WW2 Nazi German 7 X 50 Magnification Kriegsmarine Binoculars By blc Carl Zeiss, Jena & 1942 / 1944 Dated Case. Sn 12953 - 12953
These are a very good, original cased pair of Nazi German, 7 X 50 Magnification, Kriegsmarine Binoculars. The Binoculars have a black textured finish, with adjustable armoured eyepieces. The textured finish has areas of surface wear but the metal work is undamaged. The body of the binoculars have lanyard bars and are fitted with original leather neck strap. All optics are excellent and function as they should. One shoulder of the binoculars is crisply marked '7 x 50 'Magnification) and bears the Nazi German War time manufacturer's code 'blc' which is which is Carl Zeiss, Jena, together with serial number (all illustrated). The Binoculars are contained in their fitted sturdy black leather case with hinged lid. The lid of the case has its original sprung fastener which is date stamped ‘42’ (1942) and the body has its original single stud fastener. The case is absent its shoulder strap & the rear of the case has a contemporarily applied large riveted and stitched belt loop. An excellent British WW1 & WW2 Brass Trench Periscope. The scope itself measures 18 ¾” overall and has a screw off 10 ½” contoured wood handle with brass ferrule. It has an adjustable graduated eyepiece with Bakelite eye cup. All optics function as they should. The frame is crisply marked 'Periscope No.14 TPL MK 4 OS 1427 GA R&JB (Beck Ltd) 9677 ' together with WD arrow. The body is fitted with original riveted leather tabs. A superb condition pair of 1942 dated 6E/471 Royal Air Force, Air Ministry issued x6 binoculars nicely stamped Watson Baker in a matching fitted case, MK I by F. Ltd. The binoculars have good optics, textured black body and original leather neck strap. On the shoulder on one side they are stamped with "6E/471 4962" and "AM" and the Kings Crown, on the other side with "Watson Baker x6 1942" which is faint. An original pair of WW2 Nazi Dienstglas (Service Glass), 7 X 50 Magnification, Infantry Officer's Binoculars & case. The binoculars have undamaged adjustable Bakelite eyepieces with flip up lens covers. The body of the binoculars have lanyard bars and they are fitted with original thin leather neck strap. All optics are good and function as they should. The right shoulder of the binoculars are crisply stamped 'Dienstglas 7x 50' and with serial number '152707'. It is also stamped with the code 'bmk' which is the Nazi wartime code for Srb & Stys, Fabrik praeziser Messinstrumente, Prag together with a blue triangle which indicates cold climate use (A blue triangle meant that they were constructed for cold climate, White for temperate climates and Green for hot climates). They are contained in their fitted sturdy black leather case with hinged lid. The lid of the case has its retaining strap and the body has its original single stud fastener.
