WW2 Era Nazi German Hitler Youth (HJ) Blue Cloth Visored Field Cap By Otto Wesely Wien With Enamelled HJ Pin Cap Badge With RZM Mark M 1/6 (Karl Hensler Pforzheim) . Sn 15793:25 - 15793:25
This is an original WW2 Era HJ field cap. These caps were based on the Bergmutze (mountain cap) design. Our example is constructed of the dark blue felt material. The cap is undamaged and has just light areas of staining consistent with age and use. The front of the cap is mounted with a small HJ enamelled brass pin badge with rear clasp fastener. The colours of the badges are vivid and clean and the enamel undamaged. The rear of the cast badge has an embossed Nazi RZM mark ‘M1/6’ which is the Nazi wartime manufacturer code for Karl Hensler Pforzheim. The cap has its original leather sweatband and the crown of the cap is lined in grey cotton. The crown is manufacturer ink stamped ‘Otto Wesely Kappenfabrik Wien Mariahilfer Strasse’ above ‘55’ size. This is an original DAK tropical field cap (a tropical cap is illustrated on page 181 of ‘The Collector’s Guide To Cloth Third Reich Military Headgear’ by Wilkins which is described as a possible reproduction. Ours is guaranteed 100% genuine). These caps were based on the Bergmutze (mountain cap) design but with a slightly longer visor and lower crown. Our example is constructed of the correct olive green twill cotton weave this allowed the caps to dry quickly in wet tropical conditions and reduce sweat in hot climates. The cap is undamaged and clean both inside and out. The front of the cap has the correct DAK blue National Army (Heer) Eagle with Swastika on a sand coloured background above the National Tri-colour roundel on blue background cloth badge. The colours of the badges are vivid and clean and have the correct quality stitched edges. The crown of the cap is lined in red cotton and has the correct metal rimmed vent holes. This is a rare, original Nazi German Luftwaffe NCO & OR’s visor cap (similar Luftwaffe cap variations and insignia are illustrated in Chapter 5 of ‘The Collector’s Guide To Cloth Third Reich Military Headgear’ by Wilkins). Made of Fliegerblau (Flier’s Blue) Trikot material it has the correct gold / yellow hue piping and ribbed black Rayon headband. The front of the cap is mounted with the correct white metal Luftwaffe Eagle with Swastika & National Tri-Colour Cockade Cap Badges. The material has no mothing or damage. The cap has a patent leather visor and chin strap. The cap has its original grey leather sweatband and padded cloth liner. The liner and sweatband have minor service wear. This is an original WW2 dated USAAF Officer’s service cap in near mint un-issued condition. It is made from khaki ‘fur felt’ with braided head band. The brown leather peak and chin strap are complete and undamaged and secured by gilt USAAF buttons. To the front it has a gilt metal American Eagle officer’s cap badge. Inside it has a brown leather sweatband, the inside of which has Philadelphia Quartermaster Depot Stores Markings, cap designation, with ‘fur felt’ material detail and size 7 1/8 together with date January 2 1945. The M15 Adrian helmet (French: Casque Adrian) was a combat helmet issued to the French Army during World War 1. It was the first standard helmet of the French Army and was designed when millions of French troops were engaged in trench warfare. The later M 1926 helmet was made of a single piece of pressed steel without joining rim and top combe. This is an excellent original WW1 M15 French Adrian Combat Helmet complete with its original sweatband liner. The helmet has original chin strap bales. This is an excellent original, WW2, painted steel Worcester City and County Fire Brigade 'Tommy' helmet. The helmet is painted olive green and has its original transfer Fire Brigade badge in silver and red. The inner rim of the helmet is stamped with what looks to "FAI" and "1941". It is also stamped with a number "844". It has its original black oil cloth liner and sprung webbing chinstrap all of which are completely intact. This is a WW1 Belgian Fireman's Steel helmet, complete with bronzed badge to the front, leather liner and leather chin strap. It has a steel comb to the top which is secured with four dome headed rivets. The edge has a folded seam. To the front it has a Belgian Fire Service bronzed badge. Inside the helmet is has a black leather liner with brass eyelets, a drawer string and leather chin strap. The chin strap is secured on one side but the metal wire loop is missing from the other side. This is a complete helmet in very good undamaged condition. The outside is free of dents. This is an original WW2 Japanese naval Petty Officer's visor cap and badge. The caps main body is made of navy blue wool that is in excellent condition and free of any marks or damage. There is a ribbed black cloth centre band. The Petty Officer's insignia is on a black badge cloth roundel. It includes a gilt wreath with a chrysanthemum at the peak. There is a gilt metal anchor in the centre. It has a black patent leather chinstrap held in place by a pair of gilt naval anchor buttons. The black leather visor is in good undamaged condition. The interior is fully lined in black cotton that is in excellent condition. It has a diamond shaped white cotton label inside with Japanese writing on it, (see the second photograph).
