**MAN STOPPER**Early 1800’s English R. Horton London 22 Bore Flintlock Traveling Pistol With Folding Trigger & Turn Off Barrel. Sn 16380 - 16380 This an excellent large calibre flintlock pocket pistol made or retailed by R. Horton London. It is 8” overall length and has a 2 ½” screw off barrel (the underside of the barrel has a lug for tool to turn off the barrel. We do not have the tool). This man stopper pistol is 15mm at the muzzle (approx. 22 bore). The barrel’s smooth bore has just staining consistent with age and use. The underside of the frame has crisp proof marks. It's action is decorated on both sides, one side with Martial banners & arms and is signed ‘R.Horton’ within panel. The other side has Martial banners & arms and is signed ‘London’ within panel. The action has a sliding safety bolt to the rear of the Swan neck hammer which is fitted with flint. It has its undamaged original bag shaped wood grip. The grip is inlaid with a void silver escutcheon. It has a folding trigger & the weapon cocks and dry fires as it should. The price for this pistol worthy of further research includes UK delivery. C1860's British Army In India Officer’s Private Purchase Manton & Co Calcutta & London Enfield Pattern 3 Band .600 Calibre Muzzle Loading Percussion Musket. Sn 16416:20 - 16416:20 The Manton family were English gunmakers beginning with John in the early 1800's, then his younger brother Joseph who operated circa 1825-35. J. Manton and Son operated circa 1832-1862 and J. Manton & Co is later listed as operating in London and Calcutta. This is a British Army In India Officer’s Private Purchase Manton & Co Calcutta & London Enfield Pattern 3 Band .600 Calibre Muzzle Loading Percussion Musket. The action plate is stamped With stylised Queen’s Crown. It has all original wood stock which has bumps and bruises consistent with age and use and a contemporary repair to the wood near to the top of the action plate. The repair is stable & secure. The wood is stamped with small numbers (illustrated). It has a steel butt plate, fore end block & trigger guard with extended tang numbered ‘35162’. The rifle also has its steel ramrod, block and blade fore sight, sling swivels and bayonet lug. The barrel’s smooth bore has staining and residue consistent with age and use. Total length is 49” with a 32 ¾” barrel. The barrel has proofs and is signed ‘Manton & Co Calcutta & London’. The cocking and firing action work crisply. **QUALITY**C1840 English Beckwith London 15 Bore Double Damascus Barrelled Muzzle Loading Percussion Shotgun Converted From Earlier Flintlock Piece. Sn 19995 - 19995 This is a quality made 15 Bore double barrel muzzle loading percussion shotgun converted from an earlier flintlock piece. It has all original Walnut furniture with finely chequered wrist. The shotgun with double 32”, Damascus steel barrels, has double hammers & triggers. It measures 48 ½” overall. The barrel rib has a bead fore sight. The action plates, action tang and trigger guard with extended tang and Pineapple finial have foliate engraved decoration. The action plates are also engraved with the depiction of a ‘Hare in the field’ and are inset with yellow metal lozenges ‘Beckwith’ (most likely the English gunmaker William. A. Beckwith who operated in London from 1800 until approx. 1840 from which time business was conducted at 58 Skinner Street, Snow Hill. His son Henry was also involved in the family business until 1868. Henry Beckwith is listed as participating in the International Exhibition of 1851). The action has an inlaid silver bands at the breech of each barrel. The barrel rib also has ‘Beckwith London’ in gold lettering. The cocking & firing actions of the weapon work crisply. The barrel’s smooth bores are clean. The gun has an ebonised wood ram rod with brass end cap and brass tip which unscrews to reveal a worm. The price includes UK delivery. Victorian British WD Pattern 1842 Enfield Tower .577 Regulation Calibre Percussion Cavalry Trooper’s Pistol. Sn 19688 - 19688 Designed by the British Army’s Inspector of Small Arms George Lovell, this heavy but elegantly simple percussion lock, smooth bore pistol was issued to troopers of British cavalry regiments c.1842-1860. It’s simple, robust design made it excellent for service in the field. This is a very good, original British WD Enfield Tower 1842 pattern percussion Cavalry Trooper’s pistol. It has all original wood work with brass fittings, including trigger guard with extended tang, butt plate with hinged steel lanyard ring, brass ram rod flute and fore stock plate. It has a heavy military hammer & captive steel ram rod. It measures 12” overall with an 5 ¾” round steel barrel. The smooth bore has staining & residue consistent with age & use. The barrel has proofs. The action works crisply. The action plate is signed with the Enfield ‘Tower’ mark, Crown VR (Victoria Regina), 1842 (pattern) and WD arrow inspection mark. **QUALITY MAKER**English C1800 Henry Nock London 54 Bore Flintlock Pocket Pistol With Safety Bolt & Screw Off Barrel. A 1125 - A 1125 Henry Nock was a British inventor and engineer of the Napoleonic period, best known as a gunsmith. As well as supplying the military and civilian markets, Nock made expensive pieces for the aristocracy and Royalty and was an appointed gunmaker to the King. Nock's business eventually became Wilkinson Sword. This is an excellent flintlock pocket pistol by Henry Nock London. The pistol’s action is beautifully engraved with Martial Arms and Banner designs. It has a steel cock fitted with flint & sliding safety bolt which works correctly. One side of the pistol is signed by the manufacturer 'H. Nock' and the reverse 'London'. The pistol measures 6” overall & has a just over 1 ½” turn off barrel (a tool is required to remove the barrel, we do not have the tool). The barrel’s smooth bore is clean. The underside of the action has black powder proof marks. The pistol has an undamaged bag shaped Walnut grip. The metal work has excellent original blue finish. Liege Belgium ‘MJ’ Michel Jamar ‘The Guardian Model Of 1878’ 7mm Pinfire Obsolete Calibre 5 Shot Revolver With Folding Trigger & Captive Ejector Rod. A 1123 - A 1123 Michel Jamar, arms manufacturer in Liege, boulevard of Avroy, 16 then street Saint Jean, 26. From 1888 to 1892, he deposited 7 patents for inventions and in particular for revolvers. This is a 5 shot 7mm double action pinfire revolver made by Michel Jamar Liege. It has a 3” octagonal barrel. The barrel’s rifled bore is clean. The metal work has proof / inspection marks and the side gate has the maker’s initials ‘MJ’. The cylinder is engraved with banner ‘The Guardian Model Of 1878’. The metal work has even patina. And panels of engraved foliate decoration. It has a captive ejector rod, folding trigger and undamaged ebony grips. It has a post fore sight. The pistols firing mechanism works crisply in both single & double action. The price includes UK delivery.
