**UNAVAILABLE**17/1/24**1897 - 1900 Dutch Wilhelm Von Kreyfelt Rotterdam Holland Martini Action 10.4 x 38R Swiss Vetterli Obsolete Calibre Sporting / Target Rifle With Octagonal Barrel. Sn 14619 - 14619 Wilhelm Von Kreyfelt was a Dutch gunmaker active around 1870 until 1900. Little is known about Von Kreyfelt other than he made or modified this Martini action sporting / target rifle which is in10.4 x 38R Swiss Veterli, an obsolete calibre. It has a rotating bolt feature which allows the use of both rim fire and centre fire rounds in that calibre. The right side of the action is signed ‘WILH. VON KREYFELT, ROTTERDAM’. It has a double scroll trigger guard/cocking lever, walnut half stock, the right side of the butt inset with an oval brass panel engraved "J.VAN SILLEVOLUT, ROTTERDAM", the left side with raised cheek piece. It has a curved steel butt plate, two sling swivels and brass ramrod. It has an 86cm octagonal blued steel barrel with bow type rear sight and block and blade fore sight. The left side of the barrel is numbered 852. The barrel’s bore is clean with crisp rifling. The rifle measures 129cm overall length. Its loading and firing actions work as they should. Large Victorian, Heavy Construction 20 Bore Large Game Percussion Sporting Gun For Ball. Sn 14311 - 14311 This is a large Victorian era percussion sporting gun for ball. It is 20 bore and has a 33" stepped round to octagonal brown barrel (49” overall). Its bore has just light staining to be expected with age and use. It has all original undamaged Walnut stock with chequered wrist & steel butt plate. The trigger guard has an extended tang with acanthus bud finial. The action and Dolphin hammer have engraved scrollwork decoration. The barrel has a small blade foresight and it has a ‘v’ notch block rear sight. The stock has a polished horn fore end block. The weapon has its original brass ram rod. There are no visible external manufacturer or proof marks on this weapon. The gun’s firing action works perfectly. **UNAVAILABLE**American Hopkins & Allen Arms Company 1870 Patent .41 Cal Rim Fire Single Shot (Colt) 'XL' Derringer with Pivot Octagonal Barrel. Sn 14246 - 14246 Hopkins & Allen Arms Company was a U.S. firearms manufacturing company based in Norwich, Connecticut that was founded in 1868 by Charles W. Allen, Charles A. Converse, Horace Briggs, Samuel S. Hopkins and Charles W. Hopkins. The Hopkins brothers ran the day-to-day operations of the company until it went bankrupt in 1916 and was subsequently bought by Marlin-Rockwell. Known as the ‘XL’ range of pistols, these derringers & revolvers were one of many revolvers based on S&W and Colt Patents produced in the 1860’s through to the late 1870s with dynamic or quirky names to attract sales. This is an original .41 Cal Rim Fire ‘XL’ derringer of the type made by Hopkins and Allen similar in design to Colt’s patent derringers. Our ‘XL’ derringer has a nickel plated steel frame with a sheathed trigger. Most of its original nickel plating is present. Its 2 ½” steel barrel pivots for loading which is achieved by depression of a steel button under the frame when the pistol is at half cock. The barrel pivots as it should and is tight. Its rifled bore has staining and residue consistent with age and use. The top of the barrel is signed ‘XL Derringer’ and one of the barrel flats is marked ‘Pat Apr 5 1870’. It has its original American Rosewood grips which are in very good condition and secured with a single recessed brass screw bolt. Its loading and firing actions work perfectly. There are no other external visible numbers or manufacturer’s marks on this piece. RARE, 1856-1874, American Wild West Era Merwin & Bray New York Single Shot .30 Rim Fire Calibre, Brass Framed Derringer With Octagonal Pivot Barrel. Sn 14247 - 14247 The American Joseph Merwin was involved with marketing and manufacturing revolvers as early as 1856. Based in New York City he formed an arms company known as Merwin & Bray. The company ceased trading under that name by 1874. This is an excellent example of the Merwin & Bray derringer which are hard to find. It has a brass frame with even patina & original American Walnut grip which has just the knocks bumps and bruises consistent with age. It has a 3 ¾” octagonal steel barrel & measures 6 ¾” overall. The bore has faint rifling & staining consistent with age & use. It has a sheathed trigger and brass blade foresight. The rear sight consists of a notch in the hammer spur. The top of the barrel is signed by the manufacturer ‘Merwin & Bray New York’. The derringer's loading and firing actions work perfectly. There are no other visible external manufacturer marks or numbers on this piece. The barrel pivots for loading at half cock and the barrel is released for loading by depression of a small steel button on the underside of the action. C1850 Victorian British Officer's Private Purchase Percussion Rifled 13 Bore Fusil Musket Saddle Carbine. Sn 14111 - 14111 This is a very good British Officer's Private Purchase Percussion Fusil saddle carbine made C1850. It has 20” long round steel barrel and measures 35 ½” overall. The bore has just light staining consistent with age and crisp rifling. Its walnut full stock has just minor bumps and bruises and is all original with no damage. It has brass fittings including forend block, butt plate, ramrod mounts and trigger guard with extended tang. The action has a plain steel side plate and