Manchester Regiment, Ladysmith, Boer War Signed & Framed Limited Edition Print by Peter Archer. Misc 804 - MISC 804 A large signed, framed, limited edition print by Peter Archer depicting Pte. R. Scott and Pte. J Potts VC of the 1st Battalion, Manchester Regiment at Caesar's Camp, Ladysmith, 6th January 1900. This very lively and thought provoking limited edition print is framed with an ornate gold coloured framed which measures 27" x 24". The visible print size being 20" x 16". It has a limited edition number "25/50" written in pencil on the bottom left of the print and is signed in pencil by the artist on the bottom right. The caption at the bottom centre reads "Pte. R. Scott and Pte. J. Potts VC 1st Battalion, Manchester Regiment Caesar's Camp, Ladysmith, 6th January 1900. This is a very nice limited edition print by a well known artist. UNAVAILABLE (24/10/23) Victorian Japanese Tortoise Shell Eating Set, Chop Sticks & Knife Misc 803 - MISC 803 An original Victorian Japanese tortoise shell eating set comprising of 2 x Ivory chop sticks and a tortoise shell handled knife complete with tortoise shell holder. The holder is made from tortoise shell, brass and ivory. The container is made up of two tubes, each 7" long and held together at the top middle and bottom with brass rings which are riveted. At the base there is an ivory tip. Down one side there is a decorative brass strip as can be seen in one of the photgraphs. The knife has a tortoise shell handle and a 5 1/4" polished steel blade with a single edge. The two ivory chop sticks measure 8". A very unusual Japanese eating set. The price includes Uk delivery. Field Marshal Montgomery Large Royal Doulton Character Jug Misc 798 - MISC 798 A very nice Royal Doulton Character Jug of Field Marshal Montgomery, Royal Doulton design number D6908. F.M. Montgomery is depicted wearing a black beret, a khaki uniform with a purple and cream baton alongside the handle. It is designed by Stanley J. Taylor. It has a number "88" on the base. It stands 6.5"high. The jug is in perfect unmarked condition. Issued for the 50th anniversary of Montgomery's victory over Rommel in North Africa in 1942, this jug was produced in a limited edition of 2,500 pieces worldwide this being number 757. A Glenn Miller, Royal Doulton Character Jug Misc 795 - MISC 795 / 8149 A very nice Royal Doulton character jug of Glen Miller shown wearing a brown uniform, beige shirt and with gold coloured US Army badges. It has "Moonlight Serenade" in black letters on the handle. The jug was designed by William K. Harper and issued in 1994 - 1998. It has "7 81" on the base. It is 7.5"H . This jug commemorates the 50th anniversary of the disappearance of Glenn Miller in an airplane over the Bay of Biscay in 1944. The jug is in perfect unmarked condition. Post 1940's, Dennis Fire Engine Chrome Plated Brass Mounted Presentation Bell With Functioning Striker On Plynth With Plate Engraved 'B.V.F.B'. Sn 8142. - 8142 Founded in 1895 Dennis Specialist Vehicles Limited was a major British coachbuilder and manufacturer of specialised commercial vehicles based in Guildford, England. The company was best known as the manufacturer of Fire Engines. This is an original presentation, chrome plated brass Dennis Fire Engine bell probably made sometime after the 1940's when Chrome plating was introduced. It is mounted on a brass frame and wooden plynth. The bell is 10" in height ( excluding plynth) and 10" in circumference at it's widest point. It is complete with lever operated striker and works perfectly with a loud deep resonance. It is undamaged and the frame to which the bell is mounted is securely fixed to the wood plynth which measures 12 x 16 x 1 1/2 inches. The brass frame has traces of original red paint. The plynth is fitted with a brass plate nicely engraved ' B.V.F.B'. Price for this excellent Fire Brigade presentation Bell includes UK delivery. Sn 8142. £345.00 |
