Original Parker-Hale Iron Sights. OPT 860. - OPT 860
The Parker Gunsmithing companies. Their tube sleeving system was developed by Alfred G. Parker & Co Ltd and marketed under the Parkerifling tradename early in the 20th century (prior to 1910). The company was born more than 20 years earlier in 1880. The firm initially traded from premises in Icknield St Birmingham and was joined by Arthur T.C. Hale, who had become manager by 1910. It moved to Bisley St which was famously known as ‘Bisley Works’. By 1910 Alfred was designing aperture sights for the firm and performing remarkably at Bisley with a ‘Long’ Lee-Enfield fitted with one of his own sights. Around 1930, Arthur Hales involvement with A.G. Parker had reached a significance which led to the change of company name to Parker-Hale; so, it has retained to this day. This marked Parker-Hale iron sight doesn’t show a model number, but all parts appear to be in place, including sight inserts ranging from 3.0,3.2,3.4,3.6,3.8 & 4.0. Please see images for recognition.
