1955 – 1962 Cadet Major .177 Calibre Break Action Air Rifle,‘CC’ prefix serial number. AI 788. - AI 788 A nice BSA (Birmingham Small Arms) Cadet Major air rifle in .177. Dimensions, overall length:42”. Stock length: 684mm. Barrel length: 468mm. Weight:2.5kg. Earlier stocks on both models had a cross grain strengthener in the grip and the rear trigger guard screw held the action to the stock, sometime around 1948 this changed to a more traditional locking stock bolt. The Major comes with an adjustable rear sight. See ‘The Collectors Guide To Air Rifles’ pages 35-38 by Dennis.E.Hillier. This example is still retains its original blueing. The serial number is printed on the left hand side at the very rear of the cylinder : CC01286 which dates the gun between 1955 and 1962. The wooden stock is in excellent condition and looks to have been restored to a deep shine ‘The Birmingham Small Arms Co Ltd – Cadet Major .177 Air Rifle- Made in England’ with the BSA legend which is marked on top of the cylinder. 1962 – 1966 B.S.A. Meteor MKII .22 ‘TA’ Prefix Air Rifle with Original B.S.A. Scope. AI 786. - AI 786 Birmingham Small Arms introduced the Meteor Air rifle in both .177 & .22 calibre in 1959. MK 1 rifles were produced until 1962 when the MK II model was introduced. MK II production continued until 1968. The small frame rifle is 41 ½”overall with an 18” barrels. The cylinder has two shallow grooves to accept a telescopic sight. The top of the barrel is stamped BSA GUNS LTD ENGLAND followed by a BSA piled arms symbol and the air chamber is stamped BSA METEOR between the scope grooves. This is a very nice example of the MK II Meteor in .22 Calibre. It has a medium coloured wooden stock, showing signs of age related to the underside of the stock and the butt end. The metal work retains 90% of its original blueing, showing signs of use related wear to the barrel and cylinder. It has a block and blade fore sight. The top of the adjustable rear sight is stamped with the BSA piled arms logo and the top of the cylinder forward of its two raised scope mounts is crisply marked 'BSA Meteor' with stylised arrow logo. It comes with its original B.S.A. telescopic sight which is in good condition. The rifle's serial number ‘TA22958' is stamped on the underside of the barrel block. The 'TA' prefix serial number dates the rifle to between 1962 and 1966 (see page 39 of Collector's Guide to Air Rifles by Hiller). The top of the barrel is stamped ‘BSA Guns Ltd England’ together with ‘.22 Cal’ and BSA piled arms logo. The barrel's bore is clean with crisp rifling and it cocks and fires as it should with a strong spring action at 7.05 ft/lbs. The price includes UK delivery. BSA Mercury MkII (1974-1978).22 Air Rifle and Webley 4x15 Scope. AI 784 - AI 784 The BSA Mercury is a break barrel, spring powered, Air Rifle first produced in 1972 by the Birmingham Small Arms Company and then Gamo (UK) Limited. It was manufactured in .177 (4.5 mm) .22 (5.5 mm) and .25 (6.35 mm), the latter named the "635 Magnum". The Mercury was marketed between the BSA Meteor and Air Sporter models and was a light, easy to use rifle, giving a 11 ft/lbs of energy. Rifle Length: 104 cm. Barrel Length: 47 cm. Weight: 3 kg. BSA MERCURY is printed on the top of the cylinder. BSA Guns England Cal .22 is printed on the barrel, and the serial No – ZB 13028 (which dates the rifle between 1974 & 1978) is printed beneath the barrel. The blueing on the barrel and cylinder is in good condition and has some minor use related marks. The rifle has a shrouded blade fore sight and adjustable rear sight. The rifle comes with an original and Webley 4x15 Scope and rail mount *wear to the screws*. The rifle cocks, loads and fires with a nice tight action (9.47 ft/lbs). 1962-1966 B.S.A. Meteor MKII .22 Air Rifle with TA Prefix. AI 783. - AI 783 Birmingham Small Arms introduced the Meteor Air rifle in both .177 & .22 calibre in 1959. MK 1 rifles were produced until 1962 when the MK II model was introduced. MK II production continued until 1968. The small frame rifle is 41 ½” overall with an 18" barrel. This is a very nice example of the MK II Meteor in .22 Calibre. It has a light coloured wooden stock, showing minor signs of age related us with agrooved butt end *small chip*. The metal work retains 90% of its original blueing, showing signs of wear especially on the barrel. It has a block and blade fore sight. The top of the adjustable rear sight is stamped with the BSA piled arms logo and the top of the cylinder forward of its 2 raised scope mounts is crisply marked 'BSA Meteor' with stylised arrow logo. The rifle's serial number ‘TA 12819' is stamped on the underside of the