C1800 English, Barnett Minories London Brass Barrelled Flintlock Coaching Blunderbuss. A 700 - A 700 The London based Barnett family of Gunsmiths are recorded at various addresses in London from 1796 to 1908 starting with Thomas Barnett at 134 Minories (see page 140 of Brown’s book British Gunmakers Vol.1). This an excellent original brass barrelled flintlock blunderbuss by R. Barnett Minories London. These types of Blunderbuss were favoured by Coachmen for protection against attack from Highwaymen. It is 31 ½” overall with a bell mouth 15 ¾” long brass cannon barrel. The barrel has crisp black powder proofs and is signed ‘Minories London’. The muzzle opening is 1 ¼” wide. The smooth bore has staining & residue consistent with age & use. It has a plain lock plate signed ‘R. Barnett’, Swan neck cock fitted with flint, Walnut full stock and brass mounts including butt plate with extended tang, side plate, trigger guard with extended tang & ram rod flutes. It has its wood ram rod with brass end cap. The price for this antique blunderbuss includes UK delivery. Early 1900’s BSA Martini Action .300 Obsolete Calibre Take Down Rook Rifle With 3 Leaf Graduated Rear Sight Folding Ring Fore Sight & Additional BSA 1909 Patent Folding Aperture Sight. Sn 23637 - 23637 This is an excellent and sought after C1900 .300 Antique Obsolete Calibre Birmingham Small Arms, Martini Action Rook Rifle. It has a 25" round barrel which has a clean bore with well-defined rifling and it measures 40 ½” overall. Its Martini Action works crisply. The metal work retains its original blue finish. It has all original undamaged stock with chequered panels at the wrist & and fore stock. The stock has forward & mid-section sling swivel lugs and rear sling swivel. The action can be removed for cleaning / inspection by turning off a screw bolt on one side of the action. The rifle has a shrouded, folding ring foresight, 3 leaf rear sight graduated to 50-100-150 yards with silvered aiming lines and additional folding aperture rear sight marked ‘BSA P.Pat 21332-09’. The top of the barrel is signed with the manufacturer's name 'Made By The Birmingham Small Arms Co Ltd England Cartridge .300’ together with proof marks & number ‘11229’. C1870’s Auguste Francotte (AF) Liege Belgium 6 Shot .32 Rim Fire Obsolete Calibre Double Action Revolver & Period Leather Holster. Sn 23655 - 23655 Auguste Francotte & Co was a Liege gunmaker. His company was founded in 1810 and was most active between 1860 and 1914. It had premises at Rue Mont Saint Martin 61, in Liege. This is a Belgian Liege 6 shot double action rim fire revolver by Francotte made C1870’s. It has a 4 ¾” octagonal sighted barrel. The barrel’s bore has staining consistent with age & use & well defined rifling. The frame and cylinder have Francotte’s “AF” with Crown marks and has other Liege inspection marks (illustrated). It is side gate loading & has a captive ejector rod. The metal work in the white is undamaged. The Walnut grips are undamaged. The weapon’s cocking and firing action works correctly in both single and double action. The pistol comes with its period brown leather holster which has a full flap cover secured by a brass lug, tooled decoration to the front edges and rear, riveted belt loop. The rear of the leather has numbers ‘745’ above ‘25’. The price includes UK delivery. SOLD SOLD (LAY-AWAY 20/08 CJ) C1750 Continental Form 20 Bore Double Barrel Flintlock Sporting Shotgun With Bearded Mask Carved Stock & Ram Rod. Sn 23639 - 23639 This is a mid 18th Century Continental Form 22 Bore Flintlock Double Barrel Sporting Shotgun. It has all original wood, half length stock with steel reinforced fore end, a portrait of a bearded mask carved to the underside of the stock. The gun has a horn capped wood ramrod. The gun has 35 ½” barrels with chiselled decoration to the breeches, the locks are fitted with roller frizzens. The barrel’s smooth bores have residue & staining consistent with age & use. **SCARCE** C1880’s J. Squires London Webley .30 Rim Fire Six-Shot Webley Pocket Revolver, Side Gate Loading With Captive Extractor Lever. Sn 23653 - 23653 James Squires was an English, London based Gunsmith with premises at Mile End Old Town, 612 Castle Street and 14 Newcastle Street between 1847-1892. Not to be confused with the similar, but more common, Tranter examples Squires utilised Webley-patented frame designs / components. He also made other revolvers, producing and retailing sporting guns, percussion pistols, and cartridge firearms. The pistol has a 2 ¾” sighted octagonal barrel (7” overall). The barrel’s bore has just light staining consistent with age and use and well defined rifling. The top of the cylinder frame is engraved ‘J. SQUIRES LONDON’. It has English proofs on the barrel and removable cylinder. The pistol has a side loading gate and ejector lever mounted on the right side. It has a sheathed trigger, and undamaged chequered walnut grip. The pistol’s metal work is excellent and undamaged with original blue finish and its correct single action cocking and firing mechanism works crisply. **SOLD**1/9**Victorian, British, 1859 Dated, TOWER Pattern 1856, .577 Calibre 2 Band Sergeants 3 Groove Short Percussion Rifle. **. Sn 23657 - 23657 This is an original British, 1859 dated, .577 TOWER Enfield pattern 1856, 2 band Sergeants 3 groove short rifle. The rifle is fitted with a double line TOWER lock plate which is stamped with the queens crown 1859 (date) TOWER and an inspection stamp. The barrel has a nice smooth browned finished barrel and is fitted with the correct 1100 yard backsight, a foresight on a block and a bayonet bar with a forward extension. The sergeants rifle always had iron furniture and this is fitted with the correct iron fittings, trigger guard, butt plate, nose cap, barrel bands and sling swivel fitted to the rear of the trigger guard. This rifle has a 33” round steel 3 grove barrel with a length of 49 inches. The bore has 3 groove rifling with just the staining from service use. rifle has all original woodwork which is in excellent condition.
