1960’s Webley Mark 3 .22 Calibre Under Lever Air Rifle With ‘A’ Prefix Serial Number. AI 691 - AI 691
Webley introduced their Mark 3 series of air rifles in 1947. In 1961 Webley began producing Webley MK 3 air rifles with a telescopic sight rail spot welded to the top of the air cylinder (see Page 237 to 243 of Hiller’s Book 'A Collectors Guide to Air Rifles'). The attractive tiger stripe hue woodwork and metal work of this example are in very good undamaged condition. The stock has a void inlaid roundel and a rubber recoil pad. It has an 18 ¾” clean rifled barrel with loading tap and measures 43 ½” overall. The underlever is stamped with serial number 'A 2585'. The air chamber has its original spot welded sight rail and the weapon is marked with model and manufacturer detail (illustrated). It has a shrouded block & blade fore sight and adjustable dial rear sight. The loading and firing actions work crisply. The price includes UK delivery. **RARE**FACTORY SPECIAL ORDER NICKEL OR CHROME PLATED**Early 1970's Webley Premier 'E' Series .22 Calibre Air Pistol. Sn 20709:34 - 20709:34
The Webley Premier 'E' series was introduced in 1972. The 'E' Series designation was stamped on the frame near to or under the left grip together with serial number. Early examples had Brown Plastic Grips (see 119/120 of Webley Air Pistols By Bruce). This is a rare to find Webley Factory special order nickel or chrome plated example in .22 Calibre. It is undamaged and has the early brown plastic grips with embossed Webley logos. The original plated finish has just small areas of age related tarnish. The left side of the cylinder is stamped 'The Webley Premier Made In England' and with the Company’s name and Birmingham address. The barrel block has calibre detail .22. The frame is stamped with the correct ‘E’ (Series designation). The front of the cylinder is stamped with serial or batch number ‘852’. It has a blade foresight & adjustable rear sight. DIANA MODEL 23 .177 Air Rifle. 20772:10 - 20772:10
This Diana Model 23 is marked ‘Made in Great Britain’ with the Diana trademark on the cylinder (which later changed to British Made), these were made by Millard Bros Ltd in Motherwell, Lanarkshire between the late 1940's and 1974, it's marking indicates it was from the earlier period of manufacture, it has been re-blued at some point in its lifetime. The barrel shows some pitting underneath the paint but which has the correct V blade sights. The stock has retained most of its varnished finish and is relatively mark free; it bears no visible serial number. The rifle cocks, loads and fires with a nice tight action. The stocks grip has the odd age related mark. Weighing 1.75kg and 95 cm in length it was clearly aimed at the ‘Childs first gun’ market. The price includes UK delivery. The Colt 1911 ranks as one of the most successful military designs ever developed. 1974-78 BSA Meteor (Super) MK. IV .22 Air Rifle with BSA Scope and Bag. 20772:1. - 20772:1
This is a very nice example of the MK IV Super Meteor in .22 Calibre. The small frame rifle is 41 ½” overall with an 18 ¼” barrel. It has a wood stock with ribbed butt *slight marks to the left hand side fore, middle and butt*. The metal work retains all of its original blue finish. It has a ramp block and blade fore sight & adjustable target rear sight. The top of the cylinder is milled for scope mounts and is correctly marked 'BSA Meteor' (without arrows as found on standard Meteors). It has the correct drilled hole for sight relocation. The rifle's serial number 'TG31497' which identifies the rifle as a .22 calibre MK IV Meteor (see page 44 of The Collector's Guide to Air Rifles by Hiller). The barrel's bore is clean with crisp rifling and it cocks and fires as it should with a strong spring action. The rifle comes with an original BSA scope and end caps. The price includes UK delivery.