heavy military hammer. The top of the barrel is stamped with proof marks. The stock has also has a brass plate engraved ‘Bore 13’. The weapon has its original steel ramrod. Victorian Era Nickel Plated Continental 7mm Pinfire 6 Shot Revolver With Folding Trigger & Octagonal Barrel. Sn 13721 - 13721 This is an excellent 7mm calibre, 6 shot, pin fire pocket revolver. It has a 3 ¼” octagonal barrel (7 ½” overall). It has attractive embossed and chequered gutta percha grips which are undamaged. The frame, barrel, grip strap and cylinder are decorated with an attractive engraved foliate design. It has its original captive ejector rod and blade fore sight. The pistol retains its original nickel plated finish which has just small areas of scuffing consistent with age and use. The frame, cylinder and underside of the barrel have crisp Continental ‘double crown over letter U’ inspection marks. It is side gate loading, has a folding trigger and is fully functioning with a crisp action. C1830 English, W. Bond London, 40 Bore Brass Flintlock Pocket Pistol With Screw Off Barrel & Concealed Trigger. Sn 13560 - 13560 A large family of English Gunsmith’s named Bond had premises at various London addresses including at 108 Leadenhall Street, 45 Cornhill and at 'The Golden Blunderbuss' 59 Lombard Street, between 1762 & 1879. The Bond's made and supplied firearms to The British East India Company. A member of that family William Thomas Bond is recorded as working as a Gunsmith on his own at the family addresses in 1836. A William Bond is also recorded as working as working with Edward Bond at 45 Cornhill 1826-1855 and Northumberland Alley London 1871-1879 (see page 143 of British Gunmakers Vol 1 by Brown). This is a nice brass flintlock pocket pistol by W. Bond made C1830. The pistol is 6” overall with a 1 ½” screw off smoothbore brass barrel which is .486” at the muzzle opening (approx. 40 Bore). On the left side it is engraved 'W. Bond London'. The right ‘London’. It has a sliding safety, folding concealed trigger and the hammer is fitted with flint. The action works as it should with a strong spring. It has impressed proof /inspection marks on the underside of the frame. Its walnut bag shaped grip has fine chequering and is inlaid with a void silver roundel. The price includes UK delivery. Victorian British Hollis & Sons Gun Makers To Her Majesty’s War Department British Cavalry Officer’s Private Purchase .600” Calibre, Percussion Cavalry Carbine With Saddle Bar & Ring. Sn 13329 - 13329 Isaac Hollis and Sons were London based Victorian gun makers recorded as operating in 1861. Throughout the years, Hollis manufactured quality sporting firearms and rifles for the British Government. About 1915, Hollis merged to form the company of Hollis, Bentley and Playfair. They remained in business until 1935. This is a percussion Cavalry Carbine by Isaac Hollis & Sons, no doubt a Cavalry Officer’s private purchase weapon. It is in excellent condition. It has all original walnut stock and original finish to the metal work. It has a heavy military percussion hammer and the lock plate is crisply ‘I. Hollis & Sons’ together with trademark roundel with wording ‘Makers To Her Majesty’s War Department’. Its 21" barrel (37” overall) has a clean .600” calibre bore with crisp 3 groove rifling. The top of the barrel is stamped with inspection marks. It has a graduated ‘100,200, 300 yards’, block & 2 leaf rear sight and block & blade fore sight. It has an under barrel captive steel ramrod. The carbine also has brass fore end block, trigger guard & butt plate. It is complete with original steel saddle bar & ring. The stock is marked ‘I. Hollis & Sons Gunmakers’ (illustrated). Rare & Original Napoleonic Era French Spontoon / Pike With Napoleonic Eagle Etched Blade. A 12 / 5001 - A12 / 5001 This is an original French Napoleonic era Spontoon / Pike. It has a wood shaft with no end cap. It is 82 ¼” overall length. The removable crossbar has pyramid ends and is 5 ½” width. The leaf shaped spear point blade with medial ridge is 11” length. One side of the blade is etched with the Napoleonic Eagle. It is secured to the shaft by a 3 ½” long steel ferrule with 4 ½” riveted steel straps. The shaft is undamaged and the metal has even patina. Due to the size of this item delivery will be by arrangement and within the UK only. A12 / 5001. QUALITY, C1860 Victorian English 15 Bore Double Barrel Muzzle Loading Percussion Hammer Shotgun. Sn 12661 - 12661 This is a quality made Victorian double barrel percussion shotgun. It has 30” brown wash steel barrels and measures 46” overall. The 15 Bore barrels set side by side have a central flat top barrel rib. The smooth bores are in superb clean condition. It has its original walnut stock which has just the bumps and bruises to be expected with age and use. Its steel butt plate tang, trigger guard with extended tang & hammers have light foliate engraved decoration. The fore stock has German silver mounts. The wrist is inlaid with void German silver escutcheon. The barrels have German Silver inserts at the breech. Both side plates have foliate decoration together with scenes of hunting dogs in the field. The shotgun is fitted with bead foresight and has its original wood ramrod with brass end caps. Surprisingly for a shotgun of this high quality there are no visible manufacturer’s names on this piece. The weapon cocks & dry fires as it should. Price includes UK delivery. NB.
