British No7 Mk1 Bayonet Scabbard and Frog. BAYO 552. - BAYO 552 This No7 Mk1 bayonet was made at Poole Arsenal in 1948. The bayonet is marked on the blade No7 MK1L on one side and P (within a circle) 1948 on the other side. Poole only made 30,000 out of a total of 330,000 of these bayonets this making this a scarce bayonet. The blade is clean as are the brown Tufnell grips. The swivelling pommel works as it should and is lightly stamped FC over B. The scabbard is the No5 Mk1 with a steel mouthpiece. The frog is a standard ’37 pattern webbing version. *Rare* British Trials Pattern FN FAL X2E1 Bayonet, X1E1 Scabbard Made In Belgium and Mills Equip. Co. Frog 1945 Dated. BAYO 192. - BAYO 192 A rare British trials pattern X2 E1 bayonet and scabbard. This is the Belgium F.N. bayonet and usually carries both the X2 E1 designation and a serial number matching the rifle. This is a shortened X2 E1 experimental bayonet which has a blade length 10mm shorter than the 201mm blade. There are claims that this was merely a shorter version of the 1st pattern but Skennerton states that it is more likely that the points were broken off and were re ground. The bayonet is for a NATO 7.62mm FAL Rifle in particular the X8E1, Type A 1953-61. The bayonet has the F.N. 'elastique' design pommel and catch and has two flash hider prongs, 1.6" long projecting forward of the muzzle ring. It measures 12 1/4" overall. It has dark wood smooth grips secured with screw bolts. It is stamped on the tang edge between the grips with 'X2 E1 9642' . The double edged blade is polished steel and measures 7 1/2" long. The scabbard is metal and on the throat it is stamped 'X1 E1' (See Page 256/7 of British and Commonwealth Bayonets by Skennerton). **Scarce** Trials Pattern FN FAL X2E1 Bayonet & X1E1 Scabbard. Sn 9872. - Sn 9872 A rare Trials X2 E1 Bayonet and scabbard. The bayonet is for a NATO 7.62mm FAL Rifle in particular the X8E1, Type A 1953-61. The bayonet has the F.N. 'elastique' design pommel and catch and has two flash hider prongs, 1.6" long projecting forward of the muzzle ring. It measures 12 ¾ " overall. It has dark wood smooth grips secured with screw bolts. The grips have some service wear to be expected. It is stamped on the tang edge between the grips with 'X2 E1' and with a struck out number together with '11456'. The double edged blade is polished steel and measures 7 ½ " long. The scabbard is metal, painted black and on the mouthpiece it is stamped 'X1 E1' (See Page 256/7 of British and Commonwealth Bayonets by Skennerton). 1939 Dated Nazi German K98 Bayonet By ‘Jos Corts Sn (Solingen)’ with Later Etched Blade ‘fallschirmjäger regiment’ ‘Mit Unseren Fahnen is der Sieg’ . BAYO 802 - BAYO 802 An original WW2 Nazi K98 rifle bayonet with later beautiful etching that makes this a collector’s piece in its own right. The 9 ¾ " single edged fullered blade is marked by the Nazi wartime manufacturer code marked at the ricasso ‘39’. The blade is numbered ‘2282’ and is beautifully etched on both sides with panels ‘Mit-unsern-Fahnen-ist-der-Sieg’ translated: (Our flag/colours will be victorious/with our flag comes victory) and ‘fallschirmjäger regiment’ (Paratrooper regiment) The Fallschirmjäger were the paratrooper branch of the German Luftwaffe before and during World War II. They were the first German paratroopers to be committed in large-scale airborne operations. Throughout World War II, the commander of the branch was Kurt Student. The pommel has an etched panel on one side ‘Parachute & Swastika within panel’. The pommel is Waffenamt and has original red felt in the mortise slot stamped ‘2822’. The bayonet has undamaged bakelite grips. Its steel scabbard is marked ‘1051’ and has the makers mark ‘A.S.W’ (E&F Horster Solingen). The ball end of the scabbard is Waffenamt. *Very Rare* German Sawback M1898/05 Bayonet and Steel Scabbard. BAYO 801. - BAYO 801 This is a rare sawback M1898/05 bayonet by a scarce maker; J.H.Becker & Co. Solingen. Anthony Carter in his book ‘German Bayonets, the models 98/02 & 98/05’, states that only a handful of bayonets with their trademark have been located, none of which have been dated. The sawback bayonets were probably made in 1916 and early 1917, before their manufacturing was suspended. It is contained in an Ersatz metal scabbard. The wooden slab grips are fully intact and are showing signs of age related use. The blade is in nice condition with slight staining due to age, J.H.Becker & Co is marked to one side. The scabbard has a few ‘impressions’ and a split to the bottom, but works as it should. This is an extremely rare bayonet and a must for the serious German bayonet collector. *Rare/Mint/Matching Numbers* ‘Argentinian M1909’ Sword bayonet, with Wood Grips & Blued Steel Scabbard By Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co, To Fit The M1891 Mauser Rifle. BAYO 800. - BAYO 800 An Argentine M1909 sword bayonet with wood grips and blued steel scabbard manufactured by Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co, to fit the M1891 Mauser rifle. This was the last variant with wood grips. The bayonet has wood grips, secured with two steel rivets. The pommel is white alloy and has an oval with "R.A." (faint) inside denoting 'Republic of Argentina. It has a push button release. It has a hooked quillon and muzzle ring. The blade is polished steel and has a single edge and fullers. The blade measures 15 ¾ “ long. It is in excellent condition. The ricasso is stamped on one side with "Modelo Argentino 1909" above the Argentine crest, below this is has a serial number "L8530". On the reverse it has "Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co Solingen". The inscription and crest were usually filed off before sale as obsolete and specimens with the full crest and inscription are very hard to find. The blued steel scabbard has a matching serial number stamped above the oval frog stud "L8530". This is a rare bayonet with matching numbers in excellent condition and as is to be expected of a German Manufactured bayonet, of top quality.
