WW1 Era British Other Ranks Officer's Manchester Regiment Uniform Cap With Regiment Cap Badge. HE 860 - HE 860 The Manchester Regiment was a line infantry regiment of the British Army in existence from 1881 until 1958. After distinguished service in both the First and the Second World Wars, the Manchester Regiment was amalgamated with the King's Regiment (Liverpool) in 1958, to form the King's Regiment (Manchester and Liverpool), which was, in 2006, amalgamated with the King's Own Royal Border Regiment and the Queen's Lancashire Regiment to form the present Duke of Lancaster's Regiment (King's, Lancashire and Border). This is an original WW1 era British Other Ranks Officer's Manchester Regiment Uniform Cap With Regiment Cap Badge. It has the correct thin tan leather chin strap with buckles secured by 2 King’s Crown embossed King’s Crown heraldic arms brass buttons and vent holes at either side. The front of the cap has its original Manchester Regiment cap badge in excellent condition. The cap has the correct leather sweatband. **SCARCE**C1870 Bodyguard of the Khedive of Egypt (Khedivate Ismail Pasha 1867 – 1879) Iron Helmet With Adjustable Iron & Brass Arrow Form Nose / Face Guard & Chain Mail Protective Neck Guard Skirt. Sn 22825 - 22825 A nice original scarce helmet of the Bodyguard of the Khedive of Egypt circa 1870 (Khedivate Ismail Pasha 1867 – 1879). Its iron skull is clean with just one shallow dent to the rear aspect consistent with service use. It has brass mounts including flights of the arrow-shaped adjustable nasal bar, retaining bracket, applied embossed border and turned over edge of the neck-guard. The left and right sides of the helmet are absent their original boss mounts. The iron Islamic crescent finial fixes to the prominent brass boss surmounting the skull. Scottish Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Regiment Other Ranks Ostrich Feather Bonnet With Plume / Hackle & Regiment Badge & Plaid Brooch. HE 859 - HE 859 The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders (Princess Louise's) was an Infantry Regiment of the British Army until amalgamation into The Royal Regiment of Scotland in 2006. During the Crimean War The Highlanders earned the sobriquet of “The Fighting Highlanders” and carried with it the status of having been the original “Thin Red Line”. This title was bestowed following the action of the 93rd at Balaclava on 25 October 1854 in which the Highlanders alone stood between the undefended British Army base at Balaclava and 4 Squadrons of charging Russian Cavalry. This is an original Other Ranks Feather Bonnet to the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. It is clean with black ostrich feathers, which give it the distinctive voluminous appearance and creates a protective, ventilated cap over a wire frame. The left side is fitted with its original other ranks white feather plume / hackle and black silk patch mounted with Regimental white metal badge. It has the correct broad diced headband of red & white chequered wool & black cloth ribbons, or "tails". The bonnet is complete with leather sweatband with hand written name which looks like ‘Dermot Fallon’ written over a faded unreadable maker / retailer label, silk liner with draw string and leather chin strap all clean condition with light service wear. The bonnet is approx UK size 6. Included is a white metal plaid brooch found with the Bonnet. The brooch features cast Thistle motifs and has a hinged pin to the rear. The price includes UK delivery. WW1 Seaforth Highlanders Glengarry With Original Solid Silver 3 Piece Regiment Badge. HE 858 - HE 858 The Seaforth Highlanders (Ross–shire Buffs, The Duke of Albany's) was a historic Regiment of the British Army formed in 1881. The Regiment was associated with large areas of the northern Highlands of Scotland. After several mergers, the Seaforth Highlanders are now incorporated in the Highlanders (Seaforth, Gordons and Camerons) Battalion of the Royal Regiment of Scotland. During WW1 the Regiment fought in multiple theatres with battalions serving on the Western Front including the Somme and Passchendaele, Mesopotamia and Egypt. This is an original WW1 era Glengarry with original solid silver (all parts tested positive silver) 3 Piece Seaforth Highlanders Regiment Badge in excellent condition. The badge is mounted on a field of black silk and has the correct mounting lugs secured by split pins to the rear. The Glengarry has dark blue serge body which has small areas of service wear, headband, red and white chequered wool band & red pom-pom at the crown. WW2 British ARP (Air Raid Precautions) Bomb Warden’s Tommy Combat Helmet Stencilled Paint ‘7 BW’ Designation Marked With Liner & Chin Strap. HE 857 - HE 857 This is an excellent, original, WW2, steel 'Tommy' Combat helmet. This helmet has its original black paint finish with ARP Bomb Warden’s large