Cased, WW2 1941 Swiss Armee-Modell Kern Of ARRAU 6X24 Magnification Binoculars With Eye Piece Protector Cover, Leather Neck Strap, Uniform Attachment Tab & Correct Swiss Made Leather Case Inscribed ‘Kpt (Nazi German Kriegsmarine Kapitän ) Halfri 11/252 - OPT 801 This is a very nice set of WW2 Swiss Army 6X24 Binoculars, complete with their original neck strap and eyepiece protector. Small field glasses were highly preferred by officers due to their convenience. This example is fully functional, with clear optics and a very nice correct leather carry case. It is marked as follows: (Swiss Cross) Armee-Modell (Swiss Cross) 1941 6X24. The left base is also marked with maker Kern (maker) of ARRAU, a town in Northern Switzerland. The front of the binoculars have additional Swiss Cross Proofs, as well as serial No 27208. The binoculars have the correct range reticule in the left eyepiece. The lanyard bars have original leather neck strap and it has a uniform attachment tab with eyelet for buttoning to uniform. The included tan leather case is in great shape, with a functional spring loaded closure strap and shoulder strap. The bottom is well marked with a Swiss Proof Mark, as well as an indistinct maker mark and number 16. The front of the case has period hand inscribed wording ‘Kpt’ (Nazi German Kriegsmarine Kapitän rank), what looks like ’Halfri’ (possible officer’s name) ‘11/252’ (possible Kriegsmarine ship or parts designation) indicating that at some point in the war these binoculars were in carried by a Kriegsmarine Officer. WW2 Era Nazi D.A.K. (German Africa Corps) bek (Hensoldt-Werk fuer Optik und Mechanik, Herborn) Direct Line 3x8 Optical Gun Sight For PaK 38 & 40 Anti Tank Guns. OPT 800 - OPT 800 This is an original sight for Nazi German artillery Guns. These sights were used on the PaK 38 & 40 anti tank guns (illustrated in image 1 are copies of images of PaK 38 (left) & PaK 40 guns in combat during WW2). The steel sight retains some of its original DAK sand coloured paint. It has the correct graduated reticule (cannot photograph but the reticule form is illustrated in image 2) & gun mount. The optics function as they should. The body has identification markings ‘66071 F.3x8’ and Nazi wartime manufacturer code ‘bek’ which is Hensoldt-Werk fuer Optik und Mechanik, Herborn. Cased, WW2 1944 British WD Kershaw No2 MK III, 6X Magnification Prismatic Binoculars With Period Webbing Covered Case. OPT 799 - OPT 799 These are a nice original cased pair of WW2 British Military No2 MKIII, 6X Magnification Prismatic binoculars. The binoculars measure 6" X 5" and have a black textured finish, with adjustable eyepieces. The body of the binoculars have lanyard bars. All optics are good and function as they should. The right shoulder of the binoculars is crisply stamped with graticule detail together with 1944 date, WD arrow and maker’s name ‘Kershaw’. The left shoulder is crisply stamped with ‘Bino Prism No2 MK III, x6' Model and magnification detail together with 'No.267058'. All lettering is highlighted in original white paint (illustrated). The binoculars retain all of their original black finish. They are contained in their fitted hard body khaki webbing covered case with hinged lid and single brass stud fastener. The case is clean. The left & right sides of the case have webbing tabs with brass strap bars. The lid has a female press stud fastener that fastens to a male brass stud on the front of the body. Transit Cased, WW2 1944 Canadian Research Enterprises Ltd Contract Barr & Stroud Glasgow Scotland No 12 MK VI Rangefinder With Post WW2 1952 Gift Presentation Plate, WW2 1942 Dated Transit Case With Charles Franks Glasgow Suppliers Label. OPT 798 - OPT 798 This is an Infantry Rangefinder from WWII used by the infantry. Designed for P.I.L. (position in line) navigational and general purposes. This Rangefinder was made in Canada to support the British war effort. This rangefinder is contained in its original wooden transit chest. The range finder has manufacturer plate ‘Research Enterprises Ltd Canada By Arrangement With Barr & Stroud Glasgow Ltd Glasgow’ and identification plate ‘Rangefinder No.12 MK VI 1944’ together with serial number and 1931-35 patents (illustrated). There is also a later 1952 civilian Christmas gift presentation plate (illustrated). The instrument retains its original green paint finish, folding handles and lens covers with retaining straps. The optics function as they should. The wooden chest is in excellent condition with all straps and catches in good working order. Internally the case is fitted to hold the instrument securely. The case contains a tool / rod. The exterior of the chest has its original ‘Charles Franks Glasgow’ supplier’s label and original period Scottish postage stamps. **IMPRESSIVE**LARGE**WW1 Era British WD Brass & Leather Coastal Artillery Telescope By Broadhurst, Clarkson and Co Ltd London With Brass lens Cover Supplied By Charles Franks Glasgow & Matching Franks Glasgow WD Wood Tri-Pod With Spiked End Caps. - 14979/7865 In 1892 Alexander Thomas Clarkson went into partnership Robert Henry Broadhurst . They made quality optical instruments. In 1915 trading as 'Broadhurst, Clarkson and Co’ the business was listed at Farringdon Road London. During WW1 as part of the war effort, the company set up further telescope factories in Watford, and a lens-making facility in central London producing optical instruments for the British War Dept. This is an impressive WW1 era large British WD Brass & Leather Coastal Artillery Telescope by 'Broadhurst, Clarkson and Co Ltd London. The optics of the telescope are excellent and clear. It has a 3” diameter lens with its original protective brass cap. When mounted in its extended position it is 46” in length. The telescope is leather bound. The leather has a supplier’s label ‘Charles Franks Glasgow’ (illustrated in image 2). The brass draw of the scope is crisply marked by the manufacturer ‘'Broadhurst, Clarkson and Co Ltd 63 Farringdon Road London EC 3059 No.44” (illustrated in image 2). The telescope is mounted on its original heavy wood tripod with alloy and brass mounts. The legs have alloy spiked feet and one leg has its original leather strap with buckle for fastening the legs together during transit. The tripod holds the telescope by means of a brass bracket. The brass mount on the tripod has a ‘WD arrow’ and number ‘1643’ (illustrated in image 2). One leg of the tripod has a matching ‘Franks Glasgow’ retailer label (illustrated in image 2). The telescope rotates freely 360 degrees. The telescope including mount stands at 57" to the centre when in the open position. This is an impressive, full size, WD Coastal Artillery Telescope by a quality maker complete with matching supplier tripod. The price includes UK delivery. WW2 Era Canadian Royal Navy WD Pattern 373C ‘Officer Of The Watch’ Single Draw Brass Naval Telescope By CKC (Canadian Kodak Company)With Sliding Sun Shade & Intricate Rope Lashing. Sn 21067 - 21067 A World War II era Canadian WD marked single-draw nautical telescope. These telescopes were used by Ship’s 'Officer of the Watch'. Made from solid brass the barrel is wrapped in textured black leather and in the period it has had intricate rope cord lashing applied over the leather to assist grip. It has a sliding brass sun shade. The telescope has an adjusting ring numbered ‘0 + 5 - 5 – 0’. The draw is crisply marked with Canadian 'broad arrow' set inside of a 'C' ( this Canadian WD mark was discontinued circa 1949). It also has ‘Pattern 373C’ & ‘No. 3284’. Fully extended the scope measures 23 ½”, closed 13”. All optics of the telescope are excellent and function as they should. The price includes UK delivery. Sn 21067 £275.00 |
