British WD MK 1, 'I.C.1.' (1st Issue Pattern Cavalry MK 1) .577x .450, Enfield 1897 Cavalry Carbine Period Re-Barrelled At Enfield With Henry Rifling. A 595 - A 595 This is an original MK 1, 1st issue pattern .577x .450, Martini Henry, Cavalry Carbine. It is ordnance stamped and has all original woodwork. It has adjustable graduated ladder rear (sight frame present, central ladder missing) and winged blade fore sight. The stock either side of the rear sight has lugs for additional leather sight cover (absent). It has its original steel butt plate & steel cleaning rod which has been polished at some point in its life. The stock has knocks bumps and bruises to be expected with age and service use. In the period this carbine was re-barrelled at Enfield with henry Rifling. The 21” barrel's rifled bore is near mint clean and bright with crisp rifling (38 ½” overall). The action works correctly. It is stamped on the right side with Crown VR (Victoria Regina), dated '1897' (indicating re-barrelling at Enfield with Henry Rifling) and has the very faint designation stamp 'I.C.1.' (1st Issue Pattern Cavalry MK 1). The metal has WD inspection marks. The Price includes UK delivery.
