Two Books Covering the ‘MP40’ Sub-Machine Gun. BO 421. - BO 421 The first book is a detailed history, from the early beginnings of the MP18. A Set of Five Books Relating to German Uniforms, Badges and Daggers. BO 420 - BO 420 1: 2nd corrected edition from 1969 of Andrew Mollo’s ‘Uniforms of the SS’ Allgemeine-SS 1923-1945 Volume 1. Much has been written about the S.S. since the end of the war, both apologising for, and enlarging upon its unenviable reputation. This is not such a book. It deals only with the appearance of an organisation which in the midst of the twentieth century, enthusiastically re-created a military order reminiscent of the dark ages. The lapel badge or back badge is perhaps the most commonly encountered souvenir of the civilian war effort in the UK between 1939 and 1945, primarily because of its size.
