**RARE**UNUSUAL**C1850 Italian Piemontese Type Large 17mm Calibre Muzzle Loading Percussion Cavalry Carbine With Regiment Marks ‘St’ Inspection Marks, Brass Furniture, Saddle Ring & Steel Ram Rod. Sn 18168:19 - 18168:19 This is an original C1850 Italian form 17mm Calibre Muzzle Loading Percussion Cavalry Carbine similar to the 17mm Piemontese Service Rifle With Brass Furniture, Saddle Ring & Steel Ram Rod. Large calibre weapons were favoured by the Italian Military. Outside our carbine & Piemontese muskets were similar to British Enfields but ours has an unusual lock (illustrated) and sight configuration consisting of block with blade fore sight located in the middle of the 18” round steel barrel (illustrated) and grooved action rear sight. It has all original undamaged heavy wood full stock with figured cheek piece, brass butt plate, fore end block, barrel band and trigger guard with extended tang. The butt plate and brass stock plate have Regiment marks (unknown illustrated). The trigger guard, stock plate and action plate are marked ‘St’ (illustrated unknown). It has a heavy military percussion hammer. The carbine measures 34” overall length. The barrel’s large 17mm bore has just staining consistent with age and use and deep cut rifling. **MINT BORE**MATCHING NUMBERS**Swiss Military Vetterli M1869 / 71 10.4 mm Obsolete Calibre Bolt Action Rifle By Keller Aarau. Sn 18196:7 - 18196:7 The Vetterli rifles were a series of Swiss army service rifles in use from 1869 to circa 1890, when they were replaced with Schmidt-Rubin rifles. Modified Vetterli rifles were also used by the Italian Army. The Swiss Vetterli rifles combined the American M1866 Winchester rifle's tubular magazine and a bolt system derived from the German Dreyse. Due to the Swiss Federal Council's early 1866 decision to equip the army with a breech loading repeating rifle, the Vetterli rifles were, at the time of their introduction, the most advanced military rifles in Europe. This is an excellent M1869 / 74 Vetterli bolt action rifle in 10.4mm UK obsolete calibre.The metal work has even patina. It has all original, wood furniture with chequed grip panel on the fore stock. The woood has knocks bumps abnd bruises to be expected with age and one side of the shoulder stock has a few blemishes which can be seen in the images. The stock is stamped with military ‘Swiss Cross’ mark. The action is signed by the maker Keller Aarau and stamped 'M78 Waffenfabrik Bern' together with model designation ‘M78’ and serial number ‘91219’ which is repeated on the barrel and underside of the action. The bolt has un-matching number. It has an adjustable rear sight, block & blade foresight, sling swivels, steel butt plate and original cleaning rod. The rifle is 51” overall length with a 33” barrel. The barrel’s bore is near mint, clean & bright with crisp rifling. The loading & firing actions are crisp. The price includes UK delivery. C1865 Liege Proofed Chamelot & Delvigne 7mm Pin Fire Obsolete Calibre 6 Shot Double Action Revolver With Silver Inlay Ornate Decoration, Folding Trigger & Octagonal Barrel. Sn 17901 - 17901 A Liege proofed 6 shot 7mm double action pin fire revolver number 13878 made C1865. It has an octagonal 3” barrel. The barrel is marked “CHAMELOT & DELVIGNE INon Btee”. The cylinder has Liege proofs. The breech and cylinder are inlaid and overlaid with silver tendrils and leaves, the latter also engraved with medallions, the frame and stepped butt cap are profusely engraved with vine leaves, tendrils and scrolls. It has antique Ivory grips. The barrel’s bore is clean with crisp rifling. It has a folding trigger & blade fore sight. The pistol has the typical Chamelot & Delvigne type side loading gate and has a captive sliding ejector rod. The pistol's firing mechanism works as it should in both single and double action. C1865 Liege Proofed Chamelot & Delvigne 9mm Pin Fire Obsolete Calibre 6 Shot Double Action Revolver With Silver Inlay Ornate Decoration, Folding Trigger & Octagonal Barrel. Sn 17905 - 17905 A Liege proofed 6 shot 9mm double action pinfire revolver number 1764 made C1865. It has an octagonal 4 ¼” barrel. The barrel is marked “CHAMELOT & DELVIGNE INon Btee”. The cylinder has Liege proofs. The barrel has simple silver line inlay, the cylinder and frame are engraved with chequered panels inlaid with silver borders and pique studs. It has a knurled capstan bolt securing the barrel & antique Ivory grips. The butt has lanyard ring. The barrel’s bore has just light staining consistent with age & crisp rifling. Laport & Irmaos” (Rio de Janeiro), 7mm Pin Fire Obsolete Calibre 6 Shot Double Action Revolver With Gold Game Dogs & Game Birds In Flight Decoration, Folding Trigger & Antique Ivory Grips. Sn 17908 - 17908 A Belgian 6 shot 7mm Lefaucheux type double action side gate loading, pin fire revolver made C1865. It retains its original blue finish. It has a 3 ¼” octagonal barrel. The top barrel flat is gold inlaid in gothic script “Uba. Laport & Irmaos” (Rio de Janeiro), Liege ‘ELG*’ proved cylinder. The cylinder and frame are inlaid with gold lines, game dogs and flying game birds. It has a captive ejector rod, folding trigger, and plain antique ivory grips. The pistol’s bore is clean with typical light rifling. It has a blade fore sight and the rear sight consists of a grooved hammer. The pistol is double action only. **UNUSUAL LOADING MECHANISM & EJECTOR ROD**C1855-1866 A.PLIERS BREVETE Liege Proofed 6 Shot 12mm Pin Fire Obsolete Calibre Single Action Military Revolver Retailed by BIJON S MONTE-VIDEO. Sn 18077:1 - 18077:1 Adrien Pliers was a Liege gunmaker who received at least 6 different firearms patents between 1855 and 1866. This is a Belgian Liege 6 shot 12mm single action pin fire revolver with unusual loading mechanism & captive ejector rod by Adrien Pliers. The unusual ejector rod is clipped beneath the barrel, which hinges outwards and then slides in the conventional manner. The loading system is also most unusual, consisting of a revolving disc behind the cylinder with a single aperture which when at half cock is aligned with a chamber allows the cartridge to be inserted, (we have not seen this type of mechanism before). The revolver has a 6 ¼”, 2 stage barrel and measures 12” overall. The barrel has a triangular post fore sight and the rear sight consists of a notch in the hammer. Its rifled bore has staining and residue consistent with age and use. The cylinder has Liege proofs. The metal work in the white has panels of engraved foliate decoration on the action frame. The breech is stamped “A.PLIERS BREVETE” & engraved “BIJON S MONTE-VIDEO”, The walnut grips are undamaged. The butt has military lanyard ring. The weapon’s cocking and firing actions work correctly in single action. The price for this unusual revolver worthy of further research includes UK delivery.
