*Scarce* Turkish ‘M1935’ Bayonet and Scabbard. BAYO 594. - BAYO 564
This is a very scarce ‘M1935’ bayonet which was newly made when Turkey decided to standardise their weapons to ‘1903’ style rifles and 250mm length bayonet blades. The pommel carries ‘AS.FA’ which stands for ‘Askari Fabrika’ and translates as ‘Military Factory’ and has a serial number of ‘56589’. The blade is fullered but devoid of any markings. The scabbard is steel with an oval frog stud, and again devoid of markings. The blade has light staining conducive with its age. The wooden grips are in good order as the scabbard which has a nice patina and only very insignificant indentation. See ‘An Illustrated History of Bayonets’ by Martin J. Brayley pages 219-221. *Matching Numbers* Brazilian ‘1908’ Pattern Bayonet and Scabbard. BAYO 593. - BAYO 593
This is a nice Brazilian ‘1908’ pattern bayonet and scabbard with matching numbers. These bayonets were for use with the new 7mm Mauser rifle adopted in 1908 and were made in Germany. This example carries the trademark of W.K. & CIE. Solingen (Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co) (The history of the company Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie (W.K.C.) in Solingen began in the early middle-ages, when the trademark “Kingshead“ was registered by the blade smith Johannes Wundes in 1560. This trademark is one of the oldest registered and is still in use today) on the ricasso. The crossguard carries the number ‘6614’ as does the frog stud on the brass mounted leather scabbard. The blade has light staining consistent with its age. The wooden grips are in very nice condition. The leather, stitching and metalwork on the scabbard are all in good order. Belgian ‘F.N. Model 1949 Bayonet and Scabbard. BAYO 565. - BAYO 565
This is probably an export version as Belgian used bayonets carry a ‘SA30’ over crown & J.F.’ and this bayonet is totally unmarked. Other users were Egypt and South American countries, so this is probably for South America as Egyptian bayonets have Arabic script to the pommel. The blade is in near mint condition, as are the wooden grips. The scabbard is blued steel and the frog stud carries the number ‘39808’. A scarce WW1 Austro-Hungarian M1895 Mannlicher carbine knife bayonet, with calibrated foresight on the muzzle ring. The M1895 Knife bayonet was made for use on the 8 mm. M1895 Mannlicher rifle, which was produced in great quantities prior to and during the First World War. The M1895 bayonet was the first knife bayonet to feature an inverted blade profile, where cutting edge faces upward when fixed. The Mannlicher M1895 (German: Infanterie Repetier-Gewehr M.95, Hungarian: Gyalogsági Ismétl!7; Puska M95; "Infantry Repeating-Rifle M95") is a straight pull bolt-action rifle, designed by Ferdinand Ritter von Mannlicher that used a refined version of his revolutionary straight-pull action bolt, much like the Mannlicher M1890 carbine. This examples blade measures 24 ¾ cm (36 cm overall) it has an Eagle and makers mark to the ricasso. The wooden grips are held with two pins and are in good condition with age related use marks. The scabbard is in very good condition with makers mark, inspection stamps and ‘23’ on the frog mount. An nice pairing for the collector/enthusiast. The price includes UK delivery. BAYO 564. *Unique* Chilean M1910 Police Sidearm Converted From French Gras 1874 Bayonet and Steel Scabbard. ED 1047. - ED 1047
Chilean M1910 Police Sidearm Converted From French Gras 1874 Bayonet and Steel Scabbard. ED 1047. This is a nice unusual conversion. It is a Chilean Police sidearm and scabbard issued to the Chilean Police in 1910. These were made up using a section of the blade and the crossguard of a French Gras 1874 bayonet. This was then mated to a solid brass hilt bearing the Chilean Coat of Arms. The blade of the bayonet has been shortened dramatically to 11.25 inches and the bayonet measures 16 inches overall. There is no mortise slot or fixing button and therefore it was only intended as a dress item. The cross guard with muzzle ring and quillon is present. The hilt has number "C2116" stamped on its side. The bayonet is complete with its steel scabbard with brass mounts which is in nice condition. These are an uncommon item, (see Martin J. Brayley 'An Illustrated History of Bayonets' book, pages 46 & 48). The price includes UK delivery. ED 1047.