barrel block. The 'TA' prefix serial number dates the rifle to between 1962 and 1966 (see page 39 of Collector's Guide to Air Rifles By Hiller). The top of the barrel is stamped ‘BSA Guns Ltd England’ together with ‘.22 Cal’ and BSA piled arms logo. The barrel's bore is clean with crisp rifling and it cocks and fires as it should with a strong spring action at 9.08 ft/lbs. The price includes UK delivery. AI 780 - AI 780 The BSA Mercury is a break barrel, spring powered, Air Rifle first produced in 1972 by the Birmingham Small Arms Company and then Gamo (UK) Limited. It was manufactured in .177 (4.5 mm) .22 (5.5 mm) and .25 (6.35 mm), the latter named the "635 Magnum". The Mercury was marketed between the BSA Meteor and Air Sporter models and was a light, easy to use rifle, giving a "just under legal limit UK power" of 11.5 ft/lb (15.6 J) of energy. 1979-1994 B.S.A Meteor MK V .177 Calibre Break Action Air Rifle 'NH' Prefix Serial Number. AI 778. - AI 778 Birmingham Small Arms introduced the Meteor Air rifle in both .177 & .22 calibre in 1977. MK V rifles were produced until 1994. The small frame rifle is 41 ½” overall with an 18 ½ " barrel. This is a very good example of the MK V Meteor in .177 Calibre. It has a light coloured wood stock with grooved butt end. The metal work appears to have been re-blued and has some use related scratches. The top of the adjustable rear rail is stamped with 'BSA Meteor'. The rifle's serial number 'NH4049' is stamped on the underside of the barrel block. The 'NH' prefix serial number dates the rifle to between 1979 and 1994 (see page 44 of Collector's Guide to Air Rifles By Hiller). The top of the barrel is stamped ‘BSA Guns Ltd England’ together with ‘.177 Cal’ and BSA piled arms logo. *RARE*1956-1958 B.S.A. First Model Airsporter MKI .22 Calibre, Under Lever, Air Rifle With ‘GB’ Prefix Serial Number. AI 731 - AI 731 A very good condition B.S.A, MKI First Model Airsporter, .22 Calibre Air Rifle. It is serial number GB6071 which dates it to between 1956-1958 (see Page 48 of Hillers Book 'A Collectors Guide to Air Rifles'). The woodwork and metal work are all original & in excellent undamaged condition with only minor marks to the forestock and very light age related wear to the barrel and trigger guard, which appears to have been repainted. First Model MKI's were not grooved for telescopic sight and on this example the grooves are correctly absent. The cylinder mark ‘The Birmingham Small Arms Co Ltd Airsporter .22 Air Rifle Made In England’ together with BSA’s piled arms trademark isn’t visible. The forestock has finger grooves and the butt is ribbed. It is fitted with adjustable flip up rear sight & shrouded foresight . The rifle is 44” overall length. It is under lever cocking and its loading and firing action works perfectly. The price for this rare First Model Airsporter includes UK delivery. A ‘DIANA MODEL 16’ .177 Air Rifle. AI 727 - AI 727 This Diana Model 16 is marked ‘Made in Great Britain’ with the Diana trademark on the cylinder (which later changed to British Made), these were made by Millard Bros Ltd in Motherwell, Lanarkshire between the late 1940's and 1974, it's marking indicates it was from the earlier period of manufacture, it has retained most of its original blued finish, with some minor rust speckling on the barrel which has the correct V blade sights. The stock has retained most of its varnished finish and is relatively mark free; it bears no visible serial number. The rifle cocks, loads and fires with a nice tight action. The stocks grip has the odd age related mark. Weighing 1.2kg and 82 ½ cm in length (firing at 0.75 ft/lbs) it was clearly aimed at the ‘Childs first gun’ market. The price includes UK delivery. 1970’s Spanish, El Gamo Military Pattern A.S.I. Paratrooper Single Shot .22 Calibre Break Action Air Rifle. AI 721 - AI 721 During the 1970`s the Spanish Air Weapon manufacturer El Gamo produced their Paratooper Air Rifles. They were available in both single shot and repeater form. This is a good single shot example. It has a Military type plastic figured shoulder stock with recoil pad and pistol grip. It measures 38” overall with an 18” rifled barrel. It is fitted with original adjustable rear sight stamped with Deer’s head trademark & shrouded blade fore sight. The top of the air cylinder is marked by the manufacturer ` El Gamo` with the manufacturer`s logo and `Made in Spain`. The barrel block is stamped .22 Calibre detail and serial number ‘9953. It`s loading & firing action work crisply. The right side of the frame has remnants of its its original label ‘ A.S.I. Paratrooper Accurate Fire-Power’. The price includes UK delivery.
