**MINT RIFLED BORE**RARE**Norwegian Model 1834 / 1846 .650 Carbine Calibre Mounted Jaeger Mountain Cavalry Troops Convertible Percussion Pistol Carbine. Sn 21393:26 - 21393:26
This is an original Norwegian Model 1834 / 1846 Convertible Percussion Pistol Carbine With Swedish Carl Gustaf Mark (Removable Shoulder Stock Absent). These Convertible pistols were adopted by Mounted Jaeger Mountain Cavalry Troops. The pistol has a 9 ¾” round steel sighted barrel which is numbered ‘76’ (the number is repeated on the action tang and action plate). The pistol is 16 ¾” overall length. The bore is near mint, clean and bright with well defined deep cut rifling. It has a heavy military hammer and external safety catch which works as it should. The walnut full stock has typical brass mounts. The wood has knocks, bumps and bruises to be expected with age & service use. The action plate and barrel have Norwegian ‘Crown CB’ marks and the barrel has ‘CGH AP ‘ marks (unknown). The action plate also has number ‘533’. The pistol has a brass cudgel butt. The back of pistol grip has a recessed steel plate for shoulder stock. The price for this rare to find pistol as used by Jaeger Mounted Troops includes UK delivery. An original large French / Continental military officer’s pistol. This pistol has a Walnut Stock with regulation brass fittings. The wood has impressed roundel with ‘X’ mark (unknown). The wood is all original with just bumps and bruises to be expected. There are no visible maker or date marks. The 9 ½” sighted barrel is numbered ‘2336’. The pistol’s smooth bore has staining and residue consistent with age and service use. The pistol retains the original iron ramrod. The pistol cocks and dry fires with a strong action. The action plate has an external safety catch. The pistol’s butt has an iron military lanyard ring. This is a substantial and well made pistol. The price includes UK delivery. An original French Model 1822 Tulle Arsenal Cavalry pistol. Many of these pistols were carried by Confederate troops in the American Civil war supplied by their French allies. This French Dragoon marked pistol has a Walnut Stock with regulation brass fittings. The wood has impressed roundel and number 2144 (illustrated) together with ‘St Etienne’ arsenal and ‘D1’ Regiment mark to the French 1st Regiment Of Dragoons. The brass has several inspection marks. The wood is all original with just bumps and bruises to be expected. The lock plate is stamped with ‘Tulle Arsenal’ detail. The 7 ¾” sighted barrel has matching number ‘2144’. The pistol’s smooth bore has staining and residue consistent with age and service use. The pistol retains the original iron ramrod with hollow powder measure tip. Isaac Barber was an English Nottinghamshire based gun smith recorded at Market Place, Newark 1773-1823 (see page 164 of Brown’s book British Gunmakers Vol.2). This is an excellent Flintlock Pistol by Barber Newark. It is 14 ¼” overall with a 9” octagonal steel sighted barrel. The barrels’ smooth bore has just light staining consistent with age and use and has black powder proofs. The top barrel flat is faintly signed ‘Barber Newark’. It has a flat stepped lock with cock. The lock plate is crisply signed ‘Barber’ (most likely Isaac). It has a walnut full stock with plain rounded butt. It's has fancy steel fittings including trigger guard with extended tang, clamshell on the trigger guard and Pineapple finial. It is complete with original ebonised wood ramrod with polished horn end cap and steel worm. It's action works crisply. The price includes UK delivery.