white paint stencilled ‘7 BW’ designation to the front (most likely Bomb Warden Number 7). The paint has areas of wear to be expected and has no dents. The inner rim of the helmet is stamped ‘E-16’ possibly a batch number. There are no visible date or maker marks but they may be present under the paint. WW1 French Service de Santé des Armées (SSA) Army Medial Corps Surgeon Officer’s Veteran’s M15 Adrian Combat Helmet With 'RF' (République Française) SSA Helmet Badge, Liner & Chin Strap Presented To A Veteran Of The Great War. Sn 22869 - 22869 The M15 Adrian helmet (French: Casque Adrian) was a combat helmet issued to the French Army during World War 1. It was the first standard helmet of the French Army and was designed when millions of French troops were engaged in trench warfare The later M 1926 helmet was made of a single piece of pressed steel without joining rim and top combe. The Service de Santé des Armées (SSA) was the French medical corps during World War I, responsible for providing medical care for soldiers, including selection, health assessments, and care during operations and recovery. It operated through various levels of care, from the immediate medical posts in combat units to surgical treatment in field hospitals and further treatment in army teaching hospitals. The SSA’s mission was supported by various personnel, including physicians and surgeons, and it contributed to the national public health system even after military service. This is an original WW1 M15 French Adrian Combat Helmet complete with sweatband liner and chinstrap with buckle most likely presented to a WW1 French Army Surgeon Officer Veteran in memory of the Great War. The helmet is fitted with an original Infantry RF SSA helmet plate featuring the Rod of Asclepius, with a single snake on a staff representing medicine and healing & has an ornate brass plate riveted to the brim engraved ‘Soldat De La Grande Guerre (Soldier Of The Great War) 1914-1918’. **ORIGINAL**WW2 Nazi German Fire Protection Police Double Decal Combat Helmet With Original Liner & Correct Original ‘Y’ Harness Chinstrap System. Sn 22838 - 22838 This is an original WW2 era Nazi German Fire Protection Police double decal combat helmet in excellent condition. The Police combat helmets were issued with double decals, the Police Eagle and Party Colour shield with Swastika right up to the end of the war, however, after 1943 many of the helmets issued to Police came with no decals (see page 256 of The History Of The German Steel helmet 1916-1945 by Baer). The helmet retains its original field dark grey / black paint finish has just light surface scuffs & no dents consistent with age and service use. All rivets/ pins and steel chin strap bales are correctly in place. The inner skirt of the helmet has an indistinct cartouche mark (illustrated). The left side of the helmet features its original silver Police Nazi Eagle with Swastika & wreath on shield background decal. The right has the Nazi Swastika roundel on a red NSDAP party shield. Both decals have strong colouring and have wear consistent with age and service use. The helmet is complete with original undamaged leather liner which has even field / combat wear. The liner has faint ink handwritten number name ‘8’ and red ink stamped size ‘58’. The helmet has its original Correct ‘Y’ Harness Chinstrap System found on Fire Protection Police helmets (see page 258 of Baer’s book where these chinstraps are illustrated). WW1 Era French Model 1882 Cuirassier Cavalry Regiment Helmet By G. Helbronner With Ostrich Feather Plume & Horse Hair Mane. Sn 9970 - 9970 An excellent original WW1 Era French Model 1882 Cuirassier Cavalry Regiment Helmet. The helmet has a white metal skull, brass peak binding, ear to ear wreath with grenade to the centre. The white metal of the skull has some tarnishing to small areas consistent with age. It has leather backed brass scales chin strap and large bosses. The rear of the helmet is marked by the manufacturer 'G. Helbronner' together with number '59' and small ' Star with letter C'. It has a superb Medusa head finial and removable red Ostrich feather plume to the left side. It also has a plaited black horse hair falling mane. Sn 17563 - 17563 An original Model 1876, France, Third Republic, Cuirassier Cavalry Regiment Helmet produced by Alexis Godillot (1816-1893). The helmet has a black painted metal skull, a brass peak binding, ear to ear wreath with ignited grenade to the centre. The skull has no dents. It has a leather backed scales chin strap with buckle and ornate bosses. It has a superb Medusa head finial with 'shaving brush' plume in its original brass holder and removable red ostrich feather plume to the left side. The helmet has a plaited red horsehair falling mane. The inner rear of the helmet is stamped by the maker 'Alexi Godillot' and with faint numbers which appear to be '15 6 74 9'.
