An attractive Liege Belgium Proofed French “CHAMELOT & DELVIGNE ‘ 6 shot 12mm double action pin fire revolver made C1865. It has a 5 ½” Octagonal barrel. The cylinder, frame, barrel, trigger guard and lanyard ring are all German Silver . The metal is ornately engraved with panels of flowers, foliage and strap work. It has a captive ejector rod on the right. The breech is marked “CHAMELOT & DELVIGNE INon Btee”. The top of the cylinder is signed by the Argentine retailer “JUAN LOPEZ BUENOS AYRES”. The cylinder, frame and barrel have Liege proof marks. It has undamaged ebony grips deeply carved with vines in panel and is fitted with lanyard ring. It has a triangular pinched blade fore sight. Its rear blade sight is absent. The pistol is side gate loading and is fully functioning in both single & double action. Its bore has just light staining consistent with age and crisp rifling. An attractive highly decorated, Spanish 6 shot 12mm double action pin fire revolver, by “Fa. DE FRANCISCO LLUCH EIBAR”, C1865, 2 stage 5¾” barrel gold signed “Fa. DE FRANCISCO LLUCH EIBAR” in silver lined panel, with simple brass line inlay at the breech. The breech, cylinder and frame are attractively gold and silver damascened, with scrolls and leaves all within a silver border. It has a captive ejector rod on the right. It has undamaged ebony grips deeply carved with vines in panel and is fitted with lanyard ring. It has a triangular block fore sight and notched hammer rear sight. A Belgian 15 shot 7mm Chaineux double action pinfire revolver, c 1865, round barrel 5½” engraved “G.GOTH, CALLE SAN MARTIN 17, BUENOS AYRES” (retailer) with swing out ejector rod, finely chequered walnut grips, and lanyard ring. Made C1870 this very good revolver is side gate loading. It is double action only and fully functioning and has an undamaged chequered walnut grip. The barrel’s bore is clean with crisp rifling. The pistol has triangular form block fore sight and notched frame rear sight. The metal has even patina. The butt is fitted with military lanyard ring. An attractive, 6 shot 7mm Lefaucheux closed frame double action pinfire revolver, number 45950. It has a round barrel 3½” length with raised top rib. The barrel’s bore is clean with crisp rifling. The breech is stamped “E. LEFAUCHEUX INVR. BREVETE”. The frame and cylinder are inlaid with silver leaves and gold tendrils and lines, the barrel with simple silver line inlay. The pistol has a folding trigger, captive ejector rod , blade fore sight, notched plate rear sight & plain undamaged, antique ivory grips. Its double action firing mechanism works correctly in both single & double action. The revolver is contained in its close fitted blue velvet lined rosewood veneered case. The lid is brass bound with escutcheon within double line panel. The lid lining has gold blocked lettering “Bertonnet en Paris, Buenos-Ayres, y Montevideo” (most likely a retailer or finisher of pistols). The case contains accessories which include: turn screw with wood handle and antique ivory cap, cleaning rod (ebony cap chipped but stable), ebony oil bottle with antique ivory cap, compartment for cartridges, and key to the case. **QUALITY MAKER** C1850, French Nobleman’s LEFAURE A PARIS Double Barrel 20 Bore Muzzle Loading Percussion Shotgun With Inlaid Gold Decoration. Sn 17930 - 17930
The French gunsmith LeFaure was active from the late 18th century until the 1830s and trained under Nicolas-Noël Boutet: gunmaker for King Louis XVI and Napoleon Bonaparte and the artistic director of the armoury at Versailles. He is widely considered by many to be the most talented gunmaker in French history and heavily influenced many other gunmakers throughout the 19th century. LeFaure & his sons made quality Shotguns & pistols and had several patents of their own. This is an excellent double barrel shotgun made by LeFaure. It has excellent all original Walnut furniture with chequered panels at the wrist and fore stock. The top of the wrist has a gold escutcheon with engraved stylised Wolf’s head. The shotgun with double 28”, steel barrels, has double hammers & triggers. The barrel’s bore have been lightly used and are clean. It measures 45” overall. The barrel has a small post fore sight sat on traces of gold plated decoration and centre rib signed by the maker ‘LEFAURE A PARIS within panel and foliate decoration all inlaid in gold which is repeated on both sides of the action. The barrels have gold inlaid lines at the breech and inlaid silver breech roundels. The action, hammers and trigger guard with extended tang and Pineapple finial have quality foliate engraved decoration. The cocking & firing actions of the weapon work as they should. The shotgun has its original wood ram rod with brass end cap. The price for this quality piece includes UK delivery. **VERY RARE** British Board Of Ordnance George III Enfield 1849 Paget Rifled Barrel .700 Calibre Rifled Bore Cavalry Carbine With Attractive Tiger Stripe Stock. A 1059 - A 1059
These carbines were designed by General Henry Paget (1768-1854). See page 141 of British Military firearms 1650-1850 By Blackmore. The flintlock version was adopted by the British Army in 1808 and was the carbine of the English Cavalry until C1830. Percussion Paget Carbines with rifled barrels remained in British Cavalry service during the Victorian era. This is an excellent example of the rare Paget percussion carbine. It has even patina to the metal work throughout. It has a heavy military percussion hammer and the action plate is crisply stamped Crown GR (George Rex) together with inspection mark and ‘Tower’ (Enfield). Its 15 ¾” barrel (31 ¾”overall) has a rifled bore which is clean with crisp rifling. The top of the barrel is stamped with proof/inspection marks. It has the correct under barrel captive swivel ramrod. Its sights consit of a blade fore sight and ‘v’ notch plate rear sight. The carbine also has brass fore end block, trigger guard with extended tang & butt plate. It has all original wood stock which is stamped with ‘BO arrow’ Board Of Ordnance mark. The stock has an attractive Tiger stripe hue. It cocks & dry fires as it should. The price includes UK delivery.
