Imperial German Deer Hunting Skinning Knife By Stephan Nenning Munchen With Stag Horn Handle, Silver Mounts & Sheath With Ornate Silver Mounts. ED 2160 - ED 2160
This is an original Imperial German era Deer hunting skinning knife with original sheath. It has a Stag Horn handle with plain Silver pommel cap. It also has a Silver ferrule ornately engraved with an Oak leaf design. The knife has a 4" single edged blade with integral finger guard and is crisply marked on one side by the manufacturer or retailer ‘Stephan Nenning Munchen’. The blade is undamaged and has staining consistent with age. There is no damage to the blade and the cutting edge is sharp with no nicks. It measures 7 ¾” overall length. The dagger is complete with original black leather sheath which has a silver chape and throat mount. Both are ornately decorated with Oak leaves and panels featuring Stags in the field and banners & arms. All leather and stitching are intact. VERY RARE, WW1 Gallipoli Bring Back, German Made Turkish Contract Machine Gun Crews Trench Fighting Knife With Integral Fold Out Tools In The Hilt, Scabbard & Frog. Sn 13885 - 13885
Although this piece has no visible German manufacturer marks it is of the quality and form of the type of WW1 era German made Turkish Army contract knives most likely issued to machine gun crew’s and would likely have been in service at Gallipoli. The knife has the appearance of a knife bayonet but no apparent means of fitting to a rifle. It has slab wood grips secured by rivets. The grips are undamaged. The grip frame is slotted and has 2 integral hinged fold out tools consisting of a 2 ¼” long shank spike with thumb lever and 2 ¼” slim pyramid shaped spike with side slot for thumbnail opening. The knife measures 12" overall and has a 7 ¾” single edged blade with fullers. The blade has just light staining consistent with age. Its returning wave cross guard has what appears to be Turkish script characters on both sides. The knife is complete with its original steel scabbard which has a frog bar and ball end. The scabbard has no dents. The scabbard is fitted with its original brown leather frog with integral belt loop. The leather and stitching of the frog are intact. C1800 Aikuchi Japanese Tanto & Scabbard With Kozuka Short Knife & Samurai Hair Pin. Sn 13576 - 13576
This is a C1800 Japanese Aikuchi (dirk without a guard) in its original scabbard. The Aikuchi is 13” overall with a 9” single edge clean steel blade which has nice hamon. The tang is unsigned. It has a ray skin handle bound with green cord and decorated with brass Menuki. The scabbard is brown laquered wood and is fitted with its original Kozuka (small knife). The Kozuka is 6 ¾” overall length with a decorated brass handle. The scabbard also has a removable 4 ½” long flat brass pin with engraved decoration most likely a type of hair pin used by Samurai warriors. The Kozuka and pin sit firmly within the purpose made cut out sections of the scabbard at the throat. This is an excellent, original and complete Aikuchi. The price includes UK delivery. Sn 13576

WW2 U.S.M.C. MK 1 Ka-Bar Fighting Knife & Leather Sheath. ED 2133 - ED 2133
This is an original MK 1 WW2 U.S. Ka-Bar fighting knife in its correct leather sheath. The grip is constructed of the correct compressed laminated leather washers with four grooves and with plastic spacers top and bottom. It has an alloy cross guard which is stamped "Ka-Bar Olean N.Y." and a 150 mm polished bowie blade. The pommel is alloy and oval. It is complete with a heavy duty leather sheath with belt loop and retaining strap with working brass press stud fastener. According to M.H. Cole in his book 'US Military Knives", no two of the U.S.N. Mark I are identical. Each manufactures had its own variations and as such a huge collection of different types can be amassed. Late Victorian Masonic Knife With Ebony Handle Inlaid With Mother Of Pearl Studs By Henry Hobson & Sons Sheffield Blade Engraved ‘Masonic Lodge No 51’ & Leather Sheath. Sn 12516:1 - 12516:1
