The Vickers machine gun is a water-cooled .303 British machine gunwas produced by Vickers Limited, originally for the British Army. The gun was operated by a three-man crew but typically required more men to move and operate it: one fired, one fed the ammunition, the others helped to carry the weapon, its ammunition, and spare parts. The Vickers machine gun was in service from before the First World War until the 1960s, with air-cooled versions of it on many Allied World War I fighter aircraft. This is a complete Vickers machine gun with ancillary equipment contained in 2 wooden transit boxes. The gun was made at Lithgow Small Arms Factory in 1944 and is in excellent condition and is complete with a 1940 dated water condensing can, rubber tube and brass barrel fitting, and a number 10 mark 1 steel ammunition tin containing a 252 round 1943 dated webbing belt with 36 inert rounds. The gun is fitted with flip up long range sight and has excellent undamaged wood firing handles, retaining its original finish and is fitted with a webbing barrel cover. The gun has the dovetail optical sight mount is fitted on the left hand side of the action. The gun has a 1940 dated water condensing can, rubber tube and brass barrel fitting. The number 10 mark I steel ammunition tin contains a 1943 dated webbing 1943 containing xxx inert rounds. Deactivated to early UK specification in 1996 the gun cocks and dry fires, its breech covers can be opened and the ammunition feed tray can be removed. The mark II tripod is in excellent original condition retaining its original green paint. The tripod has a graduated dial & designation markings (all illustrated). The cradle / pintle of the mark IV tripod has maker mark MA 1929 (Linlithgow). The tripos and gun are contained in their original wooden transit cases. This is an excellent condition British 9mm Lanchester MK I* SMG. This "British Schmeisser" was named after George Lancaster of Sterling Armament Company; he was the principal British designer and the main issue was to the Royal Navy. They were produced between 1941 and 1943. This Lanchester has the manufacturer's codes ‘M/49’ (Francis & Barnes Ltd Coventry) & ‘S 230’ (Mann’s Engineering Ltd Essex) and ‘43’ (1943 date). The Mark I* was only capable of fully automatic fire. This Lanchester has an excellent undamaged wood stock, brass butt plate with trap and brass magazine housing which is stamped with model designation, manufacturer code and serial number 54519 (all illustrated). It also has the correct 50 round magazine, flip rear sight, winged fore sight, sling swivels fitted with original webbing sling and bayonet bar. This is an excellent original WW2 Nazi German K98 infantry rifle. The rifle has an adjustable rear sight, block & blade fore sight, bayonet bar, cleaning rod & steel butt plate. It’s all original laminated wood stock is excellent & undamaged. It has forward sling bar and the stock is slotted for sling anchor. The rifle is fitted with leather sling with steel buckle. The breech is crisply marked with the Nazi German Wartime manufacturer code 'CE' which is J.P. Sauer u. Sohn, Waffenfabrik, Suhl, Thuringia and is dated ‘43’ (1943). The weapon has several Waffenamt & Heer Eagle with Swastika acceptance marks. The breech also has model designation ‘Mod 98’. The weapon is serial number ‘5284’ and has other un-matching numbers. This is a very good WW1 dated Imperial German Army G98 infantry rifle. It has all original woodwork and metalwork with steel butt plate. The all original stock has just light bumps and bruises to be expected with age and service use. The barrel shank is stamped by the manufacturer ‘Waffenfabrik Mauser A.G. Oberndorf A/N’ & dated '1917'. The rifle is stamped with model detail 'G.E.W 98' (Gewehr 1898) and with Imperial German inspection marks. It has block & blade foresight, adjustable rear sight, bayonet slide, cleaning rod, sling swivels fitted with leather sling & original removable brass & steel muzzle protector cover. The rifle is serial number 1699. The metalwork has some matching numbers. The bolt has un-matching number. An original, 1943 dated, WW2 303 calibre No.4 MK II rifle. The all original woodwork and metal work of this weapon are in excellent condition. It has a winged fore sight, swivel peep rear sight and alloy butt plate with trap. The rifle is fitted with original webbing sling. The breech is marked 'No 4 MK 1' & ROF (F) (Royal Ordnance Factory Fazakerley) & dated 12/43 (December 1943). The grip strap is marked with serial number PA28573’. Deactivated to UK specification in 1998 the weapon cocks and dry fires & its magazine can be removed. The rifle comes with an original ‘Pig Sticker’ Socket Bayonet. The bayonet’s 8” blade is straight and undamaged, the socket has the correct release catch which functions as it should and is marked with No.4 MK II designation. The bayonet’s original steel scabbard has a frog locket and ball end. The correct zinc alloy throat piece of the scabbard has No.4 MK 1 designation. The Colt M1873 Single Action Army/ Peacemaker was a single action revolver designed for the U.S. Government by Colt. The revolvers were adopted as the U.S. Army standard military service revolver until 1892 and were favoured by Early Law Enforcement Officers. The Colt Buntline Special was a long-barrelled variant of the Colt Single Action Army revolver, which Stuart N. Lake described in his best-selling but largely fictionalized 1931 biography, Wyatt Earp: Frontier Marshal. According to Lake, the dime novelist Ned Buntline commissioned the production of five Buntline Specials. Lake described them as extra-long Colt Single Action Army revolvers. The Colt design lives on today in the form of quality live firing pistols true to the original Colt pistols, made in a variety of calibres from Italian manufacturers such as Pedersoli, Uberti, Pietta and Euroarms. This large frame Buntline .22 calibre revolver is side gate loading and has a captive ejector rod. The pistol retains all of its original blue & colour case hardened factory finish. It has undamaged wood grip both sides factory mounted with colourful enamelled metal devices depicting a set of playing card aces, celebrating saloon gambling during the wild west era. It has a 7 ½” barrel with blade foresight and the rear sight is a groove on top of the cylinder frame. The pistol measures 13 ½” overall. The pistol has patent detail on the frame (illustrated). The pistols serial number is AC493 which is stamped on the underside of the frame above ‘Cat. 8463. Deactivated to a UK specification in 2004, the original deactivation certificate was lost at some point in its life & a replacement certificate issued in 2026 without the need for any further deactivation work being required. The pistol’s blued cylinders are cut and the barrel open & over bored, its sprung captive ejector rod moves and the side gate opens. The pistol cocks and dry fires correctly in single action only.
