expected. The gun has a wood ram rod with brass end caps. The gun’s cocking and firing actions work crisply. The price includes UK delivery. **RARE**American Civil War Era Providence Tool Company, Providence, Rhode Island, USA, Peabody’s 1862 Patent (Model 1862 Army) .44-40-50 Peabody Rim Fire Obsolete Calibre Breech Loading 2 Band Short Rifle. Sn 20235 - 20235 The Peabody action was an early form of breech loading firearm action, where the heavy breechblock tilted downwards across a bolt mounted in the rear of the breechblock, operated by a lever under the rifle. The Peabody action most often used an external hammer to fire the cartridge. The Peabody action was developed by Henry O. Peabody from Boston, Massachusetts, and was first patented on July 22, 1862. Peabody carbines and rifles were made by the Providence Tool Company, Providence, Rhode Island & Sharps & Hankins. Our example by Providence Tool Co is in good condition for its age. The weapon is 41” overall length. By operating the under lever, the breech plates falls to allow loading of a cartridge. The weapon has a 22” long, blued barrel. The barrel’s bore has staining consistent with age & use & crisp rifling. The metal work has even aged patina. It has a block & blade foresight and ladder rear sight. The left side of the frame is crisply stamped with manufacturer and patent detail & the top of the barrel and top of the action frame have small proof marks (illustrated in image 2). There is no visible external serial number on the rifle. The all original wood work has knocks, bumps and bruises to be expected with age and use. The butt plate is steel and it has sling swivels and steel cleaning rod. The loading and firing actions work crisply. The price for this rare short rifle includes UK delivery. C1800 English Isaac Walker (Norwich Norfolk) 15 Bore, Flintlock Belt Pistol With Octagonal Barrel & Belt Bar. Sn 20519 - 20519 Isaac Walker was an English Norwich Norfolk based gunmaker recorded as having premises at 5 Briggs Lane 1797-1800, Rampant Horse Street 1801-1830 & St Stephen’s Plain 1835-1839 (see page 356 of British Gunmakers Vol 2 by Brown). This is a very good original Flintlock belt pistol by Isaac Walker. It is 11 ½” overall length with a 6” octagonal steel barrel which has a small brass blade fore sight and ‘v’ notch plate rear sight. Its smooth bore has staining & residue consistent with age. The original Walnut full stock furniture is undamaged with just the bumps and bruises to be expected with age & use. It has its original wood ram rod with brass end cap, steel cock & steel trigger guard with extended tang and Pineapple finial. The lock plate is marked by the manufacturer ‘I. Walker’. The cocking and firing actions work crisply. The left side of the weapon has its original steel belt bar. The price includes UK delivery. **QUALITY**Inter War Era German Reichsbund Deutsche Jägerschaft (German Hunting Society) Akah (Albrecht Kind GMBH) Portable Leather Covered Double Opening Rifle Cartridge Magazine For 48 x .423 Mauser Calibre Ammunition With Sliding Patch Draw. Sn 20462 - 20462 This is an excellent, original, quality made Portable Magazine For .423 Mauser Calibre ammunition as used by the Reichsbund Deutsche Jägerschaft (German Hunting Society, which was the official hunting society in Nazi Germany, 1934–1945. Membership was mandatory for all who possessed a hunting licence). The leather covered metal hard case, measures 7” x 4” x 1 ½”. The top and bottom of the magazine has hinged lids with white metal clasp fasteners. Each section has white metal open tubular top plates to accommodate individual rounds . Each section is designed to hold 24 rounds of .423 Mauser Calibre Rifle Ammunition (48 total). One side of the magazine has a small sliding draw for patches. The leather on the front of the magazine is impressed with crossed rifles and Oak leaves wreaths and has manufacturer detail ‘Akah’ (the trademark of Albrecht Kind GmbH which was founded on 24 September 1853 by Mr Albrecht Kind in Hunstig, a small village situated approx. 50 km to the east of Cologne). The case is fitted with original adjustable leather strap with eyelets which has a wood toggle and steel adjustment stud. C1850 Victorian James Cuthbert Arbroath (Scotland) 12 Bore Double Barrel Muzzle Loading Percussion Sporting Shotgun. Sn 20512:3 - 20512:3 This is a Scottish Victorian double barrel percussion sporting shotgun made or retailed by James Cuthbert Arbroath (unknown). It has 30” steel barrels and measures 46 ½” overall. The barrels set side by side have a central flat top barrel rib with small bead fore sight. The bores have heavy staining and residue consistent with age and use. It has its original walnut stock with chequered wrist and fore stock panel. The wood has light knocks bumps and bruises consistent with age and use. The underside of the shoulder stock has a void disc escutcheon. Its steel butt plate tang, trigger guard with extended tang and finial, stock block tang, action plates & hammer have foliate engraved decoration. One action plate is signed by the maker or retailer ‘James Cuthbert Arbroath’. The shotgun has an ebonised wood ramrod with brass cap and hollow brass tip. The weapon cocks & dry fires crisply.
