1795-1832 English, .44" Bore, Brass Framed Percussion Pocket Pistol With Screw Off Barrel By Patrick Of Liverpool. A 530. - A 530 Jeremiah Patrick was an English Liverpool based Gunsmith between 1795-1814 The business was then taken on by Edward Patrick between 1814-1820 & finally by Ann Patrick from 1820-1832. This is a fine .44" Bore brass framed percussion pocket pistol by Patrick. It is 6 inches overall with a 1 3/4" screw off barrel & a dolphin hammer. On the left side amongst the fine foliate decoration is engraved 'Patrick' and the right 'Liverpool' within foliate design. It has a concealed folding trigger & sliding safety catch feature. The action works as it should. It has impressed proof /inspection marks on the barrel and frame. The bag shaped wood grip is excellent & undamaged and is inlaid with a void silver escutcheon. C1840 Samuel Conway Stockport (Cheshire) 60 Bore Steel Box Lock Action Percussion Pocket Pistol With Steel Turn Off Barrel, Black Powder Proofs & Concealed Folding Trigger. Sn 18604 - 18604 Samuel Conway was an English Cheshire based Gunsmith. In 1840 he is recorded as having premises at 4 Middle Hillgate Stockport (see page 196 of Brown’s book British Gunmakers Vol.2). This is a very good percussion pocket pistol by Conway. The pistol is 6” overall with a 1 ¾” screw off smoothbore round steel barrel. The bore has staining and residue consistent with age & use (a tool is required to remove the barrel, we do not have a tool). The left side of the German Silver action is crisply engraved 'Conway' within oval & has foliate decoration. The right ’Stockport’ within oval & has foliate decoration. It has a folding concealed trigger and Dolphin hammer. The action is strong. It has crisp proof marks on the underside of the action and barrel. Its original, undamaged walnut grip has no damage. QUALITY C1840 English R.S. Clarke 16 Bore Percussion Traveling Pistol With Octagonal Damascus Barrel, German Silver Mounts & Ram Rod. 15033. - 15033 This is a quality made percussion pistol made C1840. It is 9 ½” overall with a 5” octagonal Damascus steel barrel. The barrel is fitted with German silver blade fore sight and grooved action rear sight. The barrel’s smoothbore is clean. The barrel has double inlaid silver lines and the action a silver roundel insert. It’s action plate, Dolphin hammer and trigger guard with extended tang have crisp foliate engraved decoration. The action plate is signed by the maker in stylised script ‘R.S. Clark’. Its original walnut stock has a chequered panel pistol grip. The wood has just light bumps and bruises to be expected with age and use. The stock has German silver fittings (a small piece of one German silver stock mount on the right side of the pistol is absent as can be seen in the images). The pistol has its original wood ram rod with horn end cap. Its action works as it should. The price for this pistol worthy of further research re the maker includes UK delivery. C1820 English Thomas Spencer ,London, .45” Bore Flintlock Pocket Pistol With Screw Off Barrel. Sn 12795. - Sn 12795 Thomas Spencer was an English Gunmaker recorded as having premises at Mile End, Old Town, London in 1819 and at 34 Duke Street Southwark, London in 1841 (see page 204 of British Gunmakers Volume 1 by Brown). It is 6" overall with a 1 ½” screw off barrel which is .45” at the muzzle opening. The underside of the barrel has crisp proof marks. Its steel side plates are decorated with shield and banners on both sides. The left side has the manufacturer's name 'Spencer' & the right ‘London’. It has undamaged original bag shaped wood grip and sliding safety catch feature. The hammer is fitted with a flint. The cocking & firing actions work as they should . Price includes UK delivery. Late 1700’s / Early 1800's, English, Marhall & Weatherhead, 54 Bore Flintlock Pocket Pistol With Screw Off Barrel. Sn 16735. - Sn 16735 This is a flintlock pocket pistol by Marhall & Weatherhead (unknown) in the form popular in the late 1700's early 1800's. It is 7” overall with a 2 ½” screw off barrel. The barrel’s smooth bore has residue and staining consistent with age and use. It has impressed black powder proofs on the underside of the action. The action is signed on one side with a decorative cartouche. The other side has the maker or retailer name ‘Marhall & Weatherhead’. The action has a strong spring action and has a steel safety bolt. The hammer is fitted with flint. The bag shaped walnut grip is undamaged. The price includes UK delivery. *VERY RARE, LEFT HAND LOCK*, C1750 Dutch Form 6 Bore Flintlock Blunderbuss Pistol With Fluted Canon Barrel, Ornate Inlaid Silver Wire Decoration & Cudgel Butt. Sn 17131. - Sn 17131 This is a very rare, large bore blunderbuss flintlock pistol most likely by a Dutch maker made C1750. It is 13 ½” overall with a 7 ¾” Cannon barrel which has a fluted section where the barrel meets the stock. The barrel’s smooth bore has staining consistent with age and use. It has its original undamaged walnut stock inlaid with silver wire decoration & steel fittings including trigger guard with stylised finial and cudgel pommel. Rare to find, the plain steel lock is set for a left hand shooter. The hammer is fitted with flint and the action works as it should. It is complete with original steel ram rod with worm end. There are no visible manufacturer or date marks on the pistol. The price for this very rare find left hand lock flintlock pistol includes UK delivery.
