French Model 1866 Chassepot Sword Bayonet With Brass Grip & Steel Scabbard. Bayo 49 - Bayo 49
This is a nice example of the French model 18466 Chassepot sword bayonet (See 'Bayonets From Janzen's Notebook' Page 69 item 1). This model was manufactured by several countries and this one has the 'Kings Head' trade mark Weyersberg on the blades ricasso. The U.S,A, also utilised this bayonet for the Remington Rolling Block rifle and this one could be one of the German export models. The steel single edged blade with fuller is undamaged with just light staining consistent with age. The blade is 22 1/2" long (27 1/4") overall. It has the correct steel hooked quillon with muzzle ring. It has a ribbed brass grip with flat spring and steel push button. It is complete with the correct scabbard made of sheet steel. Indian Pattern No 1 MK II* Bayonet with unfullered blade, complete with Original Long Scabbard. Bayo 47 - Bayo 47
An Indian Pattern No 1 MK II bayonet with unfullered blade and complete with the original long scabbard. This conforms to the No 1 MK II* style configuration but is marked on the blade as MK I*. This carries the date "1 43" denoting manufacture in January 1943 and the initials "JU" which is the unidentified factory listed in Skennerton's. As Skennerton states there were many anomalies during this period and there are many variations. The bayonet has an unfullered 12" long blade which is polished. It has slab grips secured by two screw bolts. The pommel has a push button release and clearance hole. The crossguard is straight. The ricasso is stamped on one side with inspection marks on one side and on the other with "MK I* 1 42 JU". The scabbard is the long scabbard and is leather with metal chape and locket. The scabbard has a large oval frog button and three rivets above. (see Skennerton's Page 347 to 351, item 154). This is a scarce bayonet and for collectors of the India Pattern bayonets, a desirable item. The price includes UK delivery. Bayo 47

WW1 Imperial German Model 1888/98 Ersatz Bayonet And Scabbard. BAYO 39 - Bayo 39
An original, excellent, example of a WW1 German Ersatz M88/98 bayonet with solid steel hilt. It has a half hoop, one piece stepped muzzle ring. (see page 143 & 153, No. 338 of The Bayonet Book by Watts & White). It has a 12 1/4" fullered blade which has just light staining consistent with age and is complete with it's original steel scabbard. The throat of the scabbard has a fixed locket and oval frog stud. Belgian M1916 Sword bayonet & Scabbard For The M1889 Mauser Rifle. Sn 10880:65 - 10880:65
A Belgian M1916 bayonet and scabbard for the M1889 Mauser Rifle. This has a blackened, shortened blade which was originally a 17 1/2" flat cruciform blade, shortened to just over 13". It has matching numbers "970" stamped on the cross guard edge and the frog stud on the scabbard. The number on the cross guard is "970.8.". One of the grips has what looks to be burn damage. (see White & Watts 'The Bayonet Book' item 97, page 26) This is not a common bayonet. The price includes Uk delivery. Sn 10880:65

WW1 German M88/98 All Steel Construction Ersatz Bayonet & Steel Scabbard. BAYO 17 - BAYO 17
A WW1 German M88/98 Ersatz bayonet and steel scabbard (see item 338, page 153 of The Bayonet Book By White & Watts). The all steel construction bayonet has a polished steel single edged blade with sharpened back edge point & central fuller. The blade measures 12” in length. It has a steel one piece cross guard with open muzzle ring. The back of the blade has a small inspection mark. The steel pressed steel grip has an oil hole near to the cross guard. It has a push button bayonet release which works correctly. The grip retains some original green paint. It is complete with its steel scabbard which has a tear drop frog stud. A Siamese (Thailand) Mauser Bayonet & Scabbard. Sn 10880:45 - 10880:45
An unusual Siamese (Thailand) Mauser Bayonet and Scabbard. These bayonets were imported bayonets and are marked on the ricasso and pommel with Siamese script. The wooden grips are secured with rivets as oppose to screw bolts. (see item 618, pages 275/276 in White & Watts 'The Bayonet Book'). The pommel has a push release which operates smoothly. The pommel is stamped on the top with Siamese script. It has a fixing mortise. The grips are secured with two rivets and are shaped. It has a straight crossguard with muzzle ring. The ricasso is stamped with Siamese script. The polished steel blade is in good condition and is fullered. It comes with the original steel scabbard which has an elongated tear frog stud.
