1970’s Spanish, El Gamo Military Pattern A.S.I. Paratrooper Single Shot .22 Calibre Break Action Air Rifle. AI 721 - AI 721 During the 1970`s the Spanish Air Weapon manufacturer El Gamo produced their Paratooper Air Rifles. They were available in both single shot and repeater form. This is a good single shot example. It has a Military type plastic figured shoulder stock with recoil pad and pistol grip. It measures 38” overall with an 18” rifled barrel. It is fitted with original adjustable rear sight stamped with Deer’s head trademark & shrouded blade fore sight. The top of the air cylinder is marked by the manufacturer ` El Gamo` with the manufacturer`s logo and `Made in Spain`. The barrel block is stamped .22 Calibre detail and serial number ‘9953. It`s loading & firing action work crisply. The right side of the frame has remnants of its its original label ‘ A.S.I. Paratrooper Accurate Fire-Power’. The price includes UK delivery. 1947-1951, B.S.A Cadet .177 Calibre Break Action Air Rifle,‘BA’ prefix serial number. AI 716 - AI 716 This is a B.S.A Cadet .177 Calibre Air Rifle. BSA was responsible for the production of over 50% of all British small arms produced during WWII. In 1945 they decided to increase their air rifle production, and introduce their new Cadet air rifle. The Cadet when new, was capable of putting out 8ft/lb and was advertised as being able to take rabbits out to 50 yds. The rifle was popular amongst young adults and adults alike. This Cadet has a ‘BA’ prefix serial number ‘BA82130’ which dates it to between 1947-1951 (see Page 34 of Hiller’s Book 'The Collectors Guide to Air Rifles'). The woodwork is showing signs of age related use, and there is evidence of a repair to the top of the butt. The metalwork has a nice patina, with small marks to the rear of the cylinder and the underside of the barrel. It has a 15" clean rifled barrel and measures 37 ½” overall. It has a winged blade fore sight and fixed rear sight. The stock is crisply impressed with the BSA Legend (illustrated). The loading and firing actions work as they should. *Early Model* 1959-1962 B.S.A Meteor Mk 1 .22 Calibre Break Action Air Rifle 'T' Prefix Serial Number. AI 715 - AI 715 The BSA Meteor is a break barrel spring powered rifle first made in Birmingham, UK, in 1959 by The Birmingham Small Arms Company and the first BSA air rifle engineered to fit a telescopic sight. It is one of the world’s bestselling air weapons with over 2 million sold worldwide. Marketed as an introductory rifle for plinking, hunting and firearm training as a replacement for the BSA Cadet, it is available in .177 (4.5 mm) and .22 (5.5 mm) calibre with standard or carbine length barrels. The spring and piston are compressed by breaking the barrel through 125° before loading a pellet directly into the breach. The barrel is then returned into place and secured with a detent lock. The single-stage trigger is adjustable for pressure. The sights are metal with the front sight being able to be switched from a bead to a blade and the rear adjustable sight could switch between a "V" and "square notch". The cylinder has two shallow grooves to accept a telescopic sight. The top of the barrel is stamped ‘BSA GUNS LTD ENGLAND’ followed by a BSA piled arms symbol and the air chamber is stamped ‘BSA METEOR’ to the fore of the scope grooves. The rifle is in very good condition, with a nice aged patina to the bluing, with only a few age related marks to the barrel. The stock is nicely aged showing signs of use *Butt end underside is showing signs of wear*. The rifle is firing at a respectable 7.81 ft/lbs. The price includes UK postage. An "ORIGINAL" Model 50E .22 Air Rifle AI 702 - AI 702 A German ''Original'' model 50E .22 cal. underlever action air rifle, with 'Tap Loader', adjustable V and bead sight, no serial number, fitted with unmarked plain wooden stock and plastic butt plate. The rifle is 45 inches overall, shrouded front sight, adjustable rear sight and three quarter length stock, 45 " long. The model 50 is an underlever spring-piston air rifle that came in both .177 and .22 calibres, with the .22 not being as common, since the 50 was seen as a target gun and Europeans were already using .177 calibres for that. Maybe .22 was a nod toward marketing Americans, with whom the larger calibre was much more favoured. The 50e was made between 1952 and 1965. The rifle retains around 50%of its original blueing. The butt plate and trigger guard have age related marks. Made in Germany and ‘Original Mod 50e’ is marked to the cylinder.The rifle cocks, loads and fires with a nice tight action. Boxed, Pre 1939 Webley Junior Series 1 .177 Calibre Air Pistol. 