India General Service Medal (1854) with a Burma ‘1885-7’ Clasp. BA 389. - BA 389 This is a nice India General Service Medal with a Burma clasp ‘1885-7’ to ‘Pte.J.Foley’? Somerset Light Infantry. The obverse carries the wyon profile of ‘Queen Victoria’ with the reverse showing ‘Victory’ crowning a semi-nude warrior. The medal was first instituted in ‘1854’ to cover minor campaigns in India, and carried on for 41 years. With a total of 24 clasps issued. n 1852 Lord Dalhousie had suggested a general service medal for smaller Indian campaigns, in order to limit the number of individual medals awarded. Indian Army units made up the majority of forces present for nearly all campaigns. While the expeditions covered by the medal included few formal battles, most were undertaken in difficult terrain against determined resistance from local tribesmen. This example carries the ‘Burma 1885-7’ clasp. The medal and correct ribbon are in good condition is engraved to the rim with ‘884 Pte.J.Foley? 2nd Bn Som.L.I’ . BA 387. - BA 387 This is a nice ‘India General Service’ medal with a clasp ‘Hazara 1891’ to ‘Pte.F.Leyden’ of the 2nd Battalion Seaforth Highlanders. The obverse carries the ‘Wyon’ profile of ‘Queen Victoria’ with the reverse showing victory crowning a semi-nude warrior. The medal was first instituted in ‘1854’ to cover minor campaigns in India and carried on for 41 years, with a total of 24 clasps issued. This fine example carries the ‘Hazara 1891’ clasp. Victorian Kings Crown ‘Loyal North Lancashire’ Helmet Plate. BA 375. - BA 375 A Victorian Kings Crown Loyal North Regiment other ranks helmet plate. The Loyal North Lancashire Regiment was formed as part of the Childers Reforms of 1881. The Loyal Regiment (North Lancashire) (until 1921 known as the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment) was a line infantry regiment of the British Army that was in existence from 1881 to 1970. The outer plate has two lugs (West & East) with the helmet plate centre also having two lugs (West & East). 12.5cm long and 10.5cm wide. This very good example includes U.K. delivery. Framed For Display, WW1 French Croix De Guerre & Médaille Militaire 5 Medal Group To French Soldier Fernand Emile **arang, 39th Infantry Regiment Who Served Throughout The Great War. M 131 - M 131 The Médaille militaire (Military Medal) is a military decoration of the French Republic first established in 1852 by Emperor Napoleon III for award to Privates and Non-Commissioned Officers who distinguished themselves by acts of bravery in action against an enemy force. The Croix de Guerre (Cross of War) is a military decoration of France. It was first created in 1915 and consists of a square-cross medal on two crossed swords, hanging from a ribbon with various degree pins. The decoration was awarded during World War I, again in World War II, and in other conflicts. The Croix de Guerre may either be awarded as an individual or unit award to those soldiers who distinguish themselves by acts of heroism involving combat with the enemy. The medal is awarded to those who have been "mentioned in despatches", meaning a heroic deed or deeds were performed meriting a citation from an individual's headquarters unit. This is an original WW1 French Croix de Guerre & Médaille Militaire medal group to a named soldier who served throughout the Great War. The Croix de Guerre & Médaille Militaire are accompanied by 3 other French WW1 campaign / commemorative medals (The Commemorative medal of the War of 1914 - 1918. The Victory Medal and Croix du Combattant ). The medals are all mounted on a decorative printed setting headed in French ‘Medals Of The Great War’ and has a panel with the soldiers details handwritten in old French text (we are uncertain what the first letter /letters of the Surname are). The text also includes in French ‘did the whole campaign’. The medals are in excellent condition with original ribbons. The Croix de Guerre ribbon has a bronze star. The medals are nicely mounted in a glazed wood frame with brass mounts. The frame measures 21 ½” x 18” x 1 ½”. The rear of the frame has a metal ring for wall hanging. German WW1 1914 Iron Cross 1st Class With Screw` On Back Fitting. M 128 - M 128 This is a very nice WW1 Iron Cross 1st Class with a screw back fitting. The medal retains much of its original finish with only minor wear to the highlights. There are no makers marks to the medal which is not unusual on these pieces. Cased, Named Victorian British Medal Trio Egypt 1882-89 Medal With Tel-El-Kebir Bar, Khedive’s Star 1884-86 & Edward VII Army Long Service & Good Conduct Medal To Pte & Lance Corporal F. Parfitt Notts & Derby And Cameron Highlanders Regiments. - 16012:6 This is a nice group of medals Pte Parfitt Notts & Derby And Cameron Highlanders Regiments. The medals comprise of Egypt 1882-89 Medal With Tel-El-Kebir Bar, Khedive’s Star 1884-86 & Edwardian Army Long Service & Good Conduct Medal . The rear of the medal is dated 1882 and the rim is impressed ‘1273 Pte F. Parfitt 1/ Cam’n Highrs (1st Battalion Cameron Highlanders)’. The back of the Khedive’s Star is the 1882 version and has parfitt’s Regimental number 1273 stamped along with number 79. The rim of the Edwardian Army Long Service & Good Conduct medal is impressed ‘2040 L. Corpl F. Parfitt Notts & Derby Regt. The medals came together in the leather covered case with hinged lid and must be to the same person but with a change of Regiment. The lined case has a trade ink stamp (illustrated). WW2, 1940 Dated German Army Belt Buckle. MISC 869 - MISC 869 This is a WW2 1940 dated German army belt buckle made by Kr Franke and Co. of Ludenscheid. The front of the belt buckle retains some of its original grey paint to the middle but the outer surface has a light surface rust which would be improved with a light clean. The rear of the buckle retains its original grey finish and is stamped with the above makers details. This is a nice belt buckle in as found condition. The price includes U.K. delivery.
