WW2 1941 British 'D' Type Hand Forged Handcuffs With Key, "R.C.S." Stamped. Pol 379 - Pol 379
A mid to late 19th century pair of 'D' Type handcuffs with key stamped with 1941. They are hand forged steel. They are stamped on the ends of the opening bars with "3551 R.C.S. 1941 2". Also on one of the shoulders with the War Department 'Broad Arrow' and "86". The key is stamped with "674". They both open freely with the key. They are linked with a short three piece chain which incorporates a swivel. The key screws into the opening bar to release. They are in excellent condition. The price includes Uk delivery. Pol 379

British Made Hiatt Leading Handcuff. Pol 378 - Pol 378
An original, quality, plated wrought iron leading handcuff, British made. The leading handcuff was still in use as late as the 1970's in Britain and first came into use in the mid to late 19th Century. It was designed to 'snap' onto the wrist and locked in place, the officer could control the offender by carefully twisting the other end which gave full control. They lock with a snap lock kept closed with a spring clip. This leading handcuff is in very good condition, the spring clip works as it should, they lock together. They have a single hinge point which moves smoothly. The body is stamped near to the clip with "Hiatt Steel" on one side and "British made" on the other. WW1 Era 1915-1919 Dated, City Of Manchester Police Special Constable's Lignum Vitae Hardwood Presentation Truncheon To S.C H. Pugh. Sn 11568 - 11568
This is an excellent quality original WW1 wooden Police Presentation Truncheon to a Special constable who saw service through WW1 and beyond until 1919. It is 15" length and made of the traditional heavy Lignum vitae hard wood. It has a highly coloured oval panel at the widest part of the staff. The panel in Gold, Red, & Blue with Black lettering features The Kings Crown with Royal Cypher (George Rex) together with Manchester City Coat of Arms above banners with lettering to 'Special Constable', 'H.Pugh', '1915-1919'. It has a deep grooved grip with rounded end and is fitted with remnants of its original leather wrist strap. The wood is undamaged with no dents. Victorian Police/ Constabulary Tipstaff With Hand Painted Decoration & Brass Plate With Royal Cypher. Sn 11548 - 11548
The earliest record of the Tipstaff (Warrant Stick) was in the 14th century. The name derives from the early origins of Policing when Warranted Officers would apprehend a criminal with the help if necessary of a tipped staff. The staff would be made of wood or metal and were not only a means of self defence but the tips of the staffs would bear symbols of their authority. Modern Police Truncheons originated from these Tipstaffs. This is an excellent original Victorian era Tipstaff. The body is made of heavy wood tapered and shaped for grip. The handle is holed for wrist strap. The top of the staff has a circular brass plate engraved with Crown ‘V’ (Victoria). The staff has beautiful hand painted decoration featuring a Crown and Royal Cypher. All of the staff’s Gold, Green and Red decoration is vivid. Price includes UK delivery. Sn 11548.

WW2 Military Issue Gas Mask and Front Pack To Police Constable P. Dobson, Bury Police Staion, Lancashire Constabulary. Pol 375 - Pol 375
An Original and Researchable WW2 Military Issue Gas Mask and Front Pack with a Transport And General Workers Union (T&GWU) Membership Card Issued in 1943 to P. Dobson of 47 Bury Road, Edenfield, a Methodist Church Edenfield Teaching Syllabus to Mr P. Dobson and a spare eye visor.The Gas mask was manufactured on 16/08/38 (1938) and manufactured by "L & B R Co Ltd" and has the War Department 'Broad Arrow' stamped on it. The elastic head straps are all serviceable and the Canister is in good condition. The mask is sized as "L" (Large. The rear head pad is stamped as "No. 4 MK III 8/38". The lenses are in good unscratched or damaged condition and the mask is supple and free of damage. The gas mask tube is flexible and undamaged. The canvas front pack has the shoulder strap and original string. It has brass press stud fastenings. Inside the flap it has "LA/Bury Divn/Police S.C. Sgt 686" in hand written pen. This is a very good original, WW2, painted steel Police Inspector's 'Tommy' helmet. The helmet is painted blue and has its original Stenciled paint lettering 'POLICE' and rank Insignia bands. The inner rim of the helmet is stamped with what appears to be a number ‘7’. It has its original black oil cloth liner and sprung webbing chinstrap all of which are completely intact. This is an excellent original Doncaster Police Constable's / Sergeant's 2 panel helmet with a WW2 King's Crown night helmet plate and chin strap. It has a perfect exterior finish with correct 2 panel construction and ornate black painted vented rose top mount and headband with side rosettes. The rose and headband have the original blacking. It is fitted with it's original blackened King's Crown plate with central silvered Doncaster Crest. Inside it is in good condition with a leather sweat band and chinstrap with small buckle. Forfar is the County Town of Angus, Scotland. The Royal Burgh of Forfar Police was established in 1857. In 1930 the Forfar Burgh Police became part of the Angus Constabulary. This is an original Victorian Police Truncheon to The Forfar Burgh Police. The staff is made from heavy wood, the body is varnished natural wood. The body of the staff is hand decorated with Queens Crown in Gold, White, Black & Red. Below this is the Royal Cypher "V.R" (Victoria Regina) in gold on a field of Red in the centre of a black oval border with Gold lettering ‘Forfar Burgh Police’. The lower section of the body is impressed with number ‘2’. The wood and decorations have some surface wear consistent with age and use. Kincardineshire also known as The Mearns (from A' Mhaoirne meaning "The Stewartry") is a historic County on the coast of northeast Scotland. It is bounded by Aberdeenshire on the north and west, and by Angus on the south. The county town was originally the town of Kincardine. The Kincardine County Police Constabulary was formed in 1841. This is an original Victorian Truncheon. Police Truncheon, Hand Decorated To The Scottish Kincardine County Constabulary. The staff is made from heavy wood, the body is painted Black and the grip unpainted natural wood all varnished. The body of the staff is hand decorated with Queen’s Crown within a decorative foliate panel and banners in Gold, Red & Black with wording ‘Kincardine’, ‘County’ and ‘Police’ in Gold. The decorations retain much of their original vivid colours. The truncheon has a contoured grooved grip recessed for wrist strap with rounded pommel. The truncheon measures 15” in length. An original Victorian Police Truncheon. The staff is made from heavy wood, hand painted in Red and black sections and varnished. At the top of the baton it has a Queens Crown in Gold & Red. Below this is the Royal Cypher "VR" (Victoria Regina) in gold. The truncheon has a contoured grooved grip holed for wrist strap. Just above the grip the staff is impressed with letter ‘C’ (most likely Constable or ‘C’ Division Police Area designation) above ‘958’ (most likely the Collar Number of the Victorian Constable who was issued with the truncheon).
