Sn 15415 - 15415 These handcuffs designed by Hiatt are rare to find. Produced in America in the early 20th Century these Hiatt ‘Flexible’ cuffs are made of iron and have correct flexible links. One of the links is crisply marked ‘Yuma’ to the Yuma Police Dept, Arizona , USA and another link numbered ‘97’. 1950's-60's West German Police 'Polizei' Peaked Police Motorcyclist Helmet By Romer Helm, Size 57 / 58 and Helmet Transfer Badge. Sn 13907:62 - 13907:62 This is a 1950's-60's West German Police 'Polizei' motorcyclist helmet, size 57 / 58. The helmet is made of hard composite and coloured white and it has a leather headband on the outside which is padded. It is styled similar to the British 'Corker' motorcycle helmet. It has a black leather neck and ear piece with black nylon chin strap which is adjustable with a steel buckle. To the front is a transfer type helmet badge which depicts a rearing horse. The helmet is made of hard composite and coloured white and it has what looks to be a leather peak, piped in white leather. On either side it has in black letters "Polizei" the German for police. It is styled similar to the British ';Corker' motorcycle helmet. It has a black leather neck and ear piece with black leather chin strap which is adjustable with a brass buckle. To the front is a metal helmet badge which depicts a castle with three towers. Inside it has the makers label "Original Romer Helm" and a brown leather 10 tongue liner. 1950's French Police 'Paris Bandsman's' Kepi With Bullion Badges By Perchet Freres. Sn 13907:59 - 13907:59 An Original 1950's French Police 'Paris bandsman' Kepi. The kepi is made from dark blue corded cloth and on the top and the top edges it has a fine gold bullion piping with cross design on the top. It has a silver bullion chin strap secured on either side with a silver coloured button. The peak is black with black rolled edge. To the front it has two bullion badges. The top one is silver green and red and the one below is silver. Inside it has a brown leather sweat band. It is lined in brown silk and in the top it is stamped with the manufacturers stamp, "Equipment Militares Perchet Freres 4 Rue des Mauvais Garcons 58 Rue du Roi de Sicile, Paris". UNAVAILABLE South African Police Pith Helmet and South African Police Kings Crown Helmet Plate, Size 7 1/8. Sn 13907:57 - 13907:57 This is a rare South African Police Pith helmet in blue serge and with a Kings Crown helmet plate. The South African Police (SAP) was officially formed on the 1st April, 1913, from the Police corps of the various Provinces. It remained the national police force in South Africa from 1913 to 1994. It was also the de facto police force in the territory of South-West Africa (Namibia) from 1939 to 1981. With the outbreak of the First World War the SAMR were called to service and the SAP assumed their responsibilities. 957 police officers were also assigned to the Defence Force for active duty, in the course of which 73 were killed. In 1927, after the SAMR had been disbanded, the SAP took over the Pietermaritzburg and then the Durban (1936) areas. After this all duties excluding those of the South African Railway Police and the South African Military Police Corps became the responsibility of the SAP. On 1 June 1939 South West Africa (now Namibia) also fell under SAP jurisdiction. The helmet is stamped inside with the size "7 1/8" and a makers stamp "SAP H PLY Bulldog Pretoria" and a hand written "66/59". There is also a Dymo tape tag "S.A.P. 1948". The helmet is in excellent condition, the outside being a six panel blue serge with top vent. It has a South African Police Kings Crown helmet plate to the front. There is a black leather head band. Inside the outer rim is lined in green cotton and inside it has a leather sweat band. The top vent is secured with a brass screw fixing inside. It has two brass hooks for a chin strap. Vintage French National Police Kepi Scecam Bernay, Size 57. Sn 13907:55 - 13907:55 This is a very nice example of the French National Police Kepi Scecam Bernay. It is in excellent condition and retains the French National Police blue white and red enamel badge to the front. It has a chin strap with silver bullion decoration and secured with two rosettes, one either side. On the top it has silver bullion piped edges on the top and side. The cap has a black visor. It is in excellent undamaged condition. Inside it is lined with white cotton and has a black ink stamp "S B M Toulon 57" and handwritten "Biloute A.J.". The kepi has a black leather sweat band. McCauley', made by Christy's of London. The night bowler hat is made from soft black felt and is in excellent condition throughout. It has a black leather chin strap which is folded up and over the top of the cap badge. The out side also has a black leather headband which is secure. There are single vents on either side. To the front it has a RUC blackened cap badge. Inside it has thin cork padding and a black leather sweat band which is stamped with the makers mark 'Christy's of London' and inside the sweat band there is a hand written name 'H. McCauley'.
