*Mint* Indian Bayonet ‘No1 MkII* Scabbard & 37 Pattern Webbing Frog. BAYO 799. - BAYO 799 This is a virtually mint India pattern No1 MII* with the fullers to the blade and a false edge tip, these bayonets are special to India (the MkII has a conventional tip). The blued blade is marked to the ricasso with ‘MkII* 8 43’ (August 1943) & JU (unknown maker). The wooden slab grips are in near perfect condition. The scabbard is a cut down ‘No1’ with steel mounts inspection marks and leather body, the stitching and steelwork are in good condition. The frog is a green ‘37’ pattern webbing example. *U.S. Original ‘M1 Garand’ Bayonet and Scabbard. BAYO 798. - BAYO 798 This is a nice ‘M1 Garand’ bayonet with an new blade and not a cut down ‘M1905’ or ‘M1942’. The fullers do not run through to the tip as with the cut down bayonets, but stop 2 ¾ “from the tip. Unusually there are no markings to the blade. The grips are black ribbed plastic held by a single screwbolt. The scabbard is standard olive drab M7 made by Beckwith MFG. Co, again freshly made and not a cut down version. It is marked to the top mount with a flaming grenade and U.S. The grips are in good overall condition with a few age related marks *see images* See ‘White & Watts item 929 pages 412 & 436. British L1A3 Bayonet with NATO Stores Code & No.5 Scabbard. BAYO 797. - BAYO 797 This is a British L1A3 bayonet and scabbard (see Skennerton’s book, British & Commonwealth Bayonets Book, page 261, item B322). The bayonet was first adopted on the 31st December 1958. The bayonet has a blackened pommel. Both grips have the designation L1A3, NATO stores number 9600257. The 8” drop point steel blade is single edged and has fullers. There are no visible marks on the blade,B59 (1959) is stamped to one side of the ricasso. The obvious difference between its predecessors is the recessed locking bolt latch in the pommel, which required a new pommel casting. *Matching Numbers* Belgian ‘F.N. Model 1949’ Knife Bayonet and Scabbard. BAYO 796. - BAYO 796 This is an excellent ‘FN1949’ bayonet with virtually all of its blueing left on the blade. The pommel is marked with ‘S.A.30’ crown over ‘JF’ & ‘80562’ which denotes use by the Belgians themselves and not an export version. The ‘SA.30’ stands for semi-automatic 30 calibre. The number 80562 is also repeated on the scabbard mouthpiece. The wooden grips are showing signs of use related wear. The Belgian Army received 87,545 production rifles beginning in 1951, accounting for roughly half of all Model 1949 rifle production. The Model 1949 bayonet was the result of a request by Egypt, the second Model 1949 rifle purchaser, who wanted a shorter, thinner blade than the M1924/49 Long bayonet which had been produced for Venezuela. SOLD SOLD *Very Scarce* Bavarian ‘1871’ Rifle Bayonet and Scabbard to the 6th Reserve Infantry Regiment. Sn: 20073. - 20073 This is a very scarce Bavarian ‘1871’ rifle bayonet and scabbard to the 6th Reserve Infantry Regiment. It is in excellent condition and has a brass hilt, smooth on one side and with grooved panel on the reverse. The hilt has a flat spring on one side (fully working) and a steel cross guard with muzzle ring. The ricasso is stamped with the manufacturer mark ‘Weyersberg & Stamm, Solingen’. One side of the crossguard is marked with serial No: 63547 and the other ‘6 R.R. 178’ (6th Reserve Infantry Reg’t-1st Company Weapon No78). The single edged blade measures 46.7 cm (59.8 overall) and is in excellent condition with only minor signs of age related use. The leather and brass scabbard has an oblong loop for the Bavarian frog. The metalwork *Locket loose but not detached* and stitching *approximately 2 cm loose but not detached* are in good order. The price for this rare pair includes UK delivery. Sn: 20073. British ‘1903’ 3rd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment Pattern Bayonet and MkI Scabbard. BAYO 795. - BAYO 795 This is a newly made ‘1903’ bayonet and not a converted ‘1888’ pattern. The ricasso is marked with a crown over E.R. (Edward Rex) and ‘1903’. Below this are several dates and inspection stamps. The opposite side carries the broad arrow over ‘EFD’ (Enfield) and an inspection stamp. The pommel carries ‘3 YK’ denoting the 3rd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment (Alexandra Princess of Wales’ Own) and the number ‘568’.. The wooden grips are in good condition with a few use related marks. The blade is in fine condition with an nice aged patina. The scabbard is the standard ‘MkI’ as used by both the ‘1888’ & ‘1903’ patterns. The metalwork and leather stitching are all intact.
