Victorian French Long Gun Size Polished Flattened Cow Horn Black Powder Flask With Graduated Brass Charger & Hanging Rings Fitted With Copper Chain. Sn 18593 - 18593
This is an excellent, original, complete, French form , Victorian, Black Powder Flask for pistols . It is similar in form to chargers illustrated on page 395 item 1168-2 of the Powder Flask Book by Riling. It measures 9” overall length and the polished, flattened horn flask and the flat brass base secured by pins is 1 ¼” x 3” . The horn is clean and has nice colour. It has a brass throat cap with sprung brass opening lever. There are no visible manufacturer marks on the flask. The sprung lever charger is graduated ’65-70-75-80’ grains. The horn is fitted with 2 small brass rings mounted with copper chain. The price for this attractive gun size flask includes UK delivery. Sn 18593

C1800 English Patrick Liverpool 18 Bore Flintlock Holster Pistol Nipple & Drum Converted To Percussion C1830. Sn 18994 / 19533 - 18994 / 19533
Jeremiah Patrick was an English Liverpool based Gunsmith between 1795-1814. The business was then taken on by Edward Patrick between 1814-1820 & finally by Ann Patrick into the mid 1800’s. This is a flintlock holster made C1800 by Patrick of Liverpool and later, C1830 nipple & drum converted to percussion. It measures 15 ¼” overall and has a 9” 2 stage un-sighted barrel. The barrel has proofs. The smooth bore has just light staining consistent with age. The top of the barrel is very faintly engraved ‘Liverpool' (to faint to photograph). It has a brass trigger guard with extended tang & brass ram rod flutes. The border engraved stepped lock plate is signed 'Patrick'. It has a dark walnut full stock with brass cudgel butt. The top of the stock’s wrist is inlaid with a brass shield engraved with stylised monogram. The pistol has a brass topped wooden ramrod with worm and screw off brass cap. Its cocking and firing action work crisply. The price includes UK delivery. RESERVED C1815 English Clark London 32 Bore Flintlock Overcoat Travelling Pistol With Safety Bolt & Escutcheon Engraved ‘J. Lloyd’. Sn 18992 - 18992
This is a C1815 English Clark London 32 Bore Flintlock Overcoat Travelling Pistol. It has a 4” 32 Bore barrel with sighted rib engraved ‘LONDON’, border engraved stepped and bolted signed lock ‘CLARK’ (most likely John Clark gunmaker Chamber Street London 1814-1820 see page 149 of Brown’s book British Gunmakers Vol 1). The pistol is full stocked with border engraved steel mounts, chequered grip, white metal escutcheon with engraved name ‘J.Lloyd’ no doubt the original owner & horn topped wooden ramrod. The barrel’s smooth bore has just light staining consistent with age. The hammer is fitted with flint. Its action works as it should. The price includes UK delivery. 1807-1821 English Dunderdale, Mabson & Labron, Birmingham 54 Bore Flintlock Pocket Pistol With Turn Off Barrel. Sn 18907 - 18907
This an excellent Flintlock pocket pistol made By Dunderdale, Mabson & Labron who were quality English Gun makers located at 25 Russell Street, Birmingham between 1807-1821 (see page 35 of English Gunmakers By Bailey & Nie). It is 6 ½” overall with a 1 ¾” screw off barrel. A tool is required to turn off the barrel, we do not have the tool. The barrel’s bore is clean. The underside of the action has crisp proof marks. It's steel action is decorated with Martial banners on the right side and with the manufacturer's name 'Dunderdale, Mabson & Labron' on the left. It has undamaged original bag shaped wood grip. The back of the grip has an inlaid silver shield escutcheon with stylised monogram. The hammer is fitted with a flint. The weapon cocks and dry fires crisply. The price includes UK delivery. 1860’s English Manton & Co London & Calcutta Large Bore .750 Musket Calibre Percussion Holster Pistol With Brass Furniture, Cudgel Butt & Captive Steel Ram Rod. Sn 18914 - 18914
The Manton family were English gunmakers beginning with John in the early 1800's, then his younger brother Joseph who operated circa 1825-35. J. Manton and Son operated circa 1832-1862 and J. Manton & Co is later listed as operating in London and Calcutta. This is an excellent percussion holster pistol by Manton & Co London & Calcutta. It has an 8” round steel barrel. The barrel is large calibre .750 Musket calibre. The smooth bore has staining and residue consistent with age & use. The barrel has English black powder proofs. The pistol has heavy brass furniture including cudgel butt and it has a captive steel ram rod. The action plate is signed ‘Manton & Co London & Calcutta’. The all original walnut full stock has just light bumps and bruises to be expected with age. The price for this pistol by a famous maker includes UK delivery.
