1960's Danish HTK M62 Bayonet, Scabbard & Intergral Frog. BAYO 754 - BAYO 754
A Danish HTK M62 bayonet, scabbard and integral frog with belt loop and wire belt hooks. This was an American style M5A1 bayonet but newly made for the Danish Army and used as a trench knife. It is in it's correct scabbard with British 37 Pattern belt hooks added to the webbing frog. The bayonet has a steel pommel. It has black plastic diamond grips secured with two screw bolts. The grips incorporate a thumb push next to the cross guard which releases the bayonet. This operates smoothly and as it should. The cross guard is straight and has a locating pin attached to it. The blade is Parkerised and measures 6 1/4" long. The body of the scabbard is wood grain effect and the throat is marked with the Danish Crown over HTK (Haerens Tekniske Korps- Army Technical Corps). This is a scarce bayonet. (see pages 57 & 58 of 'An Illustrated History Of Bayonets' by Martin Brayley). The price includes Uk delivery. BAYO 754

U.S M4 Bayonet and Scabbard for the M1 Carbine. 19171 - 19171
The M4 bayonet, like the M3 fighting knife that preceded it, was designed for rapid production using a minimum of strategic metals and machine processes; it used a relatively narrow 6.75-inch bayonet-style spear-point blade with a sharpened 3.5-inch secondary edge.[1] The blade was made of carbon steel, and was either blued or parkerised. Production of the grooved leather handle was later simplified by forming the grip of stacked leather washers that were shaped by turning on a lathe, then polished and lacquered. The steel cross guard had a bayonet muzzle ring and the bayonet fastener is on the pommel. Later models used a black moulded plastic handle. The basic design would be used for the later M5, M6 and M7 bayonets. This example has unmarked plastic chequered grips, with ‘U.S M4’ imprinted on the cross guard. The blade looks to have been sharpened, but is free of any nicks or marks. The scabbard is the correct issue in drab olive, the plastic and webbing are mark free. An excellent addition to anyone’s collection. The price includes U.K. delivery. 19171.

**American M1917 Bayonet By Remington and Scabbard. BAYO 749. - BAYO 749
This is a good condition M1917 bayonet made by Remington. It is nicely stamped on the ricasso with ‘1917 Remington’. The other side is stamped with the 'Flaming Grenade' over "US" and the eagles head inspection mark. The wooden grips which are showing signs of use have two grooves cut into them and there is an oil hole in the pommel. It is carried in its first pattern scabbard with frog stud which carries the U.S. Later scabbards merely have the belt hooks attached to the top mount. The American scabbards also have a small drain hole drilled in the bottom of the chape, unlike British versions which did not have the hole. A nice early and complete pattern 1917 bayonet and early scabbard. The price includes UK delivery. BAYO 749.

*British Pattern ‘1887 MKIII’ Sword Bayonet and Scabbard. BAYO 743. - BAYO 743
This is a very clean ‘1887’ pattern ‘MKIII’ bayonet, and is the version with no fullers to the blade. The blade carries a crown over ‘V.R. /88’ (1888) it was probably made at ‘Enfield, Wilkinson’ as other makers clearly stamped their blades. The other side of the blade carries a broad arrow over ‘W.D.’ and an inspection stamp. There are also two inspection stamps t the spine. The pommel carries the number ‘9830’. The grips are black leather secured by two rivets, and the blade measures 18 ¼ “. The scabbard is brass mounted black leather instead of the usual steel, and it is thought that these scabbards were used by Indian troops. The mouthpiece is stamped ‘C.H.’ Broad arrow over ‘I 00’. See ‘Skennerton’ item B207 pages 162-163 & page 338 in the Indian section regarding these brass mounted scabbards. The price includes U.K. delivery. BAYO 743.

*WWI British ‘P13’ Mk1 Sword, Bayonet and Scabbard. BAYO 742. - BAYO 742
This is a great example of the ‘P13’ bayonet, which although designated ‘P13’, fit the ‘P14’ rifle and was not introduced until ‘1916’. It is marked to the blade with ‘1913’ over ‘5 17’ (May 1917) and ‘Remington’ in a circle. The other side of the blade carries British inspection stamps. The vast majority of these bayonets were made in America by ‘Remington and Winchester’ with only a few made in England by ‘Vickers’. The wooden grips have two grooves on either side to distinguish it from the ‘P1907’. The scabbard is a British ‘No1 MKII’ with a round frog stud, and the frog is a ‘1939’ leather version stamped to the rear with ‘Lees (W) Ltd 1940 F8;’ probably re-issued to the Homeguard in ‘WWII’. A very nice collectable ‘1913’ bayonet. See ‘Skennerton’ item B239, pages 192-194. The price includes U.K. delivery. BAYO 742.

*German ‘G3’ Bayonet and Scabbard. BAYO 738. - BAYO 738
This is a ‘G3’ bayonet to fit the German ‘G3’ rifle. Based on the Spanish ‘CETME’ rifle and introduced in ‘1959’. It has undamaged ribbed plastic grips and a blade similar to the American ‘M3’ knife blade. The bayonet fixed to the rifle in an inverted position above the barrel and was secured by a plug which fitted into the gas port of the rifle. The original German issue scabbards also followed the American pattern of ‘M8 & M8A1’ types. As the popularity of the ‘G3’ rifle grew it was exported to over 60 countries, and our example is one of these export versions being in a black plastic scabbard with a fixed belt frog. This is a nice example that has seen some use. See ‘Martin. J.Brayley- An Illustrated History of Bayonets’ pages 87 – 101

U.S. ‘M1’ Garand Bayonet and Scabbard. BAYO 733. - BAYO 733

The other side carries ‘U.S. over 856482’.This bayonet was converted by ‘A.F.H’ (Allied Fork & Hoe Co) and is stamped to the top of the hilt with ‘A.F.H’. The grips are black plastic held by a single screwbolt. The scabbard is an olive drab camouflaged early example with ‘U.S. M7’ stamped to the topmount and not the later flaming grenade with ‘U.S.’. *U.S. ‘M1 Garand’ Bayonet and Scabbard. BAYO 731. - BAYO 731
This is a nice ‘M1 Garand’ bayonet with an original blade and not a cut down ‘M1905’ or ‘M1942’. The fullers do not run through to the tip as with the cut down bayonets, but stop 2 ¾ “from the tip. It is marked to the blade with ‘R.I.A.’ (Rock Island Arsenal) a feint 1918 date and a flaming grenade with the other side carrying ‘U.S. over a feint 355805?’ The bayonet metal parts appear to have been chromed, possibly for ceremonial use. The unmarked grips are black ribbed plastic held by a single screwbolt. The near mint scabbard is an olive drab, again freshly made and not a cut down version. It is marked to the top mount with a flaming grenade and U.S. the rear of the scabbard carries ‘VP 29’ denoting manufacture by ‘Victory Plastics’ , see ‘An Illustrated History of Bayonets’ by Martin.J.Brayley, pages 231-241.