Henry Hobson & Sons were Sheffield based cutlers. The business was established in Sheffield by Henry Hobson in 1845. A London branch was opened in 1852 and later styled George Hobson & Sons. Their Queen Street factory moved to Carver Street (1901) and then to Eyre Lane, Sheffield (1912). This is an attractive sheath knife by Hobson & Sons with sheath in late Victorian form. It has an ebony handle with raised edges inlaid with mother of pearl studs. It has a German Silver cross guard and a 5” spear point blade with medial ridge. The blade has staining consistent with age but no damage. The blade has a later applied engraving ‘Masonic Lodge No 51’. The knife measures 9” overall length. Its original brown leather open top sheath has a stitched seam and single belt loop. All leather & stitching of the sheath are intact. The Case Cutlery Company USA made stiletto type fighting knives during WW1. They were often privately purchased by American soldiers (see page 63 plate 296 of Fighting Knives by Stephens). This is an original Case Cutlery fighting knife and scabbard. The knife has a single edge 6 ¼” blade, with an overall length of 10 ¼”. The original grips are wood secured by 3 rivets. The ricasso is stamped by the manufacturer ‘Case’. It is complete with its original riveted and stitched brown leather scabbard with integral belt loop and retaining strap with press stud fastener. LIMITED EDITION NUMBER 16 OF 161 Cased Dagger Made With An Unused & Unissued Original Uzi SMG Bayonet Blade With Wood Handle & Brass Cross Guard With Muzzle Ring In The Original Uzi Bayonet Form By The Israeli Society Of Edged Weapon Collectors. Sn 12329 - 12329
This dagger is one of only 161 commissioned by the The Israeli Society Of Edged Weapon Collectors. Each of the daggers in the production run were made using original unused, unmounted and unissued Uzi sub machine gun knife bayonet blades. The hilt and cross guard were designed after the original bayonet hilt and cross guard of the Uzi bayonet. A certificate of authenticity in English & Hebrew text, which accompanies the weapon states that ‘No more original bayonet blades are available, neither more such daggers will be produced’. The knife is in excellent condition. The single edged bayonet blade with medial ridge is clean and measures 6 ¾” length (11” overall). The blade is decorated with the crossed swords logo of The Israeli Society Of Edged Weapon Collectors together with Hebrew script and blade number ‘016’. The polished wood slab grips are secured by 2 brass screw bolts and the small brass cross guard has a small muzzle ring. The dagger is contained in its later felt covered wooden case. French Indo China / Vietnam War Era Aluminium Handled Combat Dagger & Scabbard. Sn 11854 - 11854
These Combat knives were carried by French Troops during the Indo China War in the 1950’s and American Troops found them still in service with the Vietnamese during the Vietnam War (see page 122 of The Military Knife & Bayonet By Brett) . This original example has the correct 1 piece cast Aluminium handle with finger guard & stippled panels on either side. It has a 6” single edged blade with short fuller on one side. The blade has staining and areas of pitting consistent with age and service use. It is complete with original leather scabbard which has an integral belt loop with retaining strap and press stud fastener. All rivets stitching and leather of the scabbard are intact. Fred James Sheffield Hand Made 'I*XL Canadian Hunting Knife' Bowie With Etched Blade, Ivorine Grips With Mother Of Pearl Inlays & Sheath. Sn 11960 - 11960
Before his death in 1986 Fred James was one of Sheffield's best known Bowie Knife makers. He began his career in 1935 at Johnson's Portobello Works & continued work at Wostenholm's Washington Works in 1956. In 1971 when the companies of Wostenholm and Rodgers merged, James began his own knife making business (see pages 214-215 of The Sheffield Knife Book By Tweedale). This handmade Fred James 'Canadian Hunting Knife' is in excellent condition. The knife has Ivorine scales with Mother of Pearl roundel inlays and brass cross guard with clipped edge decoration. The deep swept 6” Bowie blade has a tooled back edge and is etched on one side with banner containing wording ‘The Real I*XL Knife’ above bold lettering ‘Canadian Hunting Knife'. The ricasso is stamped "F.W James Sheffield". The Bowie is 10 ½” overall length. The Bowie is complete with a black leather sheath which has tooled decoration to the front. A silver bladed hallmarked 1908-1910 Sheffield pocket knife with mother of pearl slabs manufactured by Allen & Darwin of Sheffield. The knife has very nice mother of pearl slabs which are secured with three pins. On one there is a silver inlaid name plate with "Percy" engraved on it. See the photographs. The blade is hallmarked silver and has the makers mark "A & D" (Allen & Darwin). The blade is in excellent condition and locks out firmly and with no play. It closes and is firm when closed.
