French M1866 Chassepot Bayonet AND Scabbard. BAYO 699. - BAYO 699 This is a nice M1866 Chassepot bayonet made at St. Etienne in June 1874 and marked thus to the spine of the blade. Blade length 22 ¾”. Total length including scabbard 28”. It has a curved Yataghan blade and a brass ribbed grip with a steel leaf spring and push button. The crossguard is also steel ending in a quillon and is stamped with FG60868. The scabbard is black painted steel and has L87415 stamped to the rear of the throat. British L3A1 Bayonet, Scabbard and Two Frogs For the SA80 Rifle. BAYO 687. - BAYO 687 This is an excellent L3A1 bayonet which was introduced in 1985 to fit the new L85A1 service rifle. It was an innovative design incorporating many new features. The scabbard is made of Phonolite plastic and is contained in its green canvas sheath dated 1991. Also included is a white ceremonial plastic sheath. A nice complete set of the current British bayonet. See Skennerton item B329, PAGES 266 & 267. Also Martin J. Austrian M1895 Mannlicher Bayonet and Scabbard. BAYO 686. - BAYO 686 This is a nice other ranks M1895 Mannlicher bayonet. The blade is marked OE over WE (Oterreich Iche Waffen Fabrik Gesellschaft Steyr) and the double headed eagle denoting use by the Imperial forces and not for export. The blade is 9 ¾” in length and has rounded fullers. The cross guard is secured by 2 rivets, the grips are wood secured by domed rivets and the pommel is steel. The end of the pommel carries regimental markings of 94R 2682. The scabbard is steel with a brazed frog stud. See Martin J.Brayley An illustrated history of bayonets centre example on page 31. French Lebel M1886 First Pattern Bayonet, Scabbard & Scarce Frog BAYO 685 - BAYO 685 This is a nice 1st pattern Lebel bayonet with a white metal hilt, downswept quillon and a round button catch. This is an early model with the hilt fixed permanently to the tang, whereas later models had removable hilts with a screw nut fixing to the end of the hilt. The blade is the usual Lebel cruciform shape and the scabbard is black tubular steel with no dents or damage.length 20 ½ “. Total length including the scabbard 25 ¾”. The frog is the standard French leather version and these are becoming quite scarce. This is a lovely complete example of a 1st pattern iconic Lebel bayonet. Austrian Bayonet And Scabbard. - BAYO 684 This appears to be a dress bayonet similar to item 46 on page 22 of the bayonet book by White & Watts. However, it has regimental markings on the cross guard for the 33rd Infantry Regiment with the number 5920 below the other side of the cross guard is marked with 1270 OE. The blade is marked with OE over WG being the mark for the Osterreichiche Waffenfabrik Gesellschaft Steyr Factory. The other side has the double headed eagle denoting use by the Imperial army. The grips are wood held by two screw bolts and the scabbard is steel. An unusual bayonet for the collector of Austro-Hungarian bayonets. £225. BAYO 684. £225.00 |

Argentinian M1909 Bayonet and Scabbard. - BAYO 683 Argentinian M1909 Bayonet and Scabbard. This is a very nice M1909 bayonet with the Argentinian crest intact. These were usually ground off when the bayonets became obsolete and sold to other South American countries. This example has the feint Weyersberg Kirsch Baum & Co. Solingen on one side and Modelo Argentino 1090 over the Argentinian crest and G5117 on the other. The pommel also carries an R.A. in an oval denoting Republic of Argentina. The blade is 15 ¾” long, fullered and in excellent condition. The grips are wood held by domed rivets. The scabbard is blue steel in excellent condition and carries matching numbers to the blade i.e. G5117. The scabbard also has an impressed cross within a letter D and A circle with a cross. The mouth of the scabbard also has a circle with a cross and an A. The tip of the scabbard also carries the R.A. within an oval. A well-marked example with matching numbers and crest intact.
