WW2 Nazi German Maschinengewehr MG 42, 7.92mm Machine Gun By 'bnz (Steyr Daimler Austria) With Bi-Pod By ‘hec’ Steinbach & Vollmann, Heiligenhaus Bez. Duesseldorf. Sn 22534:10 - 22534:10 The MG 42 (Maschinengewehr 42, or Machine Gun 42) is a 7.92mm general purpose machine gun developed in Nazi Germany and entered into service with the Wehrmacht in 1942. This is an excellent original example of the MG 42. It has all original metal work, wood stock and ribbed bakelite pistol grip. It is complete with bi pod and flip up sights. The frame is marked by the manufacturer 'bnz' which is the Nazi German War time code for Steyr-Daimler-Puch AG, Steyr, Austria. The weapon is numbered ‘2004b’ & has Nazi Waffenamt inspection marks on its frame. The bi pod is Waffenamt together with Nazi maker code ‘hec’ which is Steinbach & Vollmann, Heiligenhaus Bez. Duesseldorf. The weapon cocks and dry fires and its breech cover opens as it should. The weapon comes with its later bespoke carpenter made fitted wood transit with hinged lid steel carry handles and clasp fasteners. The case has compartments for accessories and holds the weapon firmly in place with the shouder stock removed. Rare, Variant, German, MG42 (Rheinmetall MG42/58) (Early Production). 7.62x51 Machine Gun and Sling. ** OLD SPEC** 1996 UK DEACTIVATION CERTIFICATED** D 5989 - D 5989 After World War Two, when West Germany was allowed to reconstitute its army and join NATO, it needed small arms. The new Bundeswehr chose the MG42 as it’s standard GPMG, and the Rheinmetall firm undertook the project of recreating the MG42 by reverse-engineered surviving wartime weapons. The work was completed in 1958, and the company began making MG42s in 7.62 NATO for the commercial export market as well as for the Bundeswehr. West German postwar production of the wartime MG42 began in 1958 at Rheinmetall, after engineers reverse-engineered surviving wartime weapons. Rechambered for 7.62x51mm NATO ammunition, the Rheinmetall MG42/58, was officially designated by the German Bundeswehr as the MG1A1. The design evolved through the MG1 and MG2 into the iconic MG3, which was later manufactured by Heckler & Koch and widely adopted globally. The improvements included a feed tray to mount modern belt boxes and prevent belts from falling out when opened, integrated anti aircraft rear sight and a new muzzle booster design. This is an early production, 1959 built MG42/58 made by Rheinmetall in 1959. The left hand side of the receiver is stamped MG 42 7.62 the Rheinmetall monogram 1959 (date), proof marks and the serial number 11313, the gun is in good condition, retaining much of its original finish, the gun is fitted with the Rheinmetall flip up anti aircraft rear sight, bipod and leather carrying sling. This is an old spec UK (1996) deactivation. The weapon cocks, strips, the barrel change lever operates and the gun dry fires. This is an excellent example of an early production MG42/58 in 7.62 NATO deactivated to the old specification in 1996. The price includes the UK Old Spec deactivation certificate and UK delivery. WW2, 1942 Dated Bren Mk 1m .303 Calibre Light Machine Gun By Inglis. Matching Barrel. ** OLD SPEC**1995 UK DEACTIVATION CERTIFICATED**. D 5988 - D 5988 The British Bren Light Machine Gun was introduced in the 1930s and used extensively by British & Allied Forces throughout WW2. Bren Guns were produced predominantly in Britain, Australia & Canada. This is an excellent British WW2, 1942 dated .303 Calibre MK I Bren light machine gun made by Inglis, Canada. The left side of its receiver is stamped BREN Mk 1m INGLIS 1942 (date). The Bren gun is fitted with the folding cocking lever and has the drum elevation rear sight. The Bren gun is complete with its folding bi pod, adjustable rear sight & original box magazine. The gun has excellent wood work and the metal retains much of its original blued finish. The weapon has serial number 374465 stamped on the top of the breach. The gun was deactivated to the old UK specification in June 1995. The guns slide, action, bottom cover plate, magazine cover plate, trigger and the fire selector lever all move. The magazine can be removed. Post 1905-1922 Marlin USA Model 97 (1897) .22 Long Rifle Calibre Lever Action Carbine With Tube Magazine **COCKS & DRY FIRES**UK 2015 DEACTIVATION**Sn 23633:3 - 23633:3 The Marlin Model 97 (originally introduced as the Model 1897) is a vintage .22 calibre lever-action takedown rifle produced by the Marlin Firearms Co. Manufactured roughly between 1897 and 1922 (with the roll stamp changing to "Model 97" around 1905). This is very good Marlin Model 1897 lever action rifle. It has all original un-damaged wood work with Marlin signature butt plate. Its 24” barrel has the manufacturer’s name, USA address and patent detail. The action tang has model detail ‘Model ‘97’ (all illustrated). It has a full length tube magazine. The rifle is serial number 283905 which indicated post 1905 production. It has a folding peep foresight & 2 leaf folding rear sight. Deactivated to UK specification in 2015 the weapon cocks and dry fires (the takedown action has been fixed in place during the deactivation process).