1902 Dated Japanese Made Siamese Mauser Bayonet & Scabbard. BAYO 246. - BAYO 246
This is a Mauser rifle bayonet imported by Siam (now Thailand). It has an overall length of 14 ½”and a blade length of 9 ¾”. The blade carries Thai script which translates to ‘RS121’. This indicates production in the 121st year of the Chakri Dynasty or 1902 in the Gregorian calendar. These bayonets were made in Japan for Siam (see pages 214 & 215 of the book ‘An Illustrated History Of Bayonets by Brayley’. The grips are wood held by 2 rivets. *SCARCE* Inter War, 1919 Dated, Australian, Lithgow, 1907 Pattern Bayonet Marked ‘3MD’ To The 3rd Military District (Victoria), Early MK 1 Leather Scabbard & Early 1908 Pattern Webbing Frog. BAYO 447. - BAYO 447
A scarce to find, Australian, Inter World War dated example of the Pattern 1907 bayonet for the SMLE rifle complete with scabbard & frog. The ricasso of the bayonet is stamped by the manufacturer ‘A’ star together with 'Lithgow 1907 Within Shield' (early Lithgow mark, see Skennerton page 294) and '1919’ date. The reverse is double stamped with 'A' within Star Lithgow inspection marks. The blued blade is undamaged. It's wood grips are secured by the correct screw bolts. The pommel is stamped ' A4155-1'. The cross guard is stamped ‘3MD’ To The 3rd Military District (Victoria) together with number ‘70569’. It is complete with its original steel mounted MK 1 black leather Scabbard. The throat mount is numbered ‘84’. All stitching of the scabbard is intact. Also included is an original 1908 webbing frog which is in excellent condition. The frog is the early pattern 1908 webbing style (see item 116 in Carters’ Bayonet Belt Frogs). Finnish ‘M1927’ Bayonet and Scabbard. BAYO 562. - BAYO 562
This is a nice ‘M1927’ bayonet for the Finnish modified ‘Mosin Nagant’ rifle (The Mosin–Nagant is a five-shot, bolt-action, internal magazine–fed military rifle. Known officially as the 3-line rifle M1891and informally in Russia and former Soviet Union as Mosin's rifle (Russian: k4;l0;l5;m0;l6;k4;l2;k2; i2;l6;l9;l0;l5;k2;, ISO 9: vintovka Mosina), it is primarily found chambered for its original 7.62×54mmR cartridge). The 30 cm blade (41 ¼ overall) is marked with the manufacturers name of ‘Hackman & Co’ (Hackman was a cutlery and cookware company founded in Finland in 1790). The wooden grips are held with two pins and are in good solid condition. The number ‘72810’ runs down the spine of the grips. The steel scabbard is unmarked and retains 90% of its original paint. **VERY EARLY**1908 & 1909 Dated Canadian Ross Rifle Company MK1 Bayonet & WW1 1916 MKII Leather Scabbard With Integral Frog. Sn 20109 - 20109
This is a very early 1st Pattern Ross bayonet with the stepped back muzzle ring which has a smaller muzzle ring diameter and a split annual spring inside the muzzle ring. This acts against the muzzle and ring to provide a rattle free and positive fit. This bayonet fitted the first pattern of Ross rifle but on the introduction of the MK II rifle the bayonet was altered with a larger muzzle ring diameter, no step back on the muzzle ring and the muzzle spring was deleted. This bayonet was made in 1908 & has May 1909 inspection mark. It is date stamped ‘5-09’ on the pommel with the Canadian WD acceptance mark alongside 08 (1908), inspection stamps and Ross maker detail ‘Ross Rifle Co Quebec Patent 1907’. The MK1 was only made from 1909-1910 whereas the MK 2 was produced from 1911-1917. The slab wood grips are secured with two screw bolts. The wood has knocks bumps and bruises consistent with age and service use. The push button release on the pommel works as it should. The grips have small inspection marks. The bayonet measures 14 ½” overall and has a 10” single edged sharp blade. The blade has staining consistent with age. It is contained in its brown leather scabbard with integral frog. The tip of the scabbard is dated ‘1916’ and has ‘MK II’ designation. The scabbard & belt loop have WD inspection marks. A small piece of leather is absent from one side of the tip of the scabbard which can be seen in image 3. The price includes UK delivery. Sn 20109 (Other Countries Box 2)

*Rare/Mint/Matching Numbers* ‘Argentinian M1909’ Sword bayonet, with Wood Grips & Blued Steel Scabbard By Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co, To Fit The M1891 Mauser Rifle. BAYO 800. - BAYO 800
An Argentine M1909 sword bayonet with wood grips and blued steel scabbard manufactured by Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co, to fit the M1891 Mauser rifle. This was the last variant with wood grips. The bayonet has wood grips, secured with two steel rivets. The pommel is white alloy and has an oval with "R.A." (faint) inside denoting 'Republic of Argentina. It has a push button release. It has a hooked quillon and muzzle ring. The blade is polished steel and has a single edge and fullers. The blade measures 15 ¾ “ long. It is in excellent condition. The ricasso is stamped on one side with "Modelo Argentino 1909" above the Argentine crest, below this is has a serial number "L8530". On the reverse it has "Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co Solingen". The inscription and crest were usually filed off before sale as obsolete and specimens with the full crest and inscription are very hard to find. The blued steel scabbard has a matching serial number stamped above the oval frog stud "L8530". This is a rare bayonet with matching numbers in excellent condition and as is to be expected of a German Manufactured bayonet, of top quality.
