**RARE**PROTO-TYPE** Ron & Roy Middleton Sheffield (Sons Of The Now Deceased J.E. Middleton) Fighting Knife Form Dagger With Trial Blade & Scabbard. ED 2483 - ED 2483
Throughout the 1970’s and 1990’s the famous Sheffield cutlers J.E. Middleton & his sons Ron & Roy specialised in producing quality classic English & American design Bowies at their Rockingham Street, Sheffield premises. This is a proto-type Ron & Roy Middleton knife with trials fighting knife dagger blade. When these knives entered their stock lists they had straight blades without the curved cut outs near to the blade shank found on our example. It has a 6” polished steel dagger blade. The knife measures 10 ¾” overall length. The blade is stamped ‘R&R Middleton Sheffield’. It has a brass finger guard. The wood scales are secured by brass pins. It is complete with its near mint brown leather open top scabbard with brass riveted belt loop. All stitching & leather of the scabbard are intact. The belt loop is impressed with Ron & Roy’s stylised ‘RR’ mark. **RARE**ONE OF 7,000, 1960’s British Military Wilkinson Sword RJH Jungle Fighting Knife With Correct British 1908 Pattern Cavalry Sabre Handle & Scabbard. Sn 18667 - 18667
This is a scarce survival / fighting knife produced by Wilkinson Sword Co in the 1960's. Intended for the M.O.D approximately 7,000 knives were made. The M.O.D. didn't adopt the knife and they were eventually sent to the Far East and sold to the military as private purchase weapons (see page 123 of Flook's book ‘British & Commonwealth Military Knives). Our example has a clean polished 8” fullered Bowie blade and correct composite 1908 pattern Cavalry sword hilt which features chequered panels & thumb recess for grip. The blade is etched ' WILKINSON SWORD LONDON ENGLAND' on one side & ' RJH JUNGLE KNIFE' on the reverse. The hilt has the correct short brass finger guard and large brass pommel nut. The knife comes with its original brown leather scabbard which has an integral belt loop and retaining strap with press stud fastener. Late 1800's, Indian Jambiya Arab Knife With Polished Bone Hilt, Elephants Device Pommel & Curved Double Edged Etched Panels. ED 2480 - ED 2480
The Jambiya also known as the Arab knife is in some modification found in every country in which the Arabs have lived. The blade is always curved and double edged. The finest quality examples of these knives are found in Persia & India (see pages 310 to 314 of ‘A Glossary Of The Construction Decoration & Use Of Arms & Armour by Stone where many variants of Jambiya are described and illustrated). This is an excellent Indian Jambiya made sometime in the late 1800's. It has a typical 9 ¾” long double edged dramatically curved steel blade with correct medial ridges on both sides. Both sides of the blade have hand tooled decorative panels in Indian form. The solid polished bone hilt is undamaged and has scalloped steel fittings including pommel cap mounted with 2 Elephants (which adds to the indicators that this is an Indian piece). The dagger measures 14 ¾” overall length. As is common this Jambiya is without scabbard. The price includes UK delivery. ED 2480

Edwardian 1903-1904 Sterling Silver Samuel & Herbert Biggin (Cambridge Street) Sheffield Hunting / Skinner Knife With Stag Antler Grip & Scabbard. ED 2479 - ED 2479
This is an excellent Edwardian Sterling Silver mounted Hunting / Skinning Knife. The knife has a curved, clean, 10.3cm single edged stainless steel blade. The blade is faintly marked Sheffield England below indistinct manufacturer name (to faint to photograph). Its solid Stag antler hilt has ornate silver mounts (ferrule and pommel cap) with 1903-1904 sterling silver hallmarks ‘SBHB’ which is ‘Samuel & Herbert Biggin’ first registered at Cambridge Street Sheffield in July 1888. The knife has a small German silver finger guard. The knife measures 23.5cm overall. The knife is complete with its excellent original brown leather open top scabbard with single belt loop. This is a very good original Japanese Tanto with beautifully deep hand carved Ox Bone Handle & Scabbard. These items were popular with tourists visiting Japan. The Tanto blade has a cutting edge of 140mm with brass habaki and measures 266mm overall. The blade is clean and sharp. Its handle and scabbard made of the bone from the shin of an Ox are ornately hand carved with imagery of Japanese priests or noblemen & village scenery. This is an original German WW1 Hunting / Trench Fighting Dagger. It has a deer's foot handle with white metal plate at the foot end. It has a steel cross guard and ferrule. It has a 148mm double edged steel dagger blade with medial ridge. The blade has some staining most likely old blood at the tip end. The dagger measures 284mm overall length and is complete with original German silver mounted brown leather scabbard. The throat mount has a frog bar and the chape has a ball end. **RARE**Cased, Vietnam War U.S. Special Edition Presentation British Fairbairn Sykes FS Commando Fighting Knife Form Stiletto Dagger By Japan Sword Etched To The Airborne ‘5th Special Forces Group Vietnam’. ED 2475 - ED 2475
The 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) (5th SFG (A)) is one of the most decorated active duty United States Army Special Forces groups in the U.S. armed forces. The 5th SFG (A) saw extensive action in the Vietnam War and played a pivotal role in the early months of Operation Enduring Freedom. 5th Group—as it is sometime called—is designed to deploy and execute nine doctrinal missions: unconventional warfare, foreign internal defense, direct action, counter-insurgency, special reconnaissance, counter-terrorism, information operations, counterproliferation of weapon of mass destruction, and security force assistance. These Stiletto daggers by Japan Sword were based on the British FS fighting knife and were presented to numbers of the 5th Special forces group upon completion of tours in Vietnam (see page 136 of Thompson’s Commando dagger where he describes these daggers as “because of the mystique surrounding this unit in Vietnam this is probably the most sought after of the Special forces F.S’s”). This example has the correct FS form grip made up of 3 chequered sections separated by 2 un-chequered bands. The polished 170mm double edged blade with medial ridge is clean and correctly etched on one side ‘5th Special Forces Group Vietnam’. The cross guard is signed by the Japanese manufacturer ‘Japan Sword’ and has the crest of the 5th SFG. The dagger is contained in its original wooden case covered with green leatherette material. The case has a hinged lid and clasp fasteners. The inside of the case is lined with green felt. The interior is contoured to snugly fit the dagger. WW2 Era U.S.N. Marl 1 Fighting Knife and U.S.N. Mk1 Plastic Scabbard. ED 2564. - ED 2564
This is a very nice early Unitaed States Navy (U.S.N.) Mk1 knife made by Pal Blade Co. It is marked to the blade with U.S.N. Mk1 on one side and R.H. Pal 35 to the other side. It has a parkerised blade with a leather handle with black yellow and red spacers and a dull aluminium butt. See U.S. Military Knives by M.H.Cole item 23, page 81 for the identical knife. It is contained in its grey plastic scabbard marked to the front with U.S.N. Mk1 and to the rear with Nord – 8114 over B.M.Co 1/1 V.P. Markings highlighted with chalk which can be wiped. Scandinavian Sami Knife and Leather Sheath. ED 2563. - ED 2563 / 18407
This is a very nice ‘Sami’ knife which means big knife in Finnish. This example has a 6” blade with a fuller on one side and marked Holger Andreasen A.S. to the other. There is a brass ferrule and a wooden handle which is usually birch for better grip in snowy conditions. The scabbard is typically Scandinavian made of leather with an integral belt loop.