19259:9. - 19259:9 Post WW2 Junior Series 2 air pistol’s had shorter barrels than the pre War Series 1 Juniors. They also have plastic stock plates rather than tin stock plates which were fitted to 1st Series pistols. This is a pre War boxed Webley Junior Series 1 .177 Calibre Air pistol (see page 96 of Webley Air Pistols by Gordon Bruce). It is undamaged and finished in the white. It has the correct ribbed tin plate grips. The left side of the cylinder is stamped 'The Webley Junior .177 Patented In Great Britain No 219872 And All Principal Countries’. The left side of the cylinder is also marked ‘Made In England’. The right side has ‘Webley & Scott LTD Birmingham’. The frame is numbered ‘J20700’. ‘700’ is repeated on the front of the cylinder. It has a blade foresight, adjustable rear sight and it cocks and fires as it should. It is contained in its original Brown background Webley labelled cardboard box with vivid Webley pistol imagery, Junior model detail and Webley's Birmingham address. Post 1958 Boxed Webley Junior .177 Calibre Air Pistol with Original Webley pellets. 19259:8 - 19259:8 This is an excellent boxed Webley Junior .177 Calibre Air pistol (see pages 95 to 108 of Bruce’s book ‘Webley Air Pistols’). It is undamaged with original blue finish. It has the correct black plastic grips with embossed Webley logos. The left side of the cylinder is stamped 'The Webley Junior .177 Webley & Scott Ltd Birmingham Made In England'. The front of the cylinder is stamped with serial / batch number '320'. It has a blade foresight & adjustable rear sight and it cocks and fires perfectly crisply. The plastic grips are unmarked and the pistol retains 75% of its original bluing. The pistol’s rifled bore is clean. It is contained in its original Webley labelled cardboard box which contains the original small envelope containing approx. 30 x .177 calibre pellets. Boxed, Pre 1958, Webley Junior .177 Calibre Air Pistol. 19259:7 - 19259:7 This is an original boxed Webley Junior .177 Calibre Air pistol. It is undamaged with original finish and black plastic grips with embossed webley logos. The left side of the cylinder is stamped 'The Webley Junior .177 Webley & Scott Ltd Birmingham 4 Made In England' (In 1958 Webley relocated their factory from Birmingham 4 to Birmingham 21 Postal area. Weapons produced after 1958 were marked either Birmingham or Birmingham 21). See ‘Webley Air Pistols’ By Gordon Bruce pages 43 & 123. The front of the cylinder is stamped with serial number '1550'. The barrel and cylinder are showing wear to the underside. The plastic grips are in excellent condition. It has a blade foresight & adjustable rear sight and it cocks and fires perfectly with a strong spring action. It is contained in its original Webley labelled cardboard box with vivid Webley pistol imagery, Junior model detail and Webley's Birmingham 4 address. 1923 B.S.A. No. 1 Model (Aka 'L' Or Light/ Ladies Model) .177 Calibre Under Lever Air Rifle. AI 685 - AI 685 This is a very good B.S.A. No. 1 Model . 177 calibre, Under Lever Air Rifle. Also known as the 'L' or Ladies/ Light model it measures 39 ½” overall with a 17" barrel. It has a lovely wood stock with unblemished fine chequered panels at the wrist. The underside of the shoulder stock is impressed ’14 ½’ (length and has other impressed inspection marks. The ribbed butt has a trap (cover absent). The metal work is undamaged with an even patina throughout and is crisply stamped with the correct 'L' prefix serial number on the trigger block ' L21896' which dates it to 1923 (see page 27 of the Collectors Guide to Air Rifles By Hiller) and the breech is marked ‘Load 1’.
